@AStoot, I believe everyone's experience will be different. .some experience no hair loss some like me start with shedding and move on to continuous hair loss..I just cut mt hair very short ..and yes I am taking my vitamins and getting my protein in..but what was discovered in my last blood work results that my iron levels are extremely low, and my Vitamin A&D were extremely low. .

I tell u the thoughts you have u feel like you are the only one thinking this but there are others. but just thinking now about those folks I met they all went through with the surgery and are doing well no complications. I was scared and nervous all rhe way into the OR...and I had an out my surgeon was late because it started snowing ..so he was in traffic. ..but I forged ahead and I am here to tell you that it's worth it. .today I am 289 lbs from 364 (surgery on 12/17/13)...While I didn't have any ailments I had recently started bp and diabetic meds...and guess what I immediately came off of them ....jus wanted to share ...you are not alone with the feelings...you can do it!!!

Hi everyone just wanted to chime in on the hair loss. I was sleeved on 12/17/13, while the hair loss didn't start immediately but when it did boy did it...I went and brought my protein enriched shampoo and treatment packets, along with my biotin supplement. I went and had my hair cut evenly and have begun my regimen. .The shedding and breaking has slowed down tremendously and I am making sure I get enough protein to combat this as well. The good thing us I have lost 67 lbs since I began my journey.

That is the one thing I prayed for not to have a noisy roommate. ..thank goodness my prayers were really answered and I had a private room. ..but congrats brybro . I will be 6 wks out on Friday. .and all I can say is that the noisy roommate good or bad is worth it ..I am down 49 lbs; 9 lbs pre op .40 post. Not doing anything special just following Dr's orders. .

Hi kittychick- I felt the same when I finally decided to start my process of getting the sleeve. ...I told my husband 1st what I was doing and why at 1st he was hesitant but came around. .once I got through all of the testing and NUT appointments and psyc eval I shared with a co worker and come to find out she was doing the same thing with the same dr as me...so we became buddies she had the same feelings of not telling everyone. . I only told my aunt and cousin and swore her to not tell my super opinionated uncle who would pick up the phone and begin to tell me all that I could do to "fix my problem"...I told my dad just last week only because hes older and I knew he would worry and he is already dealing with his own med issues. . so I def understand wher u are coming from. ..
