Fantastic job everyone! Love to hear the good news.

The term is "anesethetic awareness." It is extremely rare, but does happen. Experiences can vary greatly, from what MizPeppy experienced (I'm very sorry to hear of this) to much less traumatic cases in which someone only has vague recollections of conversations and no pain. I wouldn't hesitate to seek counseling. It is recommended for those who experience what you have gone through. Please take care~

Ah, you may think you miss the buffets...but my guess is you don't miss what they do to you, m'dear. It's a struggle where we're at right now, just like all those who have gone before us. Don't focus so much on losing weight right now; it will come. I haven't lost any for a little while now since moving to solids (actually gained a few back.) No worries though, it'll come off. Patience and persistance; we can do it!

Just wanted to say "hello"; didn't even realize we WA-sters have our own world here.
-
Well, we're all in the same boat, and the magic word we need to remember every day is something we all don't have a lot of right now: patience! We've all be overweight for YEARS, and we are desperate for that change. But we have a lot going for us now that we didn't before: the band itself, the big group of friends here that are going through the exact same thing... We will get to where we need to be; I have faith, both in the band and in all of us. Stay strong!!

Oh yeah, back to working out! Been told to stay away from lifting weights for 6 weeks, but I'm up to 45-60 minutes a day on a treadmill or elliptical. It's hard if you haven't really exercised before to start the routine, but I feel so much better for doing it. We can do it, y'all!
-
Let's play nice, y'all. Truth is (and we all know this): it took us years to do this to ourselves. It's gonna take a little time to take it all back off. Patience. Persistence.

Mummy eating too soon
BluesByrd replied to mummybandit's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I second that, losingjusme. You'll read a lot of great advise based on experience here, but follow what your doctor tells you to do. They are truly the experts, not us. One person can go to mushies 2 weeks out and another has to wait 4...just follow Doc's Rules! -
I'm feelin' the same way Amy, but my wife would KILL me if I took after the furry ones. I'm starting to get more hungry, but what's really keeping me in check is the fear of damaging something. I'm so afraid of not following my doc's regimen to a "T" that if I stop and think about it when I feel hungry, it wins every time.

Oatmeal & Cottage Cheese During Full Liquid Stage?
BluesByrd replied to Shrinkage's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Agree with Mandi; you'll see lots of great advice here, but what your doc says it what you really should follow. My doc (who only does LapBand) recently changed the post-op diet to start with 1 week of full liquids, which included applesauce and pudding, which seemed a little toward the mushie to me...but then again, I ain't the expert. -
You bet! Let's keep each other on track

Well, to tired to type much at the moment, but it's over, kids. Crossin' my finger the next couple of days won't be so bad. I can't believe it's over!
-
Dana! Me too!! Just got back a little while ago. I'm glad you are doing so well. I'm in the same boat: sore, but not really hurting. We're on the way...
-
Carrot and all - we're going to be fine!

All my best to you Holly! We're all here for you. Keep in touch and let us know how it went.

Just had my pre-op appt y'all, and after spending a decent amount of time reading all the wonderful info on this board, I'm feeling concerned/confused. I'm being banded next Thursday at Northwest Weight Loss Surgery in Everett, WA and we reviewed the post-op diet. I want to be succesful. I will follow what they tell me to do. BUT... ...they have recently revised their post-op to be: 1 week full liquids (which includes applesauce, yogurt, pudding), followed by 1 week of mushies (soft fish, scrambled eggs), then on to more solid foods. First fill at 4 weeks. I fully understand the need to have the band heal and settle in place. I'm seriously thinking of extending my phases to have an extra week of liquids and an extra week of mushies. I'll be damned if I move through things to fast just to cause issues down the road. Am I nuts??

Welcome Bandita! Great to have you aboard. We've got a bunch of Oct folks that are ready-n-rarin' to go, and few have already taken the plunge. Keep in touch~
-
So...2 days out, give us the scoop Realestwoman. How you doin? Hope you're good!
-
I'm down with that. Had my 'last supper' last week, and the next day was feelin' like I was starved hittin the liquids. Would've been better off taken her easy...
-
Alright, another guy aboard! You know I love ya Ladies, but it's good to know I'm not the only guy in the Oct group. I see a few more in the Rollcall list. Hey, we're all one big happy banded family here, right?

Post Oct 07 surgery well-wishes here!
BluesByrd replied to OregonHolly's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'll second that. I'm so glad this is a journey I don't have to take alone...'cause I'm bringing y'all with me! Best wishes~ -
Well folks, I gotta tell ya: there's nothing like a rude awakening to get things going. After serious discussions with my wife and doctor about my weight and health, I had decided to do my homework and see what I could do to make a change. I decided Lap Band was for me. That was about 5 months ago. I have worked diligently on not gaining any weight these past months, and now that surgery is right around the corner (Oct. 11), I'm prepping myself for the pre-op diet. I'm also gettin' the jitters just a bit :phanvan At any rate, our company had a little party the other night, and the photos were just posted. HOLY GOD. I haven't actually been in a picture for about a year now (I steer clear of cameras), but someone snapped one off. Let's just say I am ready to start my pre-op early and get this party started! I know y'all are with me, so let's do this!

Melbear - I'll tell ya' one thing: you've got friends here! Talk to us, we'll listen. This is a journey you won't have to take alone.

Girl, all KINDS of thoughts runnin' through our heads. Don't worry what others think. This decision is about YOU. Love yourself, thick or thin, you are still the same wonderful person. And believe me, people will notice.

Welcome aboard, Audrey. I'm a fellow Seattle-ite. You couldn't be in a better place for great information and support.
