Thanks for everyones answers.I dont have good enough credit to finance so looks like I might have to pull off 401 K. And wait till like tax refund.And it looks like its gonna be the Mexico route for me. Makes me mad when I mention going to Mexico to do this procedure everyone kinda looks at me funny and of course has comments.But everyone has opionions.Im In Va so Im gonna have to fly and of course the boyfriend wont fly so I have to find someone to go with me.Im kinda scared to go by myself. I got one friend whos telling me thats alot of money just to get skinny.Wow thanks so mych for the support!!Im not as lucky as she is to where her ins will cover all of hers.

Im also considering going to Mexico.I only found the one site for Ortiz.How about the other doc Zapata?He seems cheaper.Ortiz gave me the amount of 9500.But Im all the way in Va. Jennifer

Hes the type of person that you go in and tell him you wanna do the surgery he will be like why dont you stop eating,stuff like that.Hes the kinda boss thats better than you.But he hasnt realized we both put our pants on the same way.Mine are just bigger than his Our agent is gonna mention it to him and give him the price difference next month and tell him theres a couple people interested in it. I know ive read so much about what people have to go thru to get teh surgery with the insurance company.Kinda wonder if its just as easy to add some more debt to what I have.

Yeah thats what our ins guy just told me.That I would have to go to the boss man and ask him to add the rider to our insurance when It renews in Oct. I just got that kinda boss I dont know if I can ask him to add that.Hes rather hateful.. Any suggestions on how to come out and ask soemthing like that?

Call the insurrance company yesterday to see what they had to say before I even went the the lap band doc.I have Optima health and its thru work.Well when I called them they told me I dont have the morbit obesity rider on my policy!! So does that mean I dont have a chance on them paying for it?If anybody out there can give me any advise.Do I stop here or go ahead with the plan to see the doctor?I currently have a bmi of 43 with high bp. Im new here,I actaully have been thinking about the lap band for several months now.Finally got the nerve up to talk to my pcp about it.He said he doesnt have a problem with it.But we needed to have something to stand on when we go to start the process.So he put me on a 1200 calorie diet.And when I come back in 3 months we would see where to go from there.I have high blood pressure also.My BMI is 41 or 43.I cant remb..All I know is Im ready for this.Im 5 ft weigh 221.I also hope my insurance company pays for it becuase I dont have a self pay way to do it.Ive been overweight all my life.Been on pretty much every diet and pill except the alli pill.Kinda scared to try that one.Well Hope im arouns for awhile.Good luck to everyone. Thanks Betsy, So you think I should just go ahead and contact a lap doc? I thought about that at first but didnt know if I had to go thru PCP first.Are you a self pay? Jennifer
