It is one month since I had the sleeve surgery and I do feel great. My doctor has his patients follow his diet. First 2 weeks were just Clear liquids and 6oz Protein drinks. I had trouble with the Protein Drinks but finally could tolerate sugar-free chocolate Carnation instant Breakfast with a teaspoon of instant coffee. Besides that, I lived on sugar-free ice pops. Could not have Jello. I also made Lipton soup for the broth, strained it so noodles were not in broth. I wondered if other doctors had a strict diet like this. Also, any medication had to be in liquid form or crushable; but after the surgery, my doctor took me off of all medications except for 1 blood pressure pill, 2 medications for my fibromyalgia and the prednisone I need to take for polymyalgia rheumatica. The prednisone will mess up my weight loss, but my doctor says it will just take longer. My sugar has finally come down to around 110, which is fantastic, and that is with no medication! I know this is a long answer to your question, but I had to have clear soups.
