congrats! just curious about your stalls and how often they happened. i'm a few days away from being 2 months out and I'm already in my 2nd stall. I had 1st stall after week 1 and it lasted for 3 or 4 weeks Idk cuz I quit weighing. when I did weigh I lost 10 pounds. Now I finally weighed 2 weeks later and lost nothing. So this has been my 2nd stall. It makes no sense.

ucjes...feel free to add me -
So I have read so many stories from people who have had so many problems. It seems like I hardly hear of anyone having no problems like I have. Are they out there somewhere? I had surgery on nov 18 and had hardly any pain. The first day was kind of crappy but after that there was no problem. I had no problems with liquids, purees, soft foods and now solids. When I started on soft foods I ate a small tilapia filet almost every night. I don't get nauseous and I don't throw up anything. I had one exception with one of my tilapia nights. I decided to add mashed potatoes to it and that ended up being way too much. I did throw that up but that was the only time. Now I get full I stop like i'm supposed to. Nothing feels like a brick in my stomach like I read about a lot. Everything I have tried to eat has agreed with me besides that one time with mashed potatoes. For some reason mashed potatoes fills me up pretty quickly. I started on solids last week and I've eating salmon filets, shrimp and and tonight was the 1st night for chicken breast. No problems here. Ive also eaten a lot of turkey meatballs. they are pretty small that come in a bag made by Kroger. Pretty tasty. I usually eat between 700-900 calories a day. I excellent about getting in about 70 grams a Protein a day. Most everything I eat is protein. Unfortunatly no many veggies getting in since I'm so preoccupied with getting in my protein. I also seem to eat moderately fast and I probably don't chew up everything into tiny pieces like I'm supposed to but my stomach doesn't seem to mind. Anyone else have no problems? I would like to hear from you. Maybe Im' doing something wrong...idk....I track everything I eat in my fitnesspal.com My screename is "ucjes". Please add me and check out my food diary. any pointers would be great.

What are you eating 8 weeks out?
ucjes replied to Alisa11/18's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will be 8 week out in a few days and I haven't had any problems eating anything. today--breakfast--Quest Protein bar lunch--6 small turkey meatballs with mozzarella cheese and marinea---they are kroger brand and kinda small so six is pretty easy to eat dinner--4.5 oz of chicken breast...I rolled it up with spinach, feta cheese, mushrooms, a bit of cottage cheese, and plain greet yogurt Does that sound like a lot? Too me it doesn't but I see other people eating like 1 bite of something and be full. Idk. add me on my fitness pal and check out my menu and tell me what you thing....ucjes@yahoo.com...my user is "ucjes" -
Tilapia is a good choose. I ate a lot of it. I have no problems with shrimp. I've been eating it for a 2 weeks now. I'm almost 2 months out.

I have discovered them recently and they are pretty good. They are better than most Protein bars -
I got that stuff but I keep screwing it up. The first time I got it too hot and it was chunky and pasty. It was really gross. The second time I made sure not to get it too hot but I put too much Water in it and it was still kind of chunky. I would like to try it again but I feel like Im just going to waste it again. Any suggestions??

I started walking recently and I think that has helped me too.

HI. We were sleeved around the same time. Mine was Nov 18th. Lately been eating a lot of fish. I haven't lost much since surgery which has been very discouraging. I quit weighing several weeks ago because it was causing me too much anxiety. It was the dreaded 3 week stall. Lately I felt my clothes getting looser so it seems I break thru the stall. i'm still not weighing yet. I go to the dr on the 2nd and I will see then.

that sounds like a good idea. You can get breakfast stuff at night there? Im leaving towards shrimp taco with no tortilla and maybe refried Beans. I'm not big on black beans

My first major weight drop
ucjes replied to Disabledaccount's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm sitting at about a 4 week stall too. It's very discouraging. I quit weighing a few weeks ago because it was causing me way too much anxiety. I was sleeved on nov 18 and I'm doing everything right so I guess it will come off eventually -
I make them similar with egg beaters and Jimmy Dean Turkey crumbles

I know how you feel. I see a lot of people who lose tons in the 1st month. I am not one of those people. I was in a group on Facebook and I got so discouraged by people losing a 100 pounds in 6 months I deleted the group. I am also about a month out. I had surgery on nov 18. The day of surgery I was at 266 and a week later I lost 10 pounds then nothing after that. I was in the dreaded stall. A week after that I gained 2 pounds. I refused to weigh after that. It caused me too much anxiety. I may have lost a few pounds since then but doesn't feel like much. I'm doing everything right so I guess it will come off when it comes off. It just takes time for our bodies to adjust to everything. I also started walking this past week. It made me feel better and not so discouraged

you say soft but I'm assuming you meant like mushy, pureed. I'm only a month out but I ate so much greek yogurt I refuse to touch it anymore.. Try cottage cheese and egg salad and chicken salad. I ate a lot of that during my week of all that. I still eat cottage cheese. I love it. You didn't make a mistake. it will pay off. Being emotional is part of it though. If you think you are emotional now wait til you hit a stall. I stalled after my first week. I think I'm still in a stall but I refuse to weigh because it caused me too much anxiety.

I didn't have a drain or any kind of leak test. I keep reading post about people having leak test so I dunno.
-
I wish. My insurance doesn't cover any kind of bariatric anything. My sister loaned me the money and I'm paying her back
-
So this week was my pureed week and next week I can gradually work in a few soft foods. Tender and moist fish is on the list. Does that mean I can bake a salmon or tuna filet in the oven or sear it in the skillet? Is that considered a soft food? I hope so

How much weight did you lose during your first month post-op?
ucjes replied to gemgirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know exactly how you feel because I"m going through the same thing you feel. I had surgery on the Nov 18th and lost 10 pounds the 1st week nothing since then. I actually haven't weighed in over a week because I didn't want to keep feeling defeated by the scale not moving. 3 week stalls are not a myth. It's just your body trying to adjust but it really sucks. -
tuna salad, egg salad, chicken salad, mashed potatos

He is my surgeon. I had my surgery on nov 18. I didn't have any problems. It's a center of excellence so I was good with that

I'm so frustrated and discouraged. I was sleeved on nov 18 and lost 10 pounds the 1st week which I know was just Water mostly. So now here I am 2 weeks and 2 days into my "3 week stall." If actually really lasts 3 weeks I'm going to lose my s**t. I even gained 2 pounds. I get that fact my body is adjusting to the trauma of surgery and also trying to hold on to everything I put in it because it thinks I'm starving it. My understanding has turned into complete frustration. I decided to up my calories thinking that would help. I went from about 500 to about 800. 200 calories was just from my Protein shake which I hate but i suck it down anyway. I know everyone that says this is normal but it doesn't feel like it. I just makes me feel like I'm failing. It makes me feel like I wasted $12,000 of my hard earned money...ugh
