  1. So anyone from Beaumont or Houston have good experiences with surgeons there? I have lost 142 pounds and now I am starting to research plastic surgery. I had a consultation with Dr Lyos in Houston but I am looking for other frame of reference so i would like to get a few other consolations to see what my options are. My insurance won't cover anything this will all will be self pay. I am a little overwhelmed in the quote I got for a tummy tuck and thigh lift but you do what ya gotta do I guess. I am also thinking I'd be more satisfied with a lower body lift instead of just at tummy tuck. I would like to find something a little cheaper but I understand you get what you pay for and I don't want to risk reduced quality of care just to save a few bucks. I also refuse to go to Mexico. I think that is crazy. I read some good things about Dr. Lamonico in Houston. anyone know about his prices or have had procedures done by him. There are a few surgeons in the town i live in. I live in Beaumont which is about 80 miles from houston. anybody had work done in beaumont?
  2. I dunno. It never hurt. I just eat til I'm full then I stop

  11. oh good. I'm glad I found some people in the area. I'm totally down for a meet up. I had surgery at the Southeasttexas bariatric center. They have monthly meetings but I'm always at work during the time they have them. We will have to coordinate a time and place. I was thinking possibly Sertinos in Beaumont.

  13. So I am officially a slow loser. Anyone else? I read so much about people who lost tons of weight really fast but I don't hear much about people losing slow. I know they exist. I mean I'm one of them so I know there has to be more. I had surgery on Nov 18 and I had lost 19 pounds in the 6 weeks prior to surgery. A week after surgery I hit stall for probably 3 weeks It was very frustrated but finally the scale started moving again and I felt better. So in the 9 weeks since surgery I have lost about 25 pounds. At first I felt very defeated since I kept reading about people dropping tons of weight really quick. Now I have come to terms with it. I'm doing everything the right way so as long as the scale keeps going down then i'm ok with it.
  14. so I'm a couple of days away from being 6 weeks out. I'm on soft foods and I've been eating a lot of fish, eggs, and rotisserie chicken. Tonight I'm meeting a friend for dinner. It will be the 1st time out to a restaurant since surgery. For some reason I'm nervous about it. We are going to Fuzzy's taco shop. I've already scoped out the menu and I'm going to get baja grilled shrimp soft taco or fish taco. I'm planning on just eating the shrimp and or fish because I'm not sure if I can eat corn tortillas. I know i'm supposed to stay away from breads til week 7 but i'm not sure about tortillas. Anyone know corn tortillas or ok to eat at this point?

    Sushi

My surgery is next week and I just wondering about something. My dietician said to stay away from sticky rice as in sushi. Does that mean forever? I think that sushi is the best thing on the planet so I would be sad to see it go. I understand if it would be awhile before my stomach could handle the rice but I'm hoping down the road a few pieces would be ok. There is always sashimi which will be fine I assume. Anybody have experience with sushi?

    Sushi

@@junejune00 hi! I live in Beaumont. I got sleeved in November. I love sushi too but I haven't had it yet since surgery. I've only eat sashimi which is still really good to me. I know some people that eat rice with no problem but I'm trying to stay away from the carbs so I don't Pasta, rice, or bread. Good luck to ya! Where were you sleeved?
  17. so I've been on the hunt for some low car high Protein pancake recipes. I found a lot that called for wheat flour or some sort of rolled oat. So I know that white flour is a no no but wheat flour is ok?
  18. So I am on my clear liquid week and I am sick of chicken broth. Does Miso Soup count as a clear liquid? hope so
  19. I hear so much about everyone losing their hair. Is there anyone out there that hasn't lost their hair? I'm about 9 weeks post op and I hear its about the 3 mo mark. I get about 70 grams of Protein a day so I hope I won't. So anyone out there that didn't lose their hair?

    Beaumont, TX- Dr. Schrapps

$12450. That is the hospital fee, anesthesia, and the doctor fee.
  21. This is so frustrating. I had surgery on nov 18 so Im almost 2 months out from surgery. I'm eating way better than I ever have. I average about 70 grams of Protein a day and between 700-900 calories a day. I can't seem to lose any weight though. I lost 20 pounds in the 2 months before surgery. I lost 10 pounds the 1st week of surgery then nothing for weeks. I'm not sure how long my stall lasted because I didn't weigh for a long time but it was at least 3 weeks long. I finally weighed because my clothes fit better and I lost an inch. I lost 10 pounds. So now 2 weeks later I decided to stand on the scale and I lost nothing! I guess this is how this is going to go. Lose a little bit then stall for 2 weeks then repeat over and over again. I don't eat junk. I focus on protein. I track everything I eat on myfitnesspal.com my screen name is "ucjes" if you would like to go check out my food diary and see what I'm eating. Any pointers would be appreciated. I've also been walking about 3 days a week. The only thing I can think of that I'm doing right is I"m not getting enough Water in. Would that just completely stall me out though? I'm not even eating 1000 calories a day! This is ridiculous! I'm not weighing for another 2 weeks. By the way inches aren't moving either. This is why I threw the scale up in the closet. It causes me too much anxiety.
  22. ok. so I sucked down 60 oz of Water today. Yay for me..now i feel like i'm drowning...lol That is just a lot of water to drink everyday but I'm going to work on doing that.
