I'm being sleeved soon. Men with a pre op weight of 300-330lbs, what is your ultimate maintenance weight? How long did it take you to get there?
I am 305 and I'd like to be about 230.
Thanks

Hi' date=' I'm able to eat a lot more now. My dinner is the biggest which is an entree plate. Just over half of the plate is made of Protein then 1/2 a cup of green veg and if I can fit it in a teeny tiny bit of carbs. I generally can't eat it all but I try and get in as much Protein as possible.[/quote']How many bites do you think that is total ?
-
How much are you May sleepers able to eat per meal? How many bites ?
-
Is there anyone else who is or was afraid of only eating 8 bites per meal? Or the fear of totally wanting more but not being able to ?
-
What were your biggest pre-op fears or concerns? Now that your sleeved, did those fears or concerns come true ? In hindsight, was it waste of time for you to have those pre-op worries now that you know better?
My biggest fear is that a year after I'm sleeved, I will want more than 8 bites for dinner. I am afraid that , although I lost the 60-70lbs that I want to lose, that I will want to eat more than 8 bites for a meal. I am sooo fixated on this fear it's killing me. My surgery is set for Tuesday.

Anyone here worried about losing too much weight? Will your doctor make your sleeve a limitless bigger ?
Thanks

Do men end up with more sleeve capacity than women ? I assume that in general men's stomach are larger pre-op so would it follow that men's sleeve are larger too? Just wondering.
Man or woman -how much do you eat at a meal?
-
I will be sleeved next week. I was wondering what eating is like 6, 9, 12, or more months after the surgery. How much are you eating for a meal? How many bites? Do you feel like you are deprived because you are not able to eat more? I'm worried that I will have this new world of feeling constantly deprived.
Just curious.

Can I ask - what does a typical meal ( quantities ) look like for all of you ?
-
Was wondering how much (.5 cup, 1 cup etc) is everyone eating ? And how many weeks or months post-op are you?
I'm trying to prepare myself...

I'm on day 2 of liquid diet. Feeling tired, headachey, etc. Does this get better?? When?

I was wondering how far out post-op are you? And how many bites per meal are you typically having ?
-
I'm still pre-op. I was wondering how many bites are you able to eat for a meal? And also how many months post-op are you?
I'm trying to still get my head around this whole thing. Thanks a lot.

Not sleeved yet but was wondering what was more difficult - getting through the pre-op liquid diet or getting through post-op liquid diet ??
Your thoughts ?

I'm a 40 year old mans and am 300 lbs with a 42 bmi. I have always been above average in size - just not this big.
So what are my fears?
1. I fear the loss of eating what I want in large quantities. I fear the loss of comfort through food.
2. Only my wife knows. I fear that my family will think in nuts: "you're not that big , just exercise and diet". I fear that I might agree with them - out of fear.
3. I fear being different -a freak. What will dinner and drinks be like with our friends? I like to have a few too many drinks every once in a while.
4. I fear always having to think about this "disability" every meal time. Will it ever feel second nature?
Anyone have any thoughts on my fears ? Are yours similar? Should I be totally without fear before I actually go through with it?

Miitiga -I am Italian too. Everythibg you said totally applies to me. I'm not afraid of the surgery. I'm afraid of losing the comfort of food. Like an alcoholic misses his alcohol - but still understanding that he must abstain. I'm scheduled for 11/5. I'm totally scared that I will be a freak who will never enjoy food again.

How noticeable are the incisions three months after the surgery?
-
What percentage of excess weight did you lose before the weight loss stopped? Or before maintenance ?
-
The second part of my question is - what lie will fit our scenario the best? (2 night hospital stay, small laparoscopic scars, a week off if work, etc)
-
I am thinking about telling people I'm going in for a hernia surgery but I'm not sure if the specefics are similar to WLS. (Incisions, pain level, hospital time etc)
Will you lie? And if so what will you say?
-
Did any of you drive yourself home from the hospital? How was that?
