No one stayed with me. Mother in law dropped me off. Husband came and visited for an hour first night. Then he came late the next afternoon and picked me up.

Yes, maintenance is NOT the sexy part. It's important to find other things to excite and motivate. I struggle with this sometimes! I loved the loss and the attention and the focus and the payoff. For me my new toys are running and yoga. But even there I need to keep finding the new goals and things to work towards. I've done one marathon. Training for another but it's not new anymore. What are you doing to look for new things?

I was forced into the gastric sleeve.

Ummm ok yeah that's a 42 BMI, big difference from what's being presented here I think. Even if she was posting from an optimistic please mom way over there -
Ha ha! Well if I fall in love I will order several bottles of the slug slime next time because the name definitely rocks!
-
This one! The snail slime (or whatever it was) brand was only available as a 4 pack or with like $9 shipping! I know I will easily find $25 worth of stuff quickly.
-
Sadly I can't tolerate it post sleeve. I've tried. Different people have different tolerances though!

The bagel Spice is sitting in my amazon cart waiting for my next order! (It's an add on not prime so it may wait a few days!)

I keep saying I'm going to start quoting first posts with my responses. When will I ever learn?? I just read the whole thread hoping someone had done that! Dangit. Wish I could hear the whole story. -
You know what's funny? I run outside and typically 3-6 miles on an average day, and I struggle to get through 2-3 on a treadmill! Depends on what you're used to I guess!

jess9395 replied to CowgirlJane's topic in Regular foods (stage 4)
I guess like Protein shakes it's all a matter of taste/preference. I love these but can't stand Premier Protein which tons of you love! Tried this variation tonight-- Choc matrix Baking powder 1/3 banana Fairlife milk 0% plain fage on top Yum! -
There are a lot of smart phone apps. I used one called 5k runner that works with whatever music or whatever you like to listen to and cues you when to walk and run. I find races posted at a local running store, in the back of running magazines and at www.active.com

What Other Changes Have You Made?
jess9395 replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I went from being pretty much inactive to running 15-20 miles a week and completing races of up to a full marathon in length (training for my second now) and doing yoga 3-4 times a week. I also put myself first a lot more and take time for myself and spend money on myself. I try new things and am more outgoing and confident. -
Ok yum this is my new favorite thing! Just did--- vanilla Syntrax Matrix Baking powder Two tablespoon pumpkin purée (not pie mix) Pumpkin pie seasoning Fairlife milk Plain fage 0% Greek yogurt on top. I even got my 13 year old to try it (under duress) and he admitted it was "pretty good"

I'm gonna have to try and watch on my computer bc it has no sound on my phone but wanted to say.... DUDE! You are FIT!!! Looking good!

Just another post to say couch to 5k rocks! I just got one of those "two years ago" reminder thingies on Facebook that I did my first day of couch to 5k exactly two years ago!! Changed my life, seriously. Almost as much as the WLS did
-
Ok now I'm definitely ordering the spice!

Just discovered these and had to try them, so great for keeping a few in the car or gym bag! It's 25g whey Protein (mix of isolate, concentrate and hydrolysate so if you need isolate only it's not for you) 8g carb and 150cal PLUS electrolytes! It comes in this pouch like a juice drink and you mix with Water right in the pouch so you don't need a shaker bottle and they last like 18 months. I tried one and it's not quite as good as the Syntrax Matrix I like but not half bad. All natural with stevia/sugar blend (4g sugar). I wouldn't use it every day but perfect for emergency supply! I got it from their website but they have it on amazon and in stores too.

I'm not angry, but I don't like being called stupid or rudeness. I also didn't say throw out your tracker. -

jess9395 replied to Cape Crooner's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Just because I don't have an activity tracker and don't know how they work (giving total daily expenditure) doesn't make me stupid! My app only tracks exercise calories burned and I don't even trust that! And I wasn't rude either. Just trying to help. Goodness gracious. -

Try the Peanut Butter cookie Matrix!!! It's my favorite ever Protein powder. -
Alcohol and Weightloss
jess9395 replied to Cape Crooner's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Okay so your 3000 calories per day DOES include your BMR, is that what you're saying? That that is your total daily calorie expenditure? That's reasonable. Your initial post wasn't completely clear and most of us assumed that was supposed to be the additional calories you burned exercising. Thanks for clarifying. -
Alcohol and Weightloss
jess9395 replied to Cape Crooner's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
This. Running a marathon (26.2 miles) burns less than 3000 calories and takes most moderately fit people 4 hours or so. I would question your electronics. Unless they include your BMR in that (that's the amount you burn per day just living and breathing basically). Then maybe it's accurate.
