Maintaining goal weight - acceptable fluctuation?
jess9395 replied to Jewelgirl04's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I agree that it's a combo of ease of maintenance and health and making sure my clothes keep fitting! 135 ish is easy for me to maintain. If I got to 140 I'd sound the alarm. I did have a dream stretch goal of the 120's but it's not worth the struggle to me. My body is super happy at 134-137 and it's really hard to get it to move above or below that so its all good! -
Ack! Only Starbucks for the weekend

I'm still curious why a flat white with nonfat has so many more calories than a cappuccino with nonfat.... What's IN it to make up those calories? It's definitely sweeter. Has more carbs and more protein too. Is t just more milk? -

So if I order it nonfat it doesn't have any added sugar in the flat white? Cool! Cinnamon Dolce sounds wonderful I will ask if they have it at mine! -

I just read my post again...I apologize as I didn't mean for it to come across snotty, as I think it kind of did. That was not my intention. I have worked for Starbucks for 11 years and fortunately, as a perk, I get to try everything and test out a lot of different varieties without having to pay a fortune for doing so. Is the Starbucks you visit a freestanding store or a licensed store(inside a target, a freeway oasis, airport, grocery store, etc..)? Those tend to have more limited varieties than actual stores. Even with our variety, I still buy sugar free Torani syrups from a neighboring grocery store because they have such a huge selection and add to my tumbler to just add espresso and milk to. Oh you didn't sound snotty not at all! Sorry if my reply made it sound that way! I frequent two freestanding and those are the only SF ones on their menu. Maybe they have more they just don't put on the menu and I need to ask for? So if you work there here's a Q for you--I love the flat white! Why is the calorie and sugar count higher on those? What's actually in them? -

I stand corrected on the calories in espresso! But I'm jealous of your Starbucks! Ours only has sugar free vanilla, hazelnut and mocha. No other SF syrups! -
Is losing 30 pounds in 30 days do able?
jess9395 replied to CanadaLoser's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Yes it's possible. It's not predictable or sustainable. You may hit it (I did) but don't feel like a failure if you don't. -

Tall = smallest size cup (actually there's also a short but it's not on the menu). Normally they put one shot of espresso in drinks made for a size tall/small. If you ask for a double tall it's two shots of espresso in a tall/small. A cappuccino is espresso with mostly foamed milk and a little bit of steamed milk. A latte is espresso with steamed milk and a bit of foamed milk on top. A "dry" espresso is just the foamed milk no steamed milk. So basically what I order is two shots of espresso in a size small cup with just a little bit of foamed milk on top. The espresso is calorie free and the nonfat steamed milk is about 50 calories no fat and about 5g protein and 8g carbs from the milk -

jess9395 replied to Adina's_Journey's topic in The Gals' Room
Umm Yeah my incisions were nowhere near that low and I wasn't requested to shave and I didn't wake up shaved. Seems odd to me why they would need that area shaved. -
Glad you got t checked out and you are doing better!

Breast implants- considering them
jess9395 replied to naturegirl's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
The surgery was painful the implants not so much! I was told I didn't have enough breast tissue/fat left in my breasts to get the gummy bear implants, they would show beneath. Same with the saline ones--on those the corners/edges would show. So I have regular silicone dual plane placement (half under and half over the muscle). I never ever dreamed I would get implants! I always had huge ones. Not anymore. -
Has anyone here had VSG surgery after they have previously had their gallbladders removed?
jess9395 replied to Fitgirl2be's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes had my gallbladder out a little less than a year before my sleeve surgery and had no complications at all. -

Mmmmm my newest version-- Carrot Cake! Shredded a carrot Mixed with (stay with me) baby food puréed carrots Added allspice, cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg and ground ginger (could use pumpkin pie spice) Mixed with vanilla Syntrax matrix and the baking powder and a splash fairlife milk. Topped with low fat cream cheese mixed half and half with fage 0% Viola, carrot cake!

Shouldn't high calorie be a plus for you? Here are the nutritional facts on the nutritional yeast I just bought, seems good to me! -
Go see someone, your health and comfort is worth it. If it's the ER so be it!
-
Yikes yeah I'd go see someone--a GP or walk in clinic if you don't want to go to the ER

Alcohol and Weightloss

Nothing is inherently wrong with oatmeal. Some people limit carbs either because that's their plan or because it's a choice they've made or because after experimenting they've found out its what works for them. Oatmeal is kind of an in betweener carb. It's not like refined sugar, white bread, white potatoes, white rice or Cookies which have little nutritional value but it's more calorie dense and less nutrition than the more complex carbs like green vegetables. It's like whole wheat bread, sweet potatoes, etc. some avoid them some don't. I avoided it during my loss phase but use it now once or twice a week during maintenance.
