Why can't I reply to posts from the app?
jess9395 replied to jess9395's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm on an iPhone too! And it only has -end- at the end (see screen cap photo). The web version on Safari has the reply bar, just not the app. -
If it's nerve pain there are non narcotic options. I had a severed nerve after wrist surgery a year and a half ago, then more surgery to fix it (which didn't work very well). Ask your doc about Neurontin. It's specific to nerve pain and it's non narcotic so no "high" feeling. Though the lyrica shouldn't make you feel high either.

Can a Icee stretch your pouch
jess9395 replied to Tmitch817's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I read that whole link and saw no "proof" to support for claim that straws cause ulcers or stretching (pouch OR sleeve). And all it is is a link to a post on another message board not a scholarly article or even a doctors answer... Yes a doctor did say "what she said" but there are doctors all over that disagree on this very subject (stretching/straws). So please reconsider your idea of "proof." -
This can not be correct! (Bra talk)
jess9395 replied to Nurse_Lenora's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Yes on the wacoal bras!!!! I'm now a 32DDD and love my wacoal bras! Lost them all and has to get them put back where they belong and get implants... Which I never would have imagined back when I was a 42G! For sports bras I agree get the ones that are band and cup size and come up higher. I run in my moving comfort Juno and rebound racer ones right now, but I also like panache and the ultimate run bra. -
Congratulations!!!!! You rock!

Woo hoo! Congrats!

I use it all the time and every now and then it will glitch out like this when it doesn't get good reception--not sure if it's just not getting 3G/4G cell reception or GPS or what...did it on my last half marathon race and made me so mad! But 9/10 times it works great,

Phantom Fat/Body Dysmorphia

Yes! With me it's the face too! I have gotten to the point where I can totally pull a garment off the rack and know if it will fit, no matter the number on the size tag--I can see it's a "big" 2 or a "small" 6 and will fit. But I totally think my face looks much older, and am told I'm being silly and it doesn't. -
I've made cauliflower crust pizza with and for my family a number of times. They do like it. They still want the "real thing" but I can get away with it less often. We do cauliflower crust pizza about twice a month and regular crust once a month

Look up oopsie bread on here or just google it. It's made from eggs and cream Cheese. I've made pizza on that!

Let's talk about some NSV for the week
jess9395 replied to GibbsGirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks for that. I read the whole thing and didn't really find a solution to my problem. It basically suggests in the end that you might have to double-up on compression bras, which is what I do. I will definitely try some anti-chafing creams or whatnot moving forward. I hear the tape trick works. I use body glide elsewhere on occasion. Is your bra moisture wicking? That helps. And making sure it fits properly (tight enough) so your nipples don't move against the fabric. I use moving comfort (Juno or rebound racer) or shock absorber run bra. There's no friction because they don't move at all! -

OMG! Can I just say how glad I am this hasn't been a problem for me? You poor thing! Might a different sports bra make a difference? -
I have literally NEVER heard of that happening. Has anyone else ever heard of that? Honestly, that sounds like an old wives' tale -- or something he says to scare patients into not eating slider foods during the honeymoon weight loss period. Ditto never ever heard of that. Why wouldn't stomach acid dissolve a dough ball?

NO pre-op diet? How much did you lose?
jess9395 replied to dlfnjgirl's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I had no pre op diet. Lost 136lbs (271 to 135) and have kept it off over a year. -
I do toppings only at over two years out still. It satisfies the craving and bread doesn't sit well with me and I prefer to avoid it for nutritional reasons anyhow. Or I do cauliflower crust pizza. Search for it here or on the Internet.

I was told no heavier than a gallon of milk

I was back to most normal activity in a week, but I haven't been able to pick up my kids since! Of course they are 13 and 17 and taller than me, LOL! Seriously though they recommend avoiding heavy lifting for a month.

Did anyone not have a drain?
jess9395 replied to rgallardo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No drain -
I am with your boyfriend, please follow your surgeons instructions. Hopefully you hired the surgeon because you trusted their medical opinion. We did not get to be obese by listening to our bodies. We aren't good at it, plus we have no medical training. You just had major surgery and had your stomach cut apart and sewn back together. I would listen to the medical professional. I understand what you are going though. I have been there, but it's not forever. This too shall pass and be a distant memory.

Blood thinner injections
jess9395 replied to songsmith's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's how I received mine too. Well except the syringes were in those bubble packs like when they put individual pills on a sheet with a bubble around each. Never would have occurred to me that they should provide the alcohol wipes or whatever. I figured that was my job to provide. Theirs is just to provide the medicine.
