    Coffee

Check your plan or ask your doc. Mine was fine with it after a week
  2. Hmmmm fruits, vegetables and high Fiber Cereal are all on there pretty early out. Those are complex carbs. Which ones are you scared to give up? I am 2.5 years out and still can't really eat some of them at all--brown rice, whole wheat bread both do a number on my stomach. I can do Beans and sweet potatoes but really limit the sweet potatoes to a couple of times a year. Your tastes and tolerances may change... Hopefully the tastes do (mine did). Honestly keeping to a very strict plan with little "cheating" till I was at goal REALLY helped me establish new tastes and eating habits. Now I indulge on occasion (this morning I had half a donut and half a scone at an awards reception for my daughter) and then I could walk away. I firmly believe it's because I committed to that year and made new patterns/habits/tastes that will now last a lifetime.

    Quest Bar

GNC and Vitamin Shoppe carry them. The quest website itself is easy to order from and has quick shipping. Try a bag before you buy them in bulk. They are the one quest product I don't like. However my 17 year old daughter who is allergic to potatoes loves them, go figure!

    Quest Bar

Re read the whole thread, that is discussed up thread. Many people count net carbs, as in take the total carbs (my Quest bar wrapper here says 26) subtract the Fiber grams as they are "good carbs" (my wrapper says 17) and some subtract the sugar alcohol grams as well because of how they are digested (wrapper says 6g erythritol). So 26-17 = 9 net carbs Or 26-17-6 = 3 net carbs As someone else said unthread her nutritionist doesn't agree with that. Mine does. You need to find out your doctor or nutritionist recommendations on that or if you don't have that option do your own research and form an educated opinion.

    Wendy's chilli

Huh... I was cleared for it earlier than most I guess. I could have it at 2-3 weeks can't remember which. And it was a staple for me for quite a while. Course I could maybe ear 1/3 of a small (no cheese no onions). Now I can do about half a small and occasionally add the cheese and onions. I am 2.5 years out.

    Brachioplasty Surgery

I honestly don't think the idea of no jiggle at all may be realistic. My arms are very toned through yoga, but I still have a little left. They just can't cut too close because of all the arteries and nerves. But toning will certainly help to a degree.Yeah I know there will be a little jiggle and I know they are definitely better than before. I just want them to be as toned as possible. Do you mind me asking what type of yoga poses and all that I can do? I've already done about 300 curls today with 4 lb weight. Lol I go to mostly Vinyasa and Ashtanga classes.... But I got started with YouTube videos--go there and look up Erin Moetz or "one bad yogi." I love her videos! Great place to start. I attribute my arms to vinyasa... You can look on YouTube for vinyasa or chatturungha dandasana. It's a process--I could NOT do that at first but worked my way up. I really think classes are the best because an instructor can help you modify for your limitations but still get the most out of a pose! They will also help with your alignment so you can grow without injury!

  8. I was lucky I was back in my jeans at doing most things at two weeks, but got tired very quickly! I had tummy tuck, Breast lift/aug and arm lift at same time.
  9. I lost 135lbs and got to goal in almost exactly a year. I had my plastics at 18 months. My skin did tighten a significant amount in those six months and I think my results were better for it. I had everything done in one big surgery but I had a by less than you have planned. I had breast lift/augment, arm lift and tummy tuck. My surgeon limits himself to 8 hour surgeries and he felt he could accomplish those in that time because I needed no liposuction (I had run and yoga'd my way to 17% body fat). I had some interest in a thigh lift as well but he couldn't do all four and his goal was to have me so happy with those three I didn't want to do the 4th. He succeeded. He says in his experience people aren't as satisfied with the thigh results as they are with the others. After burn, yes! I got much hungrier. Protein helped. I added extra shakes for healing.

    Ignorance, Senility, or NSV?

@@mngreeneyes I'm so sorry they have told you they can't recommend it just because there isn't much research and they just "don't know." Personally I think that's a silly reason. If you are mindful and careful what is the danger? Here's my story... Overweight most of my life, truly obese following having my kids. Yo-yo-ing up and down the scale for years. Never much of an athlete after I quit swim team at age 10. In high school PE I was one of the girls walking in the back when everyone did runs. I started couch to 5k at a few weeks post op. Did my first 5k 4 months post op, had to walk about a third. First 10k 9 months post op. First half marathon 10 months post op. First full marathon 1.5 years post op. Can't tell you how many 5k's, 10k's and half's I've done but I have placed second in my age group and that same 5k I did my first one at the 2nd and 3rd time I did the same race post op, regularly place 1/2nd at 5 and 10k's and am doing my second full marathon next weekend! Don't let them tell you you can't. Sure injury is possible and yes you will often get hungrier when you're running. But be mindful and deliberate. Check how your joints and muscles are feeling and adjust accordingly. Develop a nutrition plan and stick to it, maybe adjust to the increase in hunger but not sure if I'd say "listen to your body" for food, we got fat listening to our bodies. Anyhow just wanted to say it can be done! I'm 2.5 years out and far below the goal weight my surgeon set for me. 17% body fat, wear a size 4 and am very healthy!

    Brachioplasty Surgery

Your arms look SOOOO much better. Did you discuss expectations with your surgeon? Mine was careful I didn't have realistic expectations, especially with arms and thighs. He said you can only cut so much because there are a LOT of nerves and arteries in the arms and it's easy to cut too close to them and sever things. He warned me they wouldn't be perfectly tight. I didn't have any lipo bc my body fat was only 17% at the day of surgery, but that is often done as well so that is another possibility.

    Sushi

I could eat the fish a month out from surgery. I still can't do the rice it gives me a stomach ache and I am over 2.5 years out

    B up bars

It's all a matter of personal taste/preference. I like the B up bars fine, but I like quest bars better and then the power crunch ones, and I don't like the Oh Yeah or Premier ones and they are popular among people on here. Texture wise they are closer to the quest bars than they are to anything else.

    Don't waste your money

It's nice you are able to afford that! Wish I could! Something that worked for me was to purchase at second hand stores and stores like TJMaxx and Marshalls. I've gotten really high quality stuff barely used or even new at second hand stores very cheaply.
  15. Am I missing something? I am logged in and can like, but I have to click web view for a reply option. Help! I haven't posted in like weeks because I can't figure t out and don't like the web view on my phone--too tiny! I thought I was pretty tech savvy but I'm flummoxed
  16. Thanks all, yes I logged out and then back in and now it works. Just restarting the app wasn't doing it for me, but that did! Appreciate your help!

    Protein bars

Quest bars are mr favorite and then I like the power crunch after that

    Bariatric athletes/triathletes

Well count me in!!! Actually my second full marathon! Did the same one last year. I've lost count on the halfs we are lucky in California we can run outside all year long! But yes my firsts were all very enjoyable!
  21. Okay that's so weird... I logged out and then all of a sudden the reply bar was there, logged back in and it stayed. Well whatever it was, thanks for talking me through it so I could see it was something amiss rather than something I just couldn't figure out!

    Bariatric athletes/triathletes

Isn't that what this section of the forum is for? Or do you mean one specific to competition/race stuff? Count me in. I run and dabble in triathlons. I won first in my age group in a 10k this past weekend. Running my second full marathon at the end of the month. Lots of other races. Never ran pre op, started with couch to 5k at a few weeks post op and went from there.
  23. But that isn't what you said, you said "look here's proof" and posted that link. That link didn't prove anything, and didn't even mention the ulcer issue, which I have yet to see any information on anywhere. And now you're telling me to google to find the proof? Nope that's okay. I will just walk away. SMH.
  24. That's crazy! Mine doesn't. There's nothing below that end word on mine at all! I thought maybe I wasn't logged in or something, but I can "like" posts so I must be, right?
  25. I don't use straws and I don't drink icees (and yes there are sugar free ones at 7-11). But my point is you didn't provide any proof. I am a stickler for accuracy in language. I'm glad you listen to/trust your doctor. But "proof" is not ambiguous, it's concrete. I think one of the problems with everyone's doctors giving different advice is there just ISN'T a lot of proof to these things, so we have to chose a doctor and trust their expert OPINIONS.
