    My NUT is a nut

Oh wait, you fired your surgeon five weeks out because his assistant suggested eating less pasta and more protein and veggies. I guess you do know best.

    My NUT is a nut

I wish I could believe like you do, but that kind of thinking got me to almost 300lbs. No the worst case scenario isn't that my head will explode, it's that I will wind up back there again.

    Charleyhorse?

Electrolytes in general--potassium, sodium, magnesium... Pretty sure banana protein shakes are artificially flavored and have no real potassium. Try a low sugar electrolyte replacement like power ade zero, g2 from Gatorade or Nuun. Pickle juice or mustard will provide quick relief if they are on your plan (it's what I use when I run to stop them).
  4. Only use UNWEETENED non dairy milks
  5. I don't have a band, I had the sleeve. But one of the great quotes in this forum is they operate on your stomach not your head. Whatever issues we have with food (and I have been a binge eater) the stomach surgery is only one tool and it won't solve them. Have you done therapy to figure out what is behind the binge eating? If not I highly recommend it. I did a couple of years of therapy before my sleeve and still have those "is this a hunger cookie or an anger cookie" moments. On too of that, maintenance Isn't sexy. It's not the rush and the thrill with all the validation that losing is. It's boring and doesn't provide rewards the way losing does, so it's not nearly as motivating. I have to admit I clicked here because my nephew takes Vyvance for ADD and is underweight... I'm sure his parents are on top of it, but it definitely seems to kill his appetite.
  6. According to the American society for metabolic and bariatric surgery: "As many as 50 percent of patients may regain a small amount of weight (approximately 5 percent) two years or more following their surgery. " If they mean 5% from bottom weight that fits my regain (5% of 135 is 6.75lbs). Interesting! Of course they go on to say... "However, longitudinal studies find that most bariatric surgery patients maintain successful weight-loss long-term. ‘Successful’ weight-loss is arbitrarily defined as weight-loss equal to or greater than 50 percent of excess body weight. Often, successful results are determined by the patient, by their perceived improvement in quality of life. In such cases, the total retained weight-loss may be more, or less, than this arbitrary definition. Such massive and sustained weight reduction with surgery is in sharp contrast to the experience most patients have previously had with non-surgical therapies." https://asmbs.org/patients/bariatric-surgery-misconceptions
  7. Did you read a study that said 20? I know most people do "rebound" but I would love to see studies that show numbers. Mine was only 5-7. Just the average my surgeon quotes. Some gain a lot more, some a lot less. Mine was 12 I wonder if there is a study out there he bases that on or if it's from his own personal observation from his own patients.

    Back fat?!

Ditto what has been said! Can't spot reduce and can't tone fat. Just keep going and eventually it will go.
  9. Totally agree on the body fat thing too. If you can get a DEXA scan or equivalent it will tell you LOADS! At my heaviest I was 52% body fat and my lowest 17%. Right now I'm at 18% which is why I don't care about the 5-7lb regain.

  11. Neither my doctor nor I set a goal. I wanted to be healthy. I had some intermediate goals set... Under 200, loose 100 lbs (put me at 171) get down to my wedding weight (165) my lowest adult weight (155). I figured I would always know if when I got there. I lost down to 135. It's a struggle to stay there. My body likes 140-145 and I'm good with that!

    SUSHI !

Everyone's plan is different. In order for it to count for mine I would have had to put it in the blender and puréed it for it to be puréed food. Check your doctors information or consult with their office if it isn't specified.

    Icelandic Skyr

They had a pumpkin spice flavor last year j hope they bring it back!!!
  14. Google is your friend: https://www.flapjacked.com/collections/mighty-muffins I eat them a couple of times a month in maintenance. I wouldn't have eaten them during my losing phase... Too many carbs to support my weight loss personally.
  15. My experience was like @@LipstickLady surgery Wednesday back in action Monday and fully functional two weeks out.

    Freaking Out!

You've got this Jamie!!! Try to hit your goal if that's what you think you need... But know it can be done without. I did my first marathon at 1.5 years out and wasn't close to that many carbs and hit the wall around mile 22 and finished running and smiling! Second time a year later I got in a few more carbs (I go by that article above about just focusing on the carbs I was eating already) and made it to mile 24 before my legs felt like lead... And that was the extent of the wall that year. Finished even stronger. My advice... Hold back, go slower than you think you need to for the first half. Then if you're feeling good you can kick it up a notch. Don't try to "bank time" early in the race in case you hit the wall. That's what I did the first time and it hurt! The second time I paced myself and held back the first half. Was feeling good and went faster the second half and it was SO MUCH BETTER that way! But however you do it, just go and have fun! You've trained you've done the work, the race is the icing on the cake!

    Well- definitely NOT covered

My TT arm lift and Breast lift w implants was $23K all done at once so I saved $ that way
  20. jess9395

    Well- definitely NOT covered

Mine didn't cover my plastics either... It has very strict guidelines like the pannus must hit below the pubic bone (mine didn't) and things like that. Rashes, etc didn't change that.

    Two Year Surgiversary

Congrats!!! I'm right there with you about "weight maintenance surgery" that's the way I look at it too, and you are rocking maintenance! Good luck with the marathon this weekend!

    My walk yesterday

    Beautiful trails! I'm jealous. Congrats!!!!
  23. School open house, visiting student run displays when my daughter was a junior. Kids she had gone to school with for years, since like first grade who had come over to my house didn't recognize me.

    Sizes clearly mean nothing

As someone said above... The sizes have much more wiggle room the higher you go. When I was in plus sizes it took about 40-50lbs to drop a size... Then in regular sizes the double digits were more like 10-20. Now when I put on 5lbs here or there my size 4's get tight.
  25. I started at 271 and I think mind became prominent after I went below maybe 170, so for me it took a while. Your question struck me because I was at a race a while ago and some male runners on my team were chatting about online dating, and they said that was how they could tell if a woman was heavy and just working camera angles so her pic looked thin. If they could see collar bones the woman qualified. Weird!
