    Middle of the night gnawing....

That's how acid felt to me and I had to increase my PPI and take a second one before bed for a couple of months. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App And yes eating made the acid go away for me, still was acid not hunger. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Salads

Everyone's plan is different. What does yours say? Mine said six weeks but it still didn't sit well with me till maybe 4-6 months. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Noodles

It's not that we hate food that is just tasty and not healthy it's that we prioritize weight loss and maintenance over those foods. I also think my idea of moderation is different than yours. Yes I do eat those types of foods in moderation. But to me moderation mean when I got close to goal and maintenance I began to add them as treats a couple of times a month. Not when I was soon post op or when I was losing. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Brown rice

Almost three years out and rice still doesn't agree with me. What does your plan say? Rice can be especially hard on incision lines and smaller stomachs and pouches because of the way it expands. I tried to avoid all foods I felt addicted to in order to break those habits and eliminate the psychological hold food had over me for long term success. ...trouble with binge eating....

I don't know how old you are but my calculations put you as underweight.... I would really recommend you see both a registered dietician to figure out how to eat for fuel properly and a therapist to deal with the bingeing. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  11. What does your plan say? That would be fine with some doctors plans, too little on others and perhaps too much on some (though I can't imagine that honestly). The important part is what YOUR plan says Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Less and less food

Just to pile on on the Protein cake part... I make mine with Syntrax Matrix and for the liquid I have used Water, milk, non-dairy milk (almond) and even sugar free torani syrups. They are awesome! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. There are definite metabolic changes that happen with the surgery apart from the portion restriction. This podcast interview is the best I have heard on the subject: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/weight-loss-surgery-podcast/id662443588?mt=2&i=373855300 Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Less and less food

Anything I eat, i now eat less of. Also, probably totally unrelated, I turn my nose up at ANY kind of meat. I just don't like it. I crave salad and veggies. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I would consult with your surgeon. There's always a small possibility of a structure and you want to rule that out. I don't think the food preferences are related though. Make sure you're getting your Protein in! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Shot to Reduce Risk of Blood Clots

I had to (44 at the time of surgery). They were really easy subcutaneous short needles. No problem. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  20. Like @@Bufflehead said... not only would I do it again, I would go through the surgery and post op trauma repeatedly, annually if I had to, to keep these results! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Eating Out

People don't notice what we eat as much as we think they do. I order an appetizer or split with my husband or daughter (or my teen son eats his and the rest of mine) or I take home leftovers. I'm three years out and still can't eat half a restaurant meal. It's shocking to me now how much food is served. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Less and less food

When you say you can eat less, do you mean of the same food? Like you could eat a 5oz Greek yogurt and now you can only eat half? Or you could eat 2oz of chicken breast and now you can't? Is it consistently less or do you have hit and miss days? If it's pretty consistent and with the same foods I would bring it to your surgeons attention because there is a small chance you could have a structure (a narrowing from scar tissue basically). If somedays can eat more and some less or you can just eat less chicken than cottage cheese then yeah I would say it's pretty normal. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  24. Right I should say they say their 15g is EQUIVALENT to most brands 30g, because since grams are weight you can't get 30g in 15g. But there is the potential to get absorption of an equivalent amount of Protein. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
