Thanks! Yeah before plastics I was at a 32L (long) I used to joke! But strangely I wore the same size bra before and after--32DDD. When I rolled em up and stuffed them in they filled it out and after the small implants did.

What do you eat for breakfast when you are tired of eggs?
jess9395 replied to Sosewsue61's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Protein mug cake - scoop of protein powder, 1/4 tsp baking powder and enough liquid or mashed fruit to make it a paste (like 2T maybe) then microwave for 45 sec -

Weight loss doing great, but darn, I'm always hungry!!!
jess9395 replied to gwbicster's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I will disagree here. I think one can make reasonable fast food choices part of a healthy Bariatric diet. I have incorporate things like Wendy's chili, chick fil a grilled nuggets, grilled chicken from mc Donald's, chicken from chipotle, etc. into my diet on an occasional basis from early on. I've lost 135 lbs (half my starting weight) kept it off for more than three years so far and still going strong. Is home cooked food better? For sure! Ideally we would eat clean unprocessed whole food all the time. My life is not ideal. I have always followed my best practices diet. I didn't eat a piece of bread, a potato, rice or pasta for over a year. I still only eat them every couple of months. But high protein fast food that fits my macros in small portions fits my plan and my surgeons. I don't think this is a slippery slope. But there are different paths to success. These are fine tuning the details. We aren't arguing about whether it's OK to eat a piece of pizza or a donut. I think this is one where we can just disagree. -
I think you will be thrilled!!! My plastics were truly life changing!

You are entitled to your opinion, but make sure it's made from and educated Place not an emotional one. Complication rates: http://asmbs.org/resources/studies-weigh-in-on-safety-and-effectiveness-of-newer-bariatric-and-metabolic-surgery-procedure Lower than hip replacement or gallbladder surgery.

Actually VSG has a history dating back to 1988 when it was used as a first stage to the duodenal switch. Many patients never had the second stage which is why it gained popularity and research began to support it as a stand alone procedure. It's been growing as a stand alone since 2000 so that's 17 years there, even if you don't count the "unfinished" DS from before-- http://bariatrictimes.com/the-history-of-sleeve-gastrectomy/ Don't even get ME started on the false data that linked autism to vaccines or the fact that antidepressants don't cause suicidal ideation, they cause the depressed person to begin to lift out of the lack of energy and motivation to actually have the wherewithal to ACT on the ideas. Yes medicine is a practice. But when best performed it's based on the BEST AVAILABLE SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE. everything is always weighing the possible benefits against the possible risks. Find a medical professional you trust. Together weigh the options and decide on the best course for you!

Yes! Totally! Drink the protein waters if that helps! And as everyone said focus on the fluid first the protein will come

I always order a water because it's easier! Sharing is always my go to, because no one questions that! Hubby eats 80% and I eat 20%. Or he and the kids order and I say "I'm just gonna eat part of theirs" -
When did you start working out after VSG
jess9395 replied to shericrazylady's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums

I have to give you props! You are one of the few posters who really seems open to and want advice rather than justification for your actions! I believe you will do well! Wendy's chili is fine! I mean better to eat unprocessed, but so much better than the alternatives!!!! The nuggets not so much. As others have said next time do grilled chicken--snack wrap gives you less to throw out and some cashiers even know how to ring up a "side" of a grilled chicken breast! Always ask!!!! -

Yes it's different in that it treats acid after its releases while omeprazole and protonix block it from being produced. Might be worth a tweak. But as was stated above it could be "head hunger" as well. -
Ahhh thanks re the BBL, got it! My surgeons goal with my surgery was that I would be so happy with what I had--arms, tummy tuck & breasts--that I wouldn't need to do the rest that was on my list--thighs and butt. So far he's achieved that. I'm almost two years post plastics and thrilled. Every now and then I think about my wrinkly thighs and flat butt, but I'm 48 so not gonna be perfect anyhow and what I had done was life changing truly! The rest is fine as long as I'm not in short shorts or a string bikini!

Gastric Bypass and Hiking?
jess9395 replied to amiaghost's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It takes a bit, but eventually you can consume a normal amount of water. You just need to be careful of "gulping" too much at once. I am four years out and at goal and i am a runner. I run half and full marathons (some trail ones) and have never had any trouble saying hydrated or consuming enough calories. You may have to do a bit of experimenting to find what works for you, but there are plenty of us "bari-athletes" that make it work just fine! -

Are you on an acid reducer like omeprazole/protonix? In many of us stomach acid can feel just like hunger early out, it did for me! None of the acidy heartburn just a gnawing hunger sensation that went away when my acid medication was properly adjusted. If you aren't on one ask your doc for one or try an over the counter one. Or see about an increased dose. -

Try some things that are almost a purée anyhow like refried beans, cottage cheese, yogurt, ricotta bake (ricotta cheese with spaghetti sauce basically but to a search). -
What's a BBL? I chose arm lift, tummy tuck and breast lift/aug myself

Search for week 3 stall, it's really common! You're possibly just on the early side of it. -

Guys it's a week or two.... you CAN power through. Have more confidence in yourself. Two weeks is a blink of an eye, it will be over SOOOOO soon! You've got this! -
I love oikos triple zero but just to clarify it has zero grams ADDED sugar. The natural milk sugar (lactose) ranges from 6-8g depending on the flavor.

How much weight did you lose after your tummy tuck?
jess9395 replied to onmyway11's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I think it varies a lot, especially if you have lipo/contouring with the skin removal. I had no lipo at all and with just the skin removal--arms, tummy tuck and breast lift w implants, I "broke even". I had 310cc implants so that added a bit of weight. -
Well that's up to you actually not him. He may feel a fleur de lis might give you the best results, but you can still have a normal one. I really suggest you see a couple of plastic surgeons and decide whose aesthetic and goals fit with yours. I saw four and emailed with two more before I decided and am thrilled with my results.
