    NO Carbonated beverages- FOREVER!

Don't get me wrong, I don't drink soda, even diet, haven't since the month before my surgery for years ago. BUT carbonation can't stretch your sleeve. I don't believe you have to spread misinformation in order to get people make the eating choices you think they should. That's what I'm arguing against in this thread. Some posters don't agree with me. Heck some surgeons don't agree with me. I am just saying let people who WANT science and facts get it. Then they can make the choices they want to make. Don't feed them a line of crap to keep their choices limited because you don't trust them to make the decisions you think are right.
  3. Donated everything except this pair of pants so I could do this....

    NO Carbonated beverages- FOREVER!

Cheezits can not enter my house or I'd be 271 lbs again in about two weeks!! And that my friend is FACT

    NO Carbonated beverages- FOREVER!

Eye roll. And you have a gorgeous evening! Some people are here to actually learn. Please don't stand in their way with worthless feel good platitudes. Just move along to the threads where you can tell each other how wonderful you all are and the only thing that matters is what you BELIEVE. I've lost 135 and kept it off four years now listening to people who can back up what they say with science. I'd like to share that with the people who would like a similar path. Multiple paths to the same end I'm sure, but don't discount people who want to hear science not platitudes.

Great! Stick with that instead of that junk with corn syrup and sugar

    NO Carbonated beverages- FOREVER!

Truth is truth. There is no your truth and my truth. There is not alternative truth. Science is science. If you chose not to believe science and truth, bully for you, but don't perpetuate it.

    Disovering new levels of fun!

Yes!!!! Isn't it wonderful? I love doing new things with my kids. I wish I had done it earlier when they were younger.
  9. Are you on an acid reducer? Stomach acid can mimic hunger--growling gnawing empty feeling. It did for me so my surgeon upped my dose and I was fine. If you're hungry for a specific thing, and the allowed foods aren't doing it for you, it may be head hunger.

Best Apps for tracking food & exercise?

My fitness pal does that as well. It used to be part of the "free" app but I think you may need to upgrade for that now

    Post op protein shakes

For the clear liquid part I used Isopure and syntrax nectar. There are some newer ones on the market these days too, perhaps someone can recommend some. But ensure compact isn't a clear liquid

Second ingredient is corn syrup and fourth is sugar!

Those would NOT fit on my plan, way too many carbs/sugar and not enough protein.

Best Apps for tracking food & exercise?

I used My Fitness Pal daily till I got to goal and loved it. So easy to use and syncs with my scale and my running app (Map My Run). I've been in maintenance for three years and still use it to check in once in a while to make sure I'm still on track.

    Protein bars?

Kind bars are amazing whole food ingredients but had too many carbs for me in the weight loss phase. I love power crunch and quest, but at six weeks could only eat about half of a bar.

    1st restaurant experience post op

Could have been head hunger, but for me it would likely have been the couple bites of sweet potato. There are some of us who can't do carbs in moderation because they trigger more carbs cravings so abstinence is better till we are in maintenance. I still just don't do bread, rice, pasta, etc and eat other carbs sparingly except for fruit because they will start my cravings. I'm four years out.

    NO Carbonated beverages- FOREVER!

Yeah I sorta roll my eyes on the carbonation stretching thing. I mean seriously?!? It's AIR and not even pressurized air and once healed the stomach is tough tissue. Science says nope, though they did worry in the early days of the sleeve they later proved it wrong. And yeah it relaxes some over time. Now a full plate? Suppose it depends on the initial size of your sleeve, whether the full fundus was removed, the size of your plate and what's on it. I'm four years out and still have great restriction. No way could I eat a full plate of food unless it was a small plate and full of Cheeze-it's. I can definitely eat way more than I could early on, but not a full plate.

    conspation

Once you get something to work and clear you out, try adding a spoon full of benefiber once a day. That's what did it for me
  19. And they will continue to do so! Mine are 14 and 19. Not sure when they stop! But yeah def listen to your doc, but plenty of normal weight women lose during the heartburn phase and the babies are fine. My doc told me the goal as an overweight mom was to maintain not gain. I think the numbers they are giving you are for normal weight moms
  20. McD's will also do a "side" of grilled chicken and it's cheaper... or a grilled chicken snack wrap no tortilla so it's wrapped in lettuce.

96 pounds down in three months

Wow! Judgey McJudgerton! Guess he showed you! You wouldn't like me much either. I lost 17lbs my first week and over 80lbs my first three months. And I'm female and only 5'6" (started 271). I started running around week four with couch to 5k got in all my protein and vitamins and was healthy throughout! Now I run marathons and have a body fat % of around 17%... and I do 4-5 hours of yoga class a week. Four years out wearing size four and counting! So how's that for healthy?? Keep it up sir, you're rocking it!
  23. Very much this! Even at four years out.
  24. Keep notes and see it's different types of food, times of day, etc. Some days I can eat more some days less. I can typically eat more at lunch than dinner. I can eat more yogurt than chicken and more chicken than tuna.
