  1. Well it will definitely taste different--the "bland" is because it doesn't have the sugar and other things added. I think it must be an acquired taste if you aren't used to it. I am so the other tastes off to me. But it shouldn't be dry. Does it come with a layer of oil settled to the top? You have to mix that in and then put it in the fridge. It will stay mixed then and not be dry. If it doesn't maybe they drain that off and that's why it's dry. What part of the country are you in? Adams is another brand I know they have that in Louisiana and Idaho.

  3. Interesting! I usually eat a spoonful most mornings. It's not a slider for me
  4. My doctor goes by weight at first appointment so weight lost in the pre op period doesn't count "against" you
  5. What kind of bad luck? I've used Laura Scudders mostly and I believe it is a national brand.

    FINALLY!!!!!!!! A good protein bar

My plan counts net carbs so once you subtract the fiber and sugar alcohol it's only 3 net carbs
  7. It it has existed when I was your age I would have been all in!
  8. Roasted veggies including Brussel sprouts were early favorites of mine!
  9. Cruciferious veggies like cauliflower and broccoli took me most of a year to be able to tolerate even cooked. I still struggle with raw carrots but cooked are fine (I'm four years out). Strangely though lettuce was never difficult. Had it starting at six weeks out. I needed protein shake to meet my goal for about sixteen or eighteen months and still have one several days a week.
  10. You have to keep experimenting till you find one you can tolerate even though you may never "like" one. And by tolerate I literally mean it doesn't make you actually throw up. That's tolerate, not it tastes gross or smells bad. This is one of those suck it up and do it things. That said, I like chike, quest and syntrax matrix. Can't stand isopure or premier, so everyone is different. Nashua Nutrition will sell you a sample of any brand and flavor they carry for $1 each.

    Abdominal pain, should I worry?

Wow! Hang in there... thinking about you! Keep us posted!
  13. Yes!!! I struggled with cracked heels for years... like you said, deep with pink showing but no active bleeding-- and no more! Completely gone.

    Free of Sugar Free

I use Splenda and have no issues, but have you tried Stevia? Its plant based natural calorie free sweetener.

    FINALLY!!!!!!!! A good protein bar

Yes and they had a pumpkin pie one last year! Hoping thy have one this year too!
  16. Acid!! While our stomachs are healing acid mimics hunger pains. If you aren't on an acid reducer get some over the counter omeprazole or better yet consult with your doctor and get a prescription. If you are on one ask about increasing it. I needed to double my Protonix prescription. Really common post op.
  17. Wow I'm sorry your experience was so poor! Thanks for sharing the warning

    My sleeve is too big

If you are soon out of surgery and "starving" make sure you are on an acid reducer like omeprazole. Acid in the healing stomach can mimic hunger pains. Work on the mental aspect of food addiction. Finally... yes your capacity is probably larger than your wife's. Sleeve surgery reduces the circumference of the tube but your tube is likely longer than hers as you are a man and probably taller. They can't reduce the length of the tube. That said, it's probably appropriate it be larger and you be able to eat a small amount more. You will need more calories than she does long term once you get to goal to maintain.

    Surgery yesterday

Tomato soup is highly acidic. I'd hold off on it for a whilw
  20. Just a note--check because my hospital wouldn't let me use ANYTHING like dry mouth spray, lozenges, gas strips, NOTHING that wasn't provided by them or prescribed by my doctor. They did provide those things when asked. But mine stayed packed.
  21. I way overpacked! I wore a second robe backwards so didn't need a robe. Used my phone charger, my own pillow and chapstick.
  22. I've heard sometimes insurance is reluctant to cover IV Tylenol because of the expense. As for Advil... I'm shocked! Most doctors don't advise NSAIDS post op!

    Depression??

It's can be hormonal. There are a lot of fat soluble hormones released as the weight comes off. If you're prone to PMS it's like that. Then add in the loss of food as a coping mechanism which many of us use, throw in some pain and fatigue from surgery and a low calorie diet, a little buyers remorse... it's more situational usually than clinical depression.
  24. I was shocked how amazing it was! Oral Tylenol does little for me so I didn't expect much... WOW and no nausea which I get from narcotics. Trouble is it's really expensive for some reason
  25. You have to stir in the oil that settles to the top on the natural ones. I open a fresh jar and stir it all up and then put it in the fridge and it stays stirred up and creamy.
