Random foods make me nauseated
jess9395 replied to speechick1969's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Shrimp and eggs are quite common ones actually! Only time I ever threw up was shrimp. And I couldn't do eggs for about six months. I can so both now. -
How am I supposed to fly on a plane with my meal replacement shakes?

Awww thanks! Sadly that anklet wore clean through! Got it a a craft faire and wore it for two years till it broke! I saved the stones and maybe one day I will be crafty enough to resurrect it! -
What are your goals other than weight loss?
jess9395 replied to Mattymatt's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Love this.... except I'm gonna say I hate the middle seat and I'm a size 4. I need my personal space [emoji23] -
Your stomach hasn't even fully healed at three months out. It is still partly swollen and will continue to "relax" and you will be able to fit more in as the swelling goes down. That's not stretching. Follow your program. Mine is protein first and fruit only if I have room after protein and veggies.

3 weeks out and pain is starting again

It can happen with any rapid weight loss or any diet very low in fat. -
Just Curious .. can you handle bread, rice, pasta?
jess9395 replied to Leo85's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I love oatmeal too but didn't eat it till I was at goal. I stir in a scoop of protein powder sometimes! -
Just Curious .. can you handle bread, rice, pasta?
jess9395 replied to Leo85's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm four years out. Rice is uncomfortable to the point of painful (at least it still was a year ago haven't tried it since). Pasta was fine the one time I tried it (at a friends house and she served ravioli so I politely ate a little). Bread is fine if it's toasted. If not it sits like a doughy lump in my stomach. -
Took me six months before eggs didn't give me pain or make me sick. Put them aside for a couple of weeks and then try again.

Having trouble with not eating before tests
jess9395 replied to Gemini27's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Fluffy gave you a great attack plan and she hit the nail on the head. It's a physiological response, BUT one caused in a large part by the standard American diet (SAD). The quick starchy carbs cause the crazy blood sugar peaks and valleys. If you regulate your diet better then you won't have the blood sugar issues you age struggling with. -

I did black bike shorts and a tank top and I'm glad I did! I took the same shot about once a month and then professionally when I got to goal. Here are just a few -
How important is exercise?
jess9395 replied to elforman's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Weight is lost in the kitchen... weight loss is about the diet. Now exercise is for heart health and building muscle so it's a great thing to add, I'm a huge exercise proponent. But you can lose weight without it. -
$1.22 a day.... how much $ will you be saving on food costs? That's like 1/3 a Starbucks coffee!

Fairlife Milk - High in Sugar?
jess9395 replied to ToughButFair's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Milk has sugar. That's what lactose is. There's no added sugar. In fact fairlife milk has about half the sugar regular milk does (6g compared to 11g). Where you are running into trouble is the CHOCOLATE fairlife milk. It has 6g of added sugar. So buy the plain and add some unsweetened cocoa powder or sugar free Hershey's syrup. Or just add the premier chocolate powder. Stay away from the chocolate fairlife. -
I had several bouts of kidney stones before surgery, none since. If they turn out to be calcium stones have your parathyroid glands checked. That was my problem.

Dating with the fat girl still on the inside...
jess9395 replied to ReddGypsy's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Yeah I don't think it's size related. From the stories I hear even the size 4's are expected to "put out" as we used to call it! -
Pregnancy went great, lost the weight after :)
jess9395 replied to Katie Loesch-Meyer's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
All I have do say is.... 42 weeks?!?!? Yikes you poor dear! But you look healthy and happy! Congrats! I often wish I had a chance at being pregnant while not morbidly obese. I never really looked pregnant. Just huge! -

Go back to the basics of your plan. Mine is protein first then if I have room veggies and then other complex carbs. Protein shakes can replace a meal or two to jump start things.
