    Real bad stall

Please at least tell me the power aid and Gatorade is sugar free? If not that could be your answer right there. A lot of us find we can't lose if we don't limit our carbs. Are you following your plan? Meeting your protein goals?

    Ginger Ale

Zofran. Ginger tea. Crystallized ginger. Lots of other forms of ginger. Seasickness acupressure bands.

    Fixing Posture

Yoga helped me IMMENSELY with this!
  5. Syntrax Matrix Peanut Butter Cookie!
  6. I never had one. My surgeon doesn't use them. Four years out, I did just fine.

    Destined to be fat?

Another thing to note.... As we lose weight, we need fewer calories just for subsistence. Phrased another way, a 300lb body burns more calories just existing than a 100lb body. If you consistently eat, say 1000 calories a day, you may lose 3-4lbs a week at the start. Eating the SAME calories three months later when you weigh 50lbs less your weight loss will slow.
  8. I'm pretty sure that's where@BellaBloom had her plastics, maybe she can discuss her experience! Or look for her posts, she may have talked about it.

    Not losing :(

    You've "only" lost 37lbs in 2 1/2 months?!?!? That's almost half a pound a day!!!!!! You're doing great.

    Random question

I went down a shoe size and lost 1/2" in height! I apparently was carrying lots of weight in my feet...including the bottoms!

    Protein Cookie?

Ummmmm what would you consider losing crazy weight? More than a pound a day seems like crazy weight to me!

What Post-Sleeve Rules Do You Break?

I wish Bellabloom would lead with some info about herself. She's not an average WLS patient and what works for her isn't what will work for many of us. She struggled pre and post op with severe eating disorders, including anorexia. She had major complications requiring revisions. It's GOOD for her to not obsess or overthink what she eats. Yeah she should probably take her vitamins. But please don't look at what works for her and think it's a good way to eat. Maybe when you are four years out like she is, you can try what she does. I can't, if I ate that way I would be back over 200lbs in a heartbeat. We are all different and different things work for us. But I think Bella's posts need to come with a disclaimer.

    Fruit

Yikes! The acid content of the orange juice would have caused me no end of grief. And OJ has no fiber so it won't help with any constipation.

    Fruit

I didn't eat fruit for most of the weight loss period, too much sugar for me, but check your plan. Stay away from seeds because they can cause issues. Blueberries have a low sugar content. Try adding fiber through benefiber or psyllium husks. Later on chia seeds are good too, but probably not for the first six months.

    Success 2-3 yrs post op?

Oh don't get me wrong.... I don't have anywhere near the hunger I had pre op. Like ranges from a 0 to a 4 typically and maybe up to a 5 or 6 when I've been eating too many simple carbs. I don't think it would be healthy to have NO hunger long term. I don't have enough hunger most days to make choosing the right things difficulty
  16. Some of the hair loss is unavoidable. It's called telogen effluvium. It's because of the anesthesia... all the follicles in a particular stage of development just stop and that hair will fall out 2-8 months later. Nothing you can do. Protein and the rest can stop ADDITIONAL hair loss, but you can get all your protein in, take biotin, use biotin shampoo and you will still lose hair.

    Success 2-3 yrs post op?

I'm four years out. Yup, I get hungry but not like pre op. And the more simple carbs/sugar I eat the hungrier I get.

    BACK ON TRACK RETREATS????

You fly me to Europe and I will go! Seriously though, please don't beat yourself up over 10lbs in two years! I mean sure, make the necessary changes, but know that you are now facing what all NORMAL women do! Aging, slowing metabolism, etc and average women gain. Struggling with those 10lbs is far greater than struggling with 100 or 200!

Bored With Weight Loss. Recipe for regain?

Good to "see" you@cowgirljane I think that's very important to remember/realize. Just because we struggle with a few (or 10 or 20) "vanity" pounds as I like to call them, doesn't mean we have lost. The health benefits of keeping off 125lbs far outweigh my stress Over the 10 I regained. It's a NORMAL thing for even those who have never been obese (like my hubby who wore size 30-32 jeans until he was 50 and now is upset that he's a 34). Post menopausal women especially gain an average of a pound a year. Metabolism slows and we all struggle. I feel this surgery has made the whole thing manageable, unlike before.

    Vitamin shoppe pizza

Wow! I'm totally gonna try this! Thanks
  21. For many people working out on too few calories causes a big uptick in hunger! You might try slowing down on the workout while you are getting in so few calories. Weight loss happens in the kitchen not the gym, fitness happens in the gym. You may want to wait till you are six months out and start again at that point. Also are you on an acid reducer, like a PPI--omeprazole or protonix? Acid can mimic hunger with gnawing empty sensation. I needed a higher dose of protonix for my first three months. Stalls happen. Esp silly the infamous week three stall (can be anytime in the first month or so). Totally happened to me! And a stall is really 2 or 3 weeks of more at the same weight. Be patient! It will happen!
  22. Does your policy spell out what is required for it to be covered? Or is it a specific exclusion? Many policies exclude certain plastics no matter the condition. Others (like mine) spell out specifics... for example a number of inches or a number of grams and no matter any other complications if you don't meet the specifics won't cover it. Getting a copy of your plan and its requirements will help you address them and hopefully get approved. I didn't meet my insurances specifics. So no matter the rashes/infections/mobility issues/clothing issues mine would not cover it. I paid out of pocket.
  23. I'm Jess and the acid in the coffee doesn't bother me, I was just acknowledging that it bothers some people. And yes decaf has less acid, but cold brew regular has less than normal decaf.
