I never imagined I would end up the size I did! I set incremental goals... to weigh less than hubby, to weight less than 200, to get out of plus sizes... my stretch goal was single digit sizes (ie an 8) but I blew past that. You might surprise yourself!
-
Well they do, I mean an 8 is fully a regular size, but they don’t have anything smaller!

Wow! Happy to post pix but “should not?” I think everyone should wear what makes them comfortable and happy! No matter their shape or age! -

I’m with you on the words on the butt and mini skirts (my thighs are the one part Plastics didn’t fix anyhow). But I find some great stuff in Forever 21 and I trade clothes with my 19 year old daughter on a regular basis. I mean she def has some stuff I won’t wear like bodycon dresses and crop tops but we have more overlap than not. -

That’s protein supplements in general plus lack of fiber and healing and residual from pain meds and anesthesia. Add some soluble fiber like benefiber and some usoluble like Metamucil.

I love the bike shorts and really all the swimsuits at swimsuits for all... I just have an issue with the fact that they call themselves “swimsuits for all” and start at a size 8. I can’t wear them. They aren’t for all anymore than the ones that only go to a 12 or 14 are. Which isn’t an issue per se... except for, well, their NAME! Ugh

Hormones, metabolism, fat insulation are all factors. make sure your thyroid and iron level are checked and that you aren’t running a fever... and then get a heating pad/hot water bottle and lots of fleece.... because yup! Always cold!

Insoles are a life saver indeed!

Hungry and Full at the Same Time??
jess9395 replied to logicwand's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Are you taking a proton pump inhibitor like omeprazole? You might need to add one or increase your dosage. Hunger “pains” at this stage of the game are usually acid. -
Check out lands end. They have an amazing variety of sizes and styles and a no questions asked anytime return policy!
-
Mine never measured my height just took me at my word. True story—I lost about an inch in height with my weight loss, from the bottoms of my feet losing fat! So if they measure you down the road you can always claim it’s that!

Changes in taste and texture tolerance

Iron deficiency can cause a metallic taste in the mouth, so maybe? -
I’m four and a half years out and mine is similar but I only have it once a year.
-
It’s medicine. Drink it anyway. Yup a whole one for breakfast and probably lunch and dinner. That’s 90g protein which puts you just about right!
-
I never had one

You need to look at your policy too they will often spell specifics out. For example mine only covers if your pannus hangs 3” past the pubic bone and will only do a breast reduction not a lift and they have to remove a certain amount of tissue for it to me a reduction.

Those are pretty standard for the first year post op yes. And there is NO blood test that can show if you are getting enough protein.

At the very least popcorn is a decent source of fiber while puffcorn has none. That said, it seems way early for popcorn. It’s not the easiest to digest on a healing stomach and doesn’t provide much that we need nutritionally. I didn’t try till I was six months out and I opted for a small amount of regular popcorn.
-
Just FYI everyone, a blood test cannot show that you are getting enough Protein. Serum (blood) protein levels have nothing to do with adequate intake. Both low and high levels of serum protein are due to disease processes and other medical issues like inflammation or organ failures. Only very severe malnutrition would have an impact on serum protein. https://labtestsonline.org/tests/total-protein-and-albuminglobulin-ag-ratio Low protein intake results in muscle loss. That can’t be detected by a blood test. Just something to note. No blood test can tell if you are getting adequate PROTEIN. They are to detect whether you are getting enough Vitamins, minerals, etc.

Cool then. You just said purée. Yup everyone’s up plan and journeys are different! I was just going by what you said No judgement implied. Just a clarification of what was a purée.

Dating is to determine compatibility. This is a data point in that determination. Also, heck if you can “cheat” your way into weight loss, health and a hotter body (not gonna get into that argument, but I will say the body will be hotter by most standards) why not?
-
@fluffychix hit it. Chia seeds still give me issues. Quinoa? That’s definitely not a purée unless you put it in the blender. For my stages purée literally meant purée too, so no fork soft fish or chicken (isn’t banquet chicken more rubbery anyhow?) but I can see getting away with the soft flakey fish. Why not just stick to protein shakes for on the go? That’s what I did for months, even when on solids. They are super easy and portable.

When Did YOUR Energy Come Back?

Add me to the 4-5 weeks category. And I didn’t increase my calories either, it was just the stage of recovery. -
Week Two Post-op: Too much sugar?

Got it. So what is the definition of protein water then? I think people call it that to try and convey the fact that it’s a clear drink instead of a typical cloudy “shake” type drink (though most of those aren’t shakes either) like premier protein or muscle milk (which is not a milk, so...). Come to think about it, what’s the definition of a “milk” because I’m pretty sure almond and soy mills aren’t (is coconut milk?) I wish we had more language surrounding the differences between the protein drinks so we could communicate better about them. There is a “clear” difference between the clear isopure and the typical protein drinks, and they are good on the clear liquid phase while others aren’t, so it would be nice to have language to state that.
