Thanks! I will check those out!

    Nasal B12

What brand? I have tried two so far and they take like 20-30 mins to dissolve! Would love one that dissolved quickly.
  3. That's what mine does to tell me that's enough food/shake/water/whatever =(

    New whey protein shots

I bought these too because they say whey protein isolate and caesin protein isolate in addition to the hydrolized collagen.
  5. My pain came mostly from my back. The pain refers everywhere so it's hard to pinpoint for some, but your gallbladder is on your right below your ribcage, opposite side of your stomach. Pain comes in attacks that grow and eventually subside. Pain is worse (more "attacks") after a fatty meal.

    5 days post op yogurt!

Yes mine had me on clear liquids for the first week, though I could have jello. I didn't, but I could have.

    Help! Protein is killing me!

If you can find it, Lucerne makes "protein plus" milk which has 3 extra grams of protein in it (12g vs 9 per cup for FF).

    5 days post op yogurt!

Oh and as for FF/SF pudding...just get the Jello Pudding SF boxes that you make yourself and make with skim milk or protein plus skim milk!

    5 days post op yogurt!

Careful to read the labels....a lot of Greek yougert has LOTS of sugar if that's an issue for you. I am another Fage fan. I sweeten it with SF Torani syrups or crystal light powder. Tried Synthrax Nectar powder, but wasn't a fan. Also put it in my protein shakes.
  10. Am almost a month out (Dec 2nd). Really carefully following all post op diet instructions. Hard to get all the Water and Protein in (my doc says 40-60g and at least 50oz right now) but in the last two weeks I have been averaging 50g and all the water (haven't been counting the liquid from Protein shakes so that's a bonus and gets me up to 64oz most days). My dilemma is this. I had worked my way up to being able to get in about 1/2 c (over 30 mins) of Greek yougert/cottage cheese/puréed Soup or a couple of oz of puréed chicken or tuna. I have been able to drink 8oz lactose free milk + Protein powder in about 1-1.5 hours. Now all of a sudden I can only "stomach" about half that amount before I feel stuffed. Like less than 1/4c or 1 tablespoon of the purées. So the last two days I haven't been able to get my protein in and my calories have dropped by half. If I had always been that way I wouldn't be worried. Is it normal to have this kind of "setback?" Two days ago I could only get in 24g of protein and less than 300 cal. Yesterday was a bit better, but didn't meet my goals. Today hasn't started well...less than 1/4 c cottage cheese and about 1/4 of a c of my Protein shake. Of course everyone is gone for the holidays. Anyone else have this happen? Thoughts?
  11. Yes I thought about the Protein shake ice cream! Sadly it's just a four slice toaster not a toaster oven...but I do have two kids to toast for so it's all good =)
  12. Ummmm you mean like when you get a four slice toaster and an ice cream maker for Christmas?

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

My Fitness Pal says I averaged 453 over the last week. Trying to bring that higher, getting 50-60g protein. Just can't get it all in, and I am even on purées. Sigh. See my NUT Jan 2.

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Yeah I had my first real nausea today at three weeks out! Took my two HUGE chewable multivitamins at the same time instead of spreading them out....while I was driving! Will never make that mistake again. I really thought I was gonna have to pull over. Deep breaths saved me.
  15. Oh they wouldn't even let me use gas x if I had wanted. They would give me gas meds, but wouldn't allow anything from home
  16. I had a long list and packed it all. I am a planner and usually use everything. But what I actually used was... Chapstick Extension cord/charger/phone Lozenges (but they wouldn't let me use my own the dr had to order them and they have them to me) My own pillow Clean underwear Just used hospital grippy socks and their gowns are built for bariatric patients so closed in back just fine! Left hosp on clothes I arrived in.

    Water!

I was the same when I was discharged. It was a HUGE struggle for the first week. I found room temp the best and just tiny tiny sips. Couldn't stand anything sweet. Set a timer for every 15 mins and take a tiny sip. It does get better! Three weeks today and I can drink (not gulp) pretty much normally. This too shall pass!
  18. Can't find this in my post op binder anywhere! I have been considering my shakes "eating" for the sake of the no drinking before/during/after eating. Would make getting my Water in sooooo much easier if it was considered drinking though bc the shakes often take me 1-1.5 hours to finish. What do you guys consider shakes? Drinking or eating? DH is ever so helpful, he says both! Um..... Well then I guess I can't have them!
  19. Oh yay! You guys have made my day ! (And yes I will follow up with my NUT and confirm).

    Starting The Liquid Diet

DaVinci (like Torani) makes a sugar free eggnog syrup! You can add it to Vanilla protein shake and sprinkle a little nutmeg on top. I've been doing that & it's keeping me from missing my Starbucks eggnog latte!
  21. Did you purée it in the blender first. LOL? I was sleeved the same day you were and according to my Drs plan if I puréed it first it would be ok =). Honestly I can't imagine even trying....been having trouble getting my one ounce of puréed chicken down. Best to you! Just pick yourself up and move on and let it be a one time slip rather than the start of a pattern.

    Protein shakes

I'm with y'all on the Unjury. Love the Synthrax Matrix ones and can't stand the nectar ones. Just discovered the Bariatric Pantry hot Choc and Cappuccino (not real, no coffee) and love em. Have chike saved for later after I am allowed coffee!

    Post op pain?

Everyone is different. I was maybe a 5-6 immediately post op and I had a hiatal hernia repair too. Had tylenol IV no narcotics and brought it down to a 4 and never went above that. Haven't used a thing since I went home 2nd day post op. C section was MUCH worse and gallbladder was worse as well. I had very little gas pain and nausea was well controlled with scopolamine patch.

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Oh I felt that way for several days...every swallow was a struggle! It gets better day by day. My surgery was Dec 2nd and I can sip easily now. Can't gulp or anything but the sipping is fine.
