    Post-OP Sample Menus

I am 11 weeks out and still couldn't eat anywhere near what they have on that full foods stage! Most of the foods, yes, but the amounts no way, LOL
  3. Yeah slow down is my best advice, and premeasure your 1/4 cup or half cup and stop there even if you feel like you're not full yet. That's what's worked for me.
  4. I have Medco for my prescription coverage (blue cross for health) and they covered it for me! I got shakes vitamins and scar cream
  5. I should add it's also my Tummy'd I don't like that signal...currently reserved for eggs of any type and sadly salmon.
  6. Yes, it's my sign to stop (well my hard sign if I pay attention I get gurgling in my tummy about two bites before that). I get a sharp pain in the area under my solar plexus (right below the bottom of my ribcage).

Wow, I wonder what time frames those stages are. I am 10 weeks out almost and no way could I eat the amounts on that solid food stage!
  8. I did the Levonox injections and had a lot of bruising, but not as much as you have. I had a number of large bruises but they didn't cover my whole stomach like that.

    December 2013 Sleevers Come In!

Crystal Light makes margarita, appletini and mojito flavors. Those would be great mixers. My favorite mixed drink is a Vodka Collins and they make sugar free Collins mix!
  11. Anyone? Been fine so far, taking Protonix (PPI) daily. All of a sudden acid hit me yesterday. Waited to see what today would hold and it was awful! Accompanied by hiccups (when not eating). Gonna call doc tomorrow but thought I would ask here in the meantime.

    2 months out--ACID ugh

Thanks everyone. I never had this pre surgery except when I was pregnant, and this is my first bout post surgery. I did kind of back up on my food (haven't really progressed very far anyway) and just did shakes, Greek yogurt, some chicken and laughing cow cheese today. Prob will do even less tomorrow. Getting a bit worse and starting to have these pinching pains sharp behind and above my solar plexus, kind of like the esophagus is spamming =(. Not very many, maybe two an hour (they seem to come in pairs). Gonna try to make it through the night and then maybe call the on call doc tomorrow if it doesn't get better.

    2 months out--ACID ugh

UGH called this morning and they said they'd call back. Waited till 4:15 and finally called back myself and they leave at 4 on Fridays!!! Any advice on lasting the weekend? I tried not eating for 3 hours before bed last night and it was just the same (a little worse) today. Anyone experience acid reflux starting new 2 mos out even while on meds? Anything I can do/take to help? Any concerning things I should watch for?

    2 months out--ACID ugh

I take a prescription for it too and it seemed to work fine for eight weeks then all of a sudden not so much. The acid starts in the am and lasts all day...will the 3 hours before lying down (at night) still help? That will be hard...but I can try.

    No drain tube after VSG?

No drain. 1 night stay (though I could have stayed two) and I had a hiatal hernia repaired. Re the hernia...insurance will cover hiatal hernia repair even when they won't cover wls, so a lot of the expense then can be covered by them because it is covered as hiatal hernia repair. For me it was a moot point because my insurance paid for the wls
  17. I had IV tylenol and it was great! Kept the pain away with none of the nausea and itching I usually get with narcotics (Dilaudid, Morphine and Demerol all make me sick)

    Please help!

Is it on the right side? Maybe radiates around toward the back? Could be gallbladder.
  19. I definitely think you are taking too long to eat. With liquids they pass thru more quickly so by the time you are at 45mins what you ate at the beginning has passed thru. That's the whole notion of "sliders." Stop after half an hour and move on. You don't need to be full, just satiated/not hungry anymore.
  20. Actually I am not sure I know how to get a PM on my phone app...email might be better: Jessica.stw@gmail.com
  21. Oh what a great thread! I have a bunch I won't use as well! If someone wants to PM me I will ship =) Soups, Protein powder etc!

    Tuna salad HELP

Love the liquid smoke idea! I make a fake chick fil a sauce with that! In my tuna I currently just put mustard & Mayo because crunchy veggies aren't sitting well with me. But before then I added chopped green onions and celery.
  23. Never thought I'd say this (I was always blown away by people who said this before) I Run! Sure I am only six weeks out and it's only couch to 5k right now but I am on week 2. Now I am not one of those who gets into a blissed out "zone" from running and the endorphin release (maybe one day?) BUT it totally takes me into a place that demands my full attention and whatever I was stressing about goes away.
  24. Very true, the sound/timbre of your singing may change, but the mechanics of producing the tones won't change significantly.
