    I'm starving

The burning and growling isn't hunger it's acid. As everyone has said, call your dr and get on a strong antacid ASAP and it will be gone. I took Protonix for five months post op.
  2. Both my tubal ligation and gallbladder removal were laptascopic and no issues
  3. Me...was never even mentioned to me that it might be a problem. I had also had my gallbladder removed a year before my sleeve surgery. No issues,
  4. From my garden tonight! This is actually my husbands portion, mine was about 1/3 this size and had no potatoes. Broiled flank steak marinated in balsamic vinegar & garlic. Snow peas sautéed in olive oil with green onions, garlic and ginger. Oven roasted root vegetables.
  5. Oh gotta try that! I forgot, I have done the same with chocolate protein powder and it tasted like brownie batter! Loved it!

    All you can eat restaurant

It's up to each restaurant to decide if/how they will honor a card like that. I hate calling attention to myself so I don't use mine.

    What to bring for surgery

I used my phone (not my iPad), Chapstick and my own pillow from home. That's about it. I totally overpacked!
  8. Finished my first two 5k runs in the last month. Coming up I have: May 25th strawberry Stampede 5k Arroyo Grande CA Strawberry Festival May 31st Bands on the Run 5k Morro Bay, CA July 27 San Luis Obispo Triathalon (sprint triathalon) Labor Day weekend Disneyland 5k AND 10k September 9th Central Coast Cancer Challenge 10k San Luis Obispo, CA Sept 19-21 Ragnar Relay Napa, CA NEXT April SLO Half Marathon San Luis Obispo, CA Still debating (my sister is trying to talk me into it): October City to Sea half marathon San Luis Obispo to Pismo Beach, CA Will add some more 5-10k runs here and there.
  9. I shopped all around and if you have a Smart & Final near you they had the best prices I found. $5/bottle and $4/bottle if you bought 4+
  10. I do the torani syrup too. Raspberry/almond/coconut is my favorite!
  11. I eat Fage 0% plain Dannon light and fit Yoplait 100 And there is a new Chobani low sugar 90-100 calorie one that is my favorite because it doesn't use artificial sweeteners
  12. I had them at home for 10 days in the stomach too. Wasn't nearly as bad as I'd feared. You pinch an inch or so and stick it into the fat and inject just half an inch or so in. So it's not very painful and no fear of hitting anything but subcutaneous fat. The bruising was bad but the rest was fine. At my one week post op, dr said I didn't have to do the last 3-4!
  13. I am five months out and used to worry all the time about people noticing what I was (wasn't) eating, but have come to realize that most of the time they don't even notice! I order something small, or at a buffet pick a few bites of several things and move them around on my plate and pick at it. They don't notice 95% of the time honestly!

    How Many Calories @ Day?

Well... 60g of protein is only 240 calories, so you can easily get it in in under 500 calories.

    Longest "stall" so far.

My stats are dang close to yours as well... 5'6.5" SW/Surgery Weight: 271 (no pre op diet) Surgery Date 12/2 Current weight: 188 Goal: 150ish I run three days a week and do power yoga or pilates 2/3 days. Have even thinking of adding a personal trainer as well. I typically get 540-700 cals a day usually, 60-75g Protein and 64oz+ of Water. I have had three stalls so far...the three week stall, one about a month ago and one now. I totally hear you!!!! To get out of my last stall I tried upping my calories which many advised and nada. I went back to Protein Shakes only for two days and bang! Out of the stall. Tried that this time and no such luck. Thinking about trying to up them for a few days and trying to get 800-1000. Would love to hear what worked for others too!
  18. That is my understanding, but PLEASE verify with your medical team!!! Don't rely on my memories of my college class years ago!
  19. Please consult with your Dr, don't take advice solely from a message board, BUT from my Psychopharmacology class in college my understanding is the concern with Tryptophan is that it is a precursor to Seratonin (that is the body can make Seratonin from it). And Lexapro is a Selective Seratonin Reuptake Inhibitor (SSRI) so it also increases the amount of Seratonin available in your body (your brain specifically). So the danger is Seratonin toxicity. Protein shakes contain complete Proteins, not free amino acids, so your body won't be manufacturing Seratonin from them so there isn't a danger of Seratonin toxicity.

1 month out, having some issues

I think you're fine! You sound just like me. I switched to soft foods at the same time and kind of went back and forth for a while. I still use Protein shakes most days at 5 months out. It's a process everyone is different. From another thread I posted: I am five months today and still struggle to get more than 800 cals a day. Everyone is different. My weight loss is great (a few stalls here and there but down over 80lbs) my labs are great and I'm not hungry and have plenty of energy. If you are meeting your protein and Water goals, I wouldn't stress it!

    Hiatal Hernia Repair

I also didn't known I had one until the day after surgery when I overheard one of the nurses telling the other nurse at shift change! I had a very uneventful, rather quick recovery so I don't think it had much impact. Probably just a bit more pain when "eating" (ie drinking) for a few weeks...sharp pain right under my ribcage/solar plexus area.
  24. If I only are when I was hungry most days I would never get anywhere close to my Protein goals and I would eat less than 300 cals a day, I know because I have tried it. I know it works for some, but not me. I don't exactly eat at scheduled intervals anymore (almost five months out, earlier I did) but at general times of day. Protein shake before I take the kids to school, etc.
