jess9395 replied to gohelpyourself's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh and the company waives my copay. I need to cancel though because I really don't like the premiere Protein so I buy synthrax matrix anyway and have a backlog myself. -

I checked my benefit statement after reading that on here and they only charge my insurance $298/mo for the shakes, vitamins and scar cream. -
That is AWESOME!!!!! My stats are close to yours...I have about 10lbs to get to where you are...but sadly my loose skin is much worse (an age thing!). If I looked like that I would be wearing the bikini around town, LOL! You should wear it!!!!!

100 Pounds in 4 Months?
jess9395 replied to ahjohnson's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think it's easier for men to do 100lbs in four months than women. You guys just lose faster. I consider myself a pretty fast loser for a woman and I am just under six months out and closing in on 100 (94lbs.). -
3 weeks post op and OUCH! What is that feeling?
jess9395 replied to Slimk's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Eggs hurt me too when I was at your stage. Many other foods were fine, but eggs of any sort hurt. Put them away for a couple weeks and try again. About 2-3 months out I could finally have them. -

What are your thoughts regarding Bananas?
jess9395 replied to Butterflyhigh's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My plan allows half a banana a day. I do more like half a banana every two weeks or so. -

Need help finding protein shakes/powder! Recommendations?
jess9395 replied to MorganO87's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Ahh. I have only seen the smalller size, are the larger sizes less intense? That is the issue for me with small size, just a little on the chemically side... Nope they're the same. Pretty odd overtones and aftertaste. It's they whey Isolate. -

I second this! They should be able to give you an anti anxiety med to take orally before you come in (ie Valium) and a sedative in your iv before they intubate -

Isopure comes in two sizes... The small (4 oz I believe) plastic bottles and the large (20 oz) glass bottles. Many more flavors available in the large bottles -
Has anyone tried/is trying the Couch to 5k? (If not, what exercises do you do?)
jess9395 replied to Comfy_Blue's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
WOW, that sounds really cool. I'm going to look that one up, though I probably can't do it on a treadmill. Maybe after I finish the C25K, I'll try that one. I plan to actually run outside once I get my stamina up. If you are feeling it in your shins make sure and stretch your achillies tendons!!!! -

I agree on the isopure... Got a bunch of single bottles at Vitamin shoppe and could barely choke then down (though alpine on he was the "best" of the batch). Synthrax Matrix is my favorite. LOVE the Peanut Butter cookie and I hated peanut butter stuff pre op. It's whey isolate, whey concentrate and caesin. I can't stomach the ones that are pure whey for the most part... Though a few of the Chike flavors I can (banana magic and coffee). -

Need breakfast ideas, sick of eggs and protein shakes
jess9395 replied to NMJG's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I spray the tin down quite liberally with some spray oil. I liked the butter flavor from Crisco but the olive oil isn't too bad. Maybe I need a new pan. I did spray with the butter flavored Pam spray -

Melbooks what are you using? I'd love a next step. Doing a 10k in August myself and a half next April! -

jess9395 replied to Comfy_Blue's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes! I started it in January and ran my first 5k in April and have one this weekend. I'm not fast, but I can run 30 mins without stopping easily and can do 5k in about 43 mins. That's the one thing I would say about couch to 5k...it does get you running 30 mins without stop, but if you are a slower runner that might not be a full 5k. I will work on building speed next! -
Pre-op Diet Question..Why only Bariatic Advantage?
jess9395 replied to bigloser2014's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are correct. They are some great folks up there. It seems odd but it's probably because they are a BlueCross/BlueShield Center of Excellence they are required to have very standard operating procedures which may include prescribing everyone the same pre-op BA shakes. You're in good hands. My doctor is a center of excellence as well and doesn't use/recommend/prescribe a certain brand. He also doesn't require a pre op diet of all patients. So it's not that. -
Need names of good protein powder
jess9395 replied to NewLife4Me7's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Synthrax Matrix is my favorite. Love the peanut butter cookie! Also like chocolate and mix it with strawberry sometimes or Torani syrups (coconut, raspberry, mint, almond). Also blend the vanilla with frozen fruit or Torani syrups (pumpkin pie, caramel). Oh and blend the chocolate with frozen bananas and/or PB2 -

I love doing those things on a Sunday and make them for the week. Makes breakfast fast for work a no brainer and very quick. Usually I just do eggs, cheese and bacon or diced ham. Ok I have tried these several times and need help!!! They stick to my muffin pans! Won't pop out and make a mess of things. I've even tried them in cupcake papers but the papers get all gross.Tips??? -
