    Planking Challenge!

    Who's with me? Here's the plan...check in when you do each day's planking for accountability! If you want me to I can try and track on a google spreadsheet. Let me know if that would be helpful!
  2. You think? I just can't imagine someone going thru all this and just throwing ALL the basics out the window from the start and arguing that they are impossible. Not to mention the 5000 calories a day. If you are not a troll I apologize. In that case get over yourself and open your mind to people trying to help. You seen to want help. Take it.

    Still hungry between meals?

    I'm another one who needs snacks. No way could I get all my food in if I only ate three meals. What is your intake during three meals? Are you able to get enough protein and calories in? If not that's probably why you are hungry. Ask your doctor about strategies to eat enough if he doesn't want you snacking.

    =) Thanks for the fiber tip! I will have to try that Sunsweet one sounds great! My NUT also reccomended prune wafers but I haven't tried those yet either.

    I have heard that it's because it washes the food through so you don't feel full and long and even watched the YouTube demonstrations explaining this....but my experience is different. I am almost 8 months out. I was out of town recently working in a very hot outdoor environment. Previously I have always avoided drinking and eating together. But this particular day I had let myself get too hot and hadn't eaten enough or had enough to drink. When I sat down at the restaurant table to eat, I drank most of the full glass of Water they set in front of me. Then, less than 10 mins later I had food in front of me--nothing I hasn't eaten regularly before, all stuff that agrees with me. Took about four or five bites and had to rush to the bathroom in pain! Doubled over and throwing up. There was no room in the inn. So the best advice is what is said all the time on this board--the one thing we all have in common is we are all different. I will never eat and drink and the same time again! But your mileage may vary =) BTW I eat soup all the time with no issues and find it very filling. I also do homemade smoothies based on Protein powder, greek yogert, coconut water, frozen fruit and most of the things Kindle lists above and have no issues. BTW--Kindle you say you add Benefiber + Metamucil...I have only been adding Benefiber. Is there something the Metamucil adds that I am missing??? I need all the help I can get in that arena!

    There are many doctors who do this as an outpatient. I have had a few friends have it done that way. I don't think it's a sign of a questionable doctor. A large portion of the folks on here (including me) went home day after.

    I don't worry about healthy fats so adding calories is like a handful of nuts or some no sugar added peanut butter or avocado. Or it could be mixing my protein with milk instead of water or using dairy with some fat instead of skim or adding olive oil to my veggies.

    Here's the thing, studies show drinking carbonation post of is correlates with weight gain and/or failure to lose. That is, they have shown people who drink soda aren't as successful statistically. Is it because it stretches the sleeve? Is it because people who will break that "rule" break others as well? Who knows. Do you want to risk it? Also many many people have a lot of pain with the gas it introduces. Again, do you want to risk it? My doctor allows for flat soda. I haven't had any or any carbonation since about a month before my sleeve in December. I used to do 5 or so diet coke or Pepsi a day. Now I can take or leave it and with the risks I chose to leave it. Will I ever try it again? Maybe, I don't know. But for now I stay away. With so so many chemicals in it it's better I never go back to my five a day so I don't open the door. Bright spot is I got my kids to give it up too!
  9. It's a statistic based on averages. The average person loses 60-70% of their EXCESS body weight. So if your healthy weight is 100 and you weigh 200 on average you will lose 60-70 lbs. That means there are people who lose more and people who lose less. As others have said, it's all about how you use the tool surgery gives you. I am a couple weeks away from being 8 month out and have lost 91% of my excess body weight (111lbs). Still losing relatively easily so I have no reason to think I won't make 100%. Only 15lbs to go!

    Hunger Hormone

    I would see if your Dr was willing to increase your dose or try another one. My Dr uses Pantaprozole instead. Maybe you need to work on the dosage or switch to another. Because honestly especially with the gurgling it sounds like acid to me.

    Are you taking a PPI or antacid? Acid can completely mimic hunger (happened to me both post op and while pregnant) and it DOES go away after eating because the food absorbs the acid. If you aren't I would talk to your Dr about one. REALLY can help!
  13. I wouldn't worry. 1. Guys lose faster 2. If you didn't really do a pre op diet you will lose faster 3. The first week is often a big loss and it will slow down. I lost 17lbs my first week (my dr only does a 48hr pre op clear liquids) and then it slowed down to 5 second week and then I hit the three week stall. If you're losing at that rate after a few weeks, then you can be concerned!

    Ok so yesterday was actually my rest day even tho it says above I did 35 sec "yesterday" must have posted after midnight! I went to Yoga class yesterday tho and did some planks in there just not official challenge planks =P 40 sec today! Dolphin and straight arm.
  15. Many people like premiere ready to drink. Others really like Syntrax nectars (lighter fruitier flavors and iced tea). Isopure is another very different one (clear, fruity) I can only " stomach" syntrax matrix. Keep experimenting. We all went thru believing we would never finding one we liked!

  21. I agree mostly with everything that has been said. Until a week ago I missed NOTHING...but then I went to a very nice vegas buffet. I don't miss having my old buffet portions. But I do miss being able to just take a bite or two of a number of items. I got tiny portions of many different things (and had my eye on some others) and got full long before I had eaten a bite of all the things I wanted to try! That made me a bit sad. I had been to other buffets and didn't mind, but that night I did. Too many good things I didn't even get to taste. But that's OK. Don't miss it enough to change anything! And my husband is so nice...despite me not eating nearly enough to justify the price, he took the whole family back there again the next night so I could try the things I missed!!!
  22. OK I have a TON of Choc Premier Protein stockpiled. Used Insure Nutrition and it keeps coming and I don't like it and use another brand. I got behind and have had trouble stopping the deliveries. I live on the Central Coast of CA and drive to the LA area several times a week. If you love anywhere in those areas or in between and can meet me I have cases to give you! Let me know!

    Did 30 secs dolphin and 30 secs straight arm today! I realized I did the 20 sec one twice and shouldn't have so I am a day off now! 35 sec tomorrow and then a rest day!
