    Labor day Challenge

Up and down the same dang pound all week! Luckily this am was a DOWN so 154
  2. I don't have that problem! I can eat 1200 easy. My maintenance amount is currently 1550 and I have no problem hitting that either! But that why I only care about Protein staying high and sugar staying low. I ignore fat calories. My diet is 40-50 percent fat. Probably why I am never under MFP s 1200 threshold for yelling at us. Maybe you need to save a frequent food as "MFP nagging calories plug" and set it to 600 with no listed macros and use that everyday! Oh my gosh I LOVE that idea!!!!!ThNks!!
  3. I'm the same way and I have it adjusted. I just wish it didn't always list the calories first and scream at me I am eating too little every day when I click finished.
  4. Just go to the pie chart and switch to the detail on the iPhone On iPad I get nice counts right on the diary I am sure ther are similar options on PC and android. In fact the details on my iPad diary I had to choose from the web PC version. So far today for me is attached. I focus on protein and sugar grams Oh I get all that too, but it still counts the calories as well. I thought you'd found a way to turn off the calorie count.
  5. How do you only track protein on MFP? I use it and it screams my calorie count right up top when all I really care about is the protein.

What does your daily menu consist of?

This--- Most of the time I just stop myself because I know I should.-- Is the whole point
  7. There are plenty of baby foods out there with protein in them these days...especially if you look for the ones aimed at older babies. But yeah I was afraid of how they would taste. I eat very little processed food and it's about as processed as you can get!
  8. I bought a little bit of baby food pre op Thinkjng I would try it but could never bring myself to eat it! Would love to hear if someone actually tried it!

    Ditching the protein shakes

Everyone is different, but I am 8 months out and still use one most days.

    fast food options

Wendy's chilli Grilled chicken nuggets at Chic Fil a Grilled chicken strips at jack in the box Insides of a chicken fajita pita at jack in the box Grilled chicken snack wrap insides at McDonald's Pintos and cheese at Taco Bell Insides of grilled fish taco at Green Burrito (these are combined with Carls Jr here in CA a lot) Protein style burger at In a Out Almost all fast food places have somethjng with grilled chicken--sandwich, wrap, taco, salad--just eat the chicken first then the veggies hold the bread. Chipotle is awesome! They will actually sell you just a side of chicken, sofritas or meat in a little plastic cup! Or get a bowl no rice (I get no Beans also and add fajita veggies) and have a slew of meals out of the leftovers. Panda Express has a new chicken and kale dish I love while my kids are eating their new orange chicken with bacon. Healthy options are everywhere. Just don't be afraid to ask for what you need.

    First Triathalon

My first (sprint) triathalon today! Think good thoughts for me--I don't care about time just want to finish standing and smiling! What a mental game this all is. Feels so strange to be intentionally ingesting so many carbs and calories--all in the name of fuel, but still mentally stuck on the idea of overeating. Even weirder to be "eating" 100 calorie packs of basically sugar that taste disgusting! Been trying out small amounts of the goo to see what works and agrees with me all week so that was strange too "wasting" all those calories! Anyhow--wish me luck! I think I got this!
  12. I'm eight months out and rarely get hungry and don't obsess about food anymore. I took Fen/Phen back in the day (Adipex is a brand of Phentermine) and it's the same as I felt with those.

    I did it

    Yay!!! You are awesome!! WTG!
  14. I do a lot of body weight exercises, which forces good posture in the back. Yoga helps. t squats work really well to correct the upper back scapula issues, shoulders and connecting muscles. Taking the kinks out of the spine with a foam rollar feels really good. Also stretching backwards over a chair or couch helps. It is not easy. 2 years since I have reached goal and I am still working on the back muscle inflammation resulting from serious spine issues in a way where it is not constantly uncomfortable. However, I am happy to say I have made lots of improvement where my back is starting to have the natural muscular curvature of a healthy male. There are so many small supporting muscles in the back the require strengthening for all the muscular systems in the back to balance out. Another trick I discovered: This may sound a little quirky, but it also like to stand in a stairway with two rales, stretch my arms out in a y above my head and lean into the stairwell, letting gravity collapse my spine downward. This stretches and cracks everything in my back from gravity. Oh, but it works so well. My problems may be worse than yours because I have two sections of my spine that have degenerated, causing discs to mingle and mangle. Even though I am 38 my dr said I have a spine of a 60 year old. For a while, was hoping these issues would heal, but it looks like that is not going to happen. I have a lot of inflammation daily that I try and manage. I try and self treat when ever I can to relieve the discomfort doing some kind of stretch or another throughout the day. Anyone know of a perm way to fix this type of degeneration in the spine? My PCP said essentially he can help manage symptoms, but wasn't mentioning anything about surgery except last ditch effort. I found NSAIDs do not really help as much as I had hoped they would so stopped taking them a few months back; it is better to just self adjust and get rid of the misalignment that causes pain. I am pretty resourceful in this way. Thanks for sharing! Sounds like my chiropractor is on the right track--has me doing the foam roller stuff and wall squats two ways (arms down and then overhead). Will probably add weights to those. Just going much slower than I'd like...I think my posture makes me look old and I wonder how much of it is my boobs being lower and throwing off my center of balance but I suppose you don't have that issue and still have the back problems!I am going to increase my yoga and I have been doing something similar to your stairway thing, but placing my arms on a high countertop and then hanging down head between my outstretched arms. Would try the stairwell but we are a single story!Guess it's a matter of keeping on keeping on! NSAIDS don't do much for me either. If anyone else has any tips, please share!
  15. Personal experience, no preaching. I am almost 9 months out. I honestly haven't tried carbonation. I drank WAY too much diet soda to open that door again at this point. I do hope to maybe try a beer again one day, or a hard cider...but since drinking while eating makes me completely ill I probably won't try that for a LONG time. I think it's luck of the draw who can and who can't. Carbonation makes a lot of people ill. I have has wine (once--about 1/4 glass), margaritas (twice, again about 1/4 glass) and an after dinner liqueur (once--amaretto--about half of a shot glass). All four times the alcohol hit me VERY fast and hard. Which is why I have only done it twice!
  16. @@Fiddleman I can soooooo relate!!! What r u doing to address it? I run and bike and do yoga and have my first appt with a personal trainer this week. I've been seeing a chiropractor and doing the exercises he gave me and it's helping some, but it's still a struggle! Anything more I could be doing?

    Sports bra

I love Moving Comfort brand. I have used several of their bras and they are super supportive--I run mostly but also do yoga and biking in them.

    Rode a Century on Saturday

That's incredible! I am in awe!!! I just did my first triathalon this weekend (sprint distance only) and the 15 mile bike ride kicked my butt plenty...104 miles, you are a beast!!! I totally get what you are saying about fueling and hydration--that's difficult with a sleeve. Would love to hear how you are doing it!

    more scale problems

The lowest of course =) Seriously though, what you are tracking is a pattern over time. Minor differences won't make or break you. Stand on it once, once a week and you're good to go.

    First Triathalon

Good luck! You'll do great =). Let me know how it goes =)
  21. I feel the same about Unjury...that is the whey smell and I have trouble with a lot of them for that smell/aftertaste. It's why I do a blend shake rather than pure whey typically--Syntrax Matrix is my go to.

    Labor day Challenge

155.9. Woo Hoo! Triathalon yesterday so I'm sure that gave me a huge boost...we shall see what happens next week...based on my pattern I'm due for a stall.
  23. I think it's not common for one with your level of struggles to post on a board like this anyhow. Good luck to you, listen and absorb what people say and try incorporating it. Also don't be afraid of the medical professionals. They can help.

    First Triathalon

Thank you!!! I am so thrilled! Finished smiling an running and even beat my sister on the swim (tho she kicked my butt on the bike/run). Would have been happy under 3hrs but did it in under 2 1/2 (2:28 and change!) Just constantly greatful and amazed at what I am now capable of! Quite a journey.
