I honestly don't think working out affects the skin, just fills you out underneath. I am pretty ripped if I do say so myself, but there is loose skin on top--some places worse than orhera

I'm 15 months out and mine still does that! Especially at bedtime. -
I did all the right things and lost clumps starting at 6 months until about a year out. It's coming back in now

Yay for taking your life and future into your own hands! I think it's great! Wish I had done it at your stage instead of waiting... Course for me that would have been b4 gastric sleeve was really available and it's been perfect for me so I guess for that I'm glad I waited.

Having wrist surgery last week and discussing pain med dosage and she said "you probably only need the low dosage, you're pretty small." Putting on the size small triathlon kit I got on clearance a month ago bc they didn't have a medium and having it fit. -
Did you take your clothes off to weigh in the first time?

Oh gosh no! I could have even kept my shoes on if I wanted to. -
Anyone have a problem with their teeth going bad after surgery?
jess9395 replied to mikmak's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
No teeth issues here. -
Wow! This is interesting! Even when I had my surgery 15 months ago the trend was to the smaller bougie size (mine is a 32 and no complications here anyhow). Seems like surgeons are moving to the bigger ones. Interesting to watch things evolve!

Do you miss anything about being fat?
jess9395 replied to aSleeveStory's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm 20 yrs married this year and it doesn't matter I still get the attention. And it isn't only male/flirty/sexual attention... It's the salespeople in stores approaching me... The eye contact from cashiers... Other runners smiling and waving... Other people in waiting rooms striking up conversations...It's like I've rejoined the human race. I didn't notice how invisible/overlooked I was till I wasn't. -

I miss being overlooked at times. I now get lots more attention from salespeople, men, pretty much everyone. Sometimes I preferred being "invisible" -
I like the texture...reminds me of a tootsie roll

How can I increase my protein intake during the first four weeks post op...?
jess9395 replied to Jorrin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well it DOES add calories. Protein has 4 calories per gram so if the powder is pure protein (no carbs or fat--which many powders do have in small amounts) it still has 4 calories per gram. Not that that is a bad thing, just for accuracy's sake. -
How often do you weigh yourself?
jess9395 replied to Jazmundo's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm glad that's what works for you! But don't assume it's what's best for everyone ???? -

Lucky in my book! I am jealous. Rice is one of the only things I can't tolerate even in tiny amounts and I do wish I could have an occasional sushi roll! I've done it with seaweed but it isn't the same
