    Clothing size

Vanity sizing! Wait till you get down here, the sizes are different now ???? I have a size 12 dress I wore after my wedding ceremony when I left the reception.... It's about the same size as a current 8!

Feel the need to go "Hog Wild"

Honestly I did some food funerals and it didn't hurt a bit. Some people will argue that it speaks to state of mind and perhaps it does. But I met my goal in a year and so far am maintaining at 18 months out and feeling great.

    Clothing size

Tight 18W and 2x to 3x tops. Down to size 4 and Small in a year and now almost 18 months out its sometimes a 2!
  6. Protein in the urine typically is a sign of kidney problems not too much protein in the diet. I had preeclampsia during my pregnancy and the first sign of that was protein in my urine then the high blood pressure followed. As said above it can be a sign of all kinds of medical problems be careful! How many grams of protein are you eating/ingesting? I get well over 100 most days and don't have any in my urine.
  7. You are certainly welcome to express your opinion but so are others. And one doesn't have to have tried a product to have an opinion on the science and research behind it. Now if someone were commenting on the taste or whether it agreed with their stomach without trying it, well that's another issue! I think both sides can express their opinion and readers can listen and evaluate the arguments and make their own choices. And I don't think expressing a counter opinion is a scare tactic. Out of curiosity you said your Dr said you were getting "too much protein." Was that based on the number of grams you reported or on some particular test results? Can you share what your numbers were that were too high? Either the grams or the test results? Curious as to what is considered too much. I get a LOT of protein because of my workout plan.

    Well, I Went Swimsuit Shopping

They also have bra sized tankini tops! They have loose fronts and cover all that a one piece does but more loosely!I actually ordered one of those too, but the rash guard also covers the bat wings. Ah got it. I've given up on hiding those!
  9. Nothing wrong with having goals. Less than a year and a half post op I have 18% body fat and am running a marathon next month. Ran 30 miles total last week, 18 for my long run. How will you know if you don't try?

    Smoothies

Yeah gives a huge range of flavors that way! I love especially using seasonal ones like pumpkin pie and eggnog (though that one is a davinci syrup torani doesn't make eggnog)

    Smoothies

You're welcome! Sometimes I add some sugar free torani syrup too!

    Exercise and drinking water

I'm a year and a half out and can gulp some... Not like before but one gulp and then a few breaths then another for about 3-4 gulps

    Smoothies

I do a scoop of Protein powder, 6 oz plain greek yogert and either Peanut Butter or frozen fruit (berries mostly but occasionally watermelon or bananas or grapes or pineapple) and some Water or skim milk or coconut water. I drink half of it before a run and half after.
  16. Popcorn was touted as a very healthy snack back during the high carb diet era. These days it's pretty much considered empty calories. That said, if you plan for it and meet your nutritional needs sure you can eat it on occasion. I'm almost a year and a half out below goal and I enjoy it once a month or so
  17. You can do it!!!! Don't worry too much about the pace, just keep running--- you can do ANYTHING for 5 minutes!
  18. That's awesome Jess! I was sick so I'm just a few weeks behind you with a 15 mile yesterday. I bought a camelbak and it has really helped me go the distance. Sorry to hijack! I started C25K two years ago. Have also ran several halfs and lots of 5Ks and 10Ks. My 5K time started at over 45min and I'm down to almost 32min without much speed training. I have a knee issue but have managed it with Pennsaid 2% (it's a new gel nsaid), zero drop shoes, and chi running form. The key to training is persistence. Just get out there and do your training plan. No way in hell I would have even fathomed two years ago that I would be able to run 15 miles! That's awesome!!! Yeah right? Go figure--who knew I had a runner in me? Not even old HS me who was a back of the pack walker! Congrats! Do you have a marathon planned? Mine is Memorial Day weekend!
  19. I didn't notice any weight gain, but some do. You are building muscle so that could be it... It also messes with your Water balance and retention if you don't drink enough to make sure you do that. I do notice that the only time I get hungry post op is when I am putting in a lot of miles (my sister calls it the Rungry's) so keep tracking to make sure your calories and carbs are supporting your effort and not subconsciously creeping up!

    Well, I Went Swimsuit Shopping

It just doesn't get any better. I've gotten down to a size 2-4 and the only suits they make in those sizes are skimpy tiny bikini bottoms! I have way too much loose skin that needs to be covered for that! The boy shorts cut off at the wrong part of my thighs and the high waisted bikinis look odd on me too. I need a high cut brief of soemthing. And Swimsuits for All is not, they only go down to a size 8!
  22. Couch to 5k is AWESOME!!! I was never ever a runner before and I completed it and ran my first 5k almost a year ago. When I started it I thought I was gonna DIE!!! Flash forward a year and I've run 5 and 10ks, Ragnar relays, a triathlon, some trail races and several half marathons. Am training for a full and did a long run of 18 miles today. If I can do it anyone can!!!

    What is your work-out regimen?

Pre surgery couch potato. Now I run. Started with couch to 5k and have worked up through 5ks 10ks, relays and trail races, a triathlon and half marathons. Training for a full marathon now--ran 18 miles today. I usually do about 30 miles a week these days. I also do yoga 3-4 times a week and a bit of cross training (biking and swimming) so I can do another triathlon later this year.

    Fast food favorites?

All good advice and covered most of what I do but I will add.. Jack in the box also has grilled chicken strips (they are the ones they use in the fajita pita) Street tacos from lots of places, I just eat the insides Panera bread's new broth bowls In a pinch MOST fast food places have a grilled chicken option either in a wrap or sandwich and you can request just the chicken.
