    Your weirdest breakfast?

LOVE Siggis! Didn't know they had snack tubes!!! Where did you find those?
  2. 3/4 of my consults in CA said outpatient. The fourth wanted to keep me one night in surgery center for observation
  3. All of a sudden the sales clerks approach me and want to actually HELP me now that I am a size 4. Service people make eye contact and smile when they didn't before, strangers strike up conversations. It isn't the people I KNOW who treat me differently, it's the strangers. Is it the weight or the new confidence? Probably both to be honest. But it's a HUGE difference for me.

    Getting Enough Water

For those of you struggling with water try different varieties of bottled water/tap water/filtered water/etc. for whatever reason (minerals? Density?) our well water which is filtered and clean and tastes quite good, feels heavy in my stomach and makes me nauseated (never did pre sleeve) I drink bottled water and I am fine!
  5. Cauliflower crust gets two thumbs up from my family! Even my picky eater 12 yo son! I made the 1-1-1 version. Heck it's good enough to eat plain as a snack (which I will do tomorrow for lunch!) Next up the "bread". Busy day tomorrow but will try it Wednesday
  6. Tying the cauliflower crust today! Thanks for putting everything on My Fitness Pal too! What a great idea!

    Discouraged, not losing!

7lbs in three weeks seems pretty darn good to me! As others have said, the 3 week mark often brings a slow down (search 3 week stall) and that will end. BUT it's also unrealistic to expect to continue to lose at the rate you did your first two weeks--10lbs a week is not sustainable--10lbs a month is more common. You often lose the most weight the first two weeks of any diet.
  8. Also you say you don't want to be miserable the "whole time". No one is asking you to be miserable the whole time, LOL. Maybe for a few weeks of liquids and even then it's only really when you are drinking them right? You can do that. Anyone can be miserable for a short period of time for long term gain right? 15 mins a couple times a day for a couple of weeks? You've got this!

    Your weirdest breakfast?

Leftovers-- sweet potato cakes, cilantro Soup, fish, chicken, insides of street tacos, stuff like that. Or there's always the spoonful of Peanut Butter =P
  10. "Can't tolerate" means you can't keep something down, not you don't like it/it's gross/whatever. You can tolerate the liquids. Try some other brands of Protein drinks, there are dozens of threads on suggestions. Don't move ahead on your diet because you don't like something. You are stronger than than. You've got this, give yourself the best possible chance for success.
  11. Nectar is whey isolate and matrix is a protein blend including whey and caesin which is a slower digesting protein. The nectar favors are also mostly more fruit/tea type drink and the matrix are more shake like (though a few of the nectars are shake like).

    Plastic Surgery

I have just finished four consultations in the states and three of the four would one wouldn't. Two would combine two of the four I wanted (arms, thighs, abdomen and breasts), one would combine three (all but thighs) and one would only do one at a time. The one who would do three said he won't normally and he limits himself to 8 hours, but he could tell that I wouldn't need a very long incision for the tummy tuck and same with the arms and no liposuction so he could do all three.

    Low sugar protein shake

Another Syntrax Matrix vote here! I also like a few of the nectars but prefer the matrix
  14. I think maybe your nutritionist is referring to foods that are primarily carbs? Not including foods that have incidental carbs like dairy (yogert, cheese, milk) and nuts and nut butter? Is that possible? What about vegetables? What about beans/legumes? I can't imagine a nut saying no carbs at all for a year! I can imagine one saying no bread/rice/potatoes/eric.

    Scar Tissue Constriction?

Wow poor thing my experience has been nothing like hers. And no actually that narrowing thing is not a potential complication I have heard of though most of the ones she mentions I have heard of at least.

    Scar Tissue Constriction?

VSG as a stand alone weight loss tool is new, the procedure has been in use for decades for stomach cancer patients and for a long time as a first stage weight loss surgery until the patients weight was low enough to do the second stage.
  17. Would love your coconut flour biscuit recipe and cauliflower pizza crust tips! I tried it once and it didn't turn out so well ????

    Plastic Surgery

I am in the heavily researching plastics stage and haven't had it yet, but had conscious sedation for wrist surgery in February. My experience was similar to what you describe for your nose surgery... I remember bits and pieces, tiny images and snippets. Would love to hear if it's the same for plastics. I am in the camp that prefers the conscious sedation to general anesthesia. I'd rather have a few snippets (they aren't disturbing to me) than the risks and difficult (for me personally) recovery involved with general. But I can't find a Us surgeon who will do twilight/conscious sedation.

    NSV shout outs

So I was in costco and a woman was looking at the creme brûlée Desserts they had in the cold/cook and serve section. We had gotten some for Christmas dinner (I ate about three bites of one) and so I said to her, they're really good. She and I chatted about them for a while, the price point and how to cook and serve them, how many were in a package... Then she says oh but look how many calories they are, for one little serving. And then she says "not that YOU have to worry about that!" I had to come clean and tell her that I am the size I am precisely BECAUSE I pay attention to that stuff! Wow! And the second for the week while having a plastic surgery consult the surgeon called me "tiny" and told me not to lose any more weight! Never in my life have I had a doctor tell me not to lose weight!

    What ya eating tonight?

Broiled salmon (coat w Dijon mustard and put under broiler) and roasted kale w/shallots and goat cheese (chop kale and shallots and toss in a bit of olive oil then roast at 350 turning till crispy then toss in a balsamic vinegar reduction and crumbled goat cheese). YUM!
  21. I use shakes in my coffee! It's makes a good latte/mocha/whatever. Usually I make up a Syntrax vanilla one and keep the shaker in the fridge and go through it in about three days worth of coffee. Or if I am lazy I use a pre made Atkins vanilla one.
  22. That is awesome! Congrats!!! I just want to caution people though... In reality couch to 5k works you up to running 30 mins nonstop. For MANY people that won't be 3.1 miles/5k. That's a pretty fast 5k for a beginner, under a 10 min mile, though no doubt some of you are running that fast! I did my first 5k race about three weeks after finishing couch to 5k and wasn't able to run the whole time. I finished with three or four walk breaks and my time was 47 minutes. So don't fret if you aren't getting the full 5k at the end of the program, just keep at it! My first sub 30 minute 5k was 7 months later. I just two days ago ran the same 5k race that was my first race a year ago (after running five half marathons and several relays and 10ks and a triathlon in between). I ran this one at just over 26 minutes and got 2nd place in the women's 40-49 bracket! So don't worry if you need more work after the program to get up to 5K! You can do it if you stick with it!!!
  23. I buy goat cheese all the time and love it--and my sisters friend has a goat and she taught my sister to make goat cheese from her goats and it was different from what you get it the stores buy wonderful... Now it's just all about convincing my husband! I am by no means an expert in breeds but I've not heard of that one will research it! In my old prehistoric 4-H days we raised an Alpine and my friends had Neubians I think? And there are several properties around us with varieties of Pygmy gloats. Are some better for dairy purposes than others? I don't see myself using them for meat. We raise chickens and ducks, and have never been able to use them for anything but eggs and pets so I can't see goats being any different LOL!
