    Alcoholic drinks after surgery

Does this study control for difference in body weight? Just wondering because while I'm sure part of it is the effects from the surgery, the part about the effects increasing as you get further out makes me think, well of course the less body mass you have the drunker you get too. I had sleeve not bypass and I have definitely become a lightweight! But the effects pass more quickly as well.

    To much protein ?

Well any weight based calculation is just a rule of thumb. It's based on your lean body mass and to know that you have to have your weight AND body fat percentage but even then there are different schools of thought about it.

    To much protein ?

Sodium is a problem for blood pressure and the heart so yeah, I'd watch processed foods especially to get those numbers down

    To much protein ?

Yes there is such a thing, but you aren't there at 120g. In fact if you're a guy you're probably getting just enough! Too much Protein at one time especially can cause kidney problems. But that's WAY too much protein. I do wonder how you are getting in that much protein so early out though! I am 18 months out and struggle to get in 90g/day! Good job!

    Plastic surgery scheduled

Yes the time will come! Different doctors have different methods and standards.. I interviewed with five and emailed two out of the country before choosing mine. His limit for himself is 8 hours in surgery and he felt with my low body fat he could comfortably complete my surgeries in that time and he did! Recovery was likely harder because I was messed up basically everywhere LOL, but for me and my lifestyle I'd rather be fully down once that partially down several times LoL! But the end will all be fantastic no matter how you get there!!!

    Plastic surgery scheduled

You're having exactly what I had (though I had it all at once) and your doc said same thing mine did--no fat left, so yeah I needed implants too! So I had TT, brachioplasty and lift/implants. I am beyond thrilled with my results! I hope you will be too! Had mine June 20th and a super smooth recovery. Feeling better than ever!
  7. I had mine done 18 months post WLS which was 6 months at goal. My breasts changed significantly during those six months and did regain some of their shape (not much though!). BUT that said, I'm not sure the results of my lift/aug would have been any different if I had had them right when I met goal. He would have just taken off more skin! I am beyond thrilled with my results though I must say!

    Drains!

I totally feared the drain, but they weren't nearly as bad as I thought. I had a tummy tuck, breast lift/Aug and brachioplasty at the same time. Only needed two drains for the tummy tuck. The first came out in 48 hours and the second 48 hours after that. They hurt like heck coming out, but it was over super quickly!

    Loose Skin

Loose skin is annoying, but nothing compares with being obese. You can always hide loose skin. Obesity not so much.
  10. Don't give up yet! For about six months after I stopped losing my skin kept tightening up. I'm 46 so it didn't snap nearly all the way back, but at a year and a half out it was MUCH better. Give it a chance!
  11. Those quest ones are tasty! I can still only eat half of one cup at a time, so I cut them and keep them wrapped in the freezer for a treat!
  12. Wow, that was brave of you. I did the same--was afraid I'd chicken out if I spread them out, LOL!
  13. Wow!!! At LEAST 20 years younger! Holy smokes! I had TT, lift and aug and brachioplasty... Toyed with a facelift but had decided not for now. Your results are definitely making me reconsider!

    Someone slap me please!

This statement is true if you want to be fat again. My surgeon and NUT said NO carbonated drinks, NO processed foods, NO processed sugars, NO processed breads, tortilla, and chips......Not strongly discouraged. We can certainly eat most all foods post op, if we want to be fat again. Sooo....uhmmmm.... Yeah. I'll refrain from replying. Amen to that!

    Yoga post-op

LOVE YOGA!!! started slowly about a month out and now practice daily going to classes 3-4 times a week. Just make sure you get a teacher who can help explain modifications to you as you are starting out. Much as a love yoga, though, it did NOTHING for my loose skin. Genetics, age, how long you've been overweight, if you've yo-yo'd all have more impact.

    Boobs Shrinking?

Went from 42DD to a 32DD which was mostly skin rolled up into my bra! I called them a 32L (long). Had a lift/implant and am now back to my 32DD but they are full and normal looking!

    Former csection mommies

Wow that's crazy! My gallbladder was easily the quickest and least painful of the three! I was raring to go from the minute I woke up from surgery. Part of it was probably that I had gone undiagnosed for years and didn't realize how badly it had been making me feel all that time and I finally felt GOOD. But really, it was very easy for me. I do wonder if you had a bad surgeon.

    Leptin and Runner's High

I eat half an hour to an hour before. I wanna be like OKC Pirate who doesn't eat at all before! But I just can't

    Leptin and Runner's High

Oh no I understand Leptin and what it does I just didn't get out of the article that running on an empty stomach did anything to the Leptin levels. Maybe I missed it. I just read that the Leptin levels led to a runners high and the desire to go longer/faster. Where does it talk about that changing the Leptin levels? That's what I missed. I only got out of it that the Leptin levels made you want to run longer/faster. Sadly I can't usually watch the videos on my phone but I will try to watch it later

    Leptin and Runner's High

See right after a workout that long I don't want ANYTHING to eat! In fact I have trouble fueling enough on long runs and races (half and full marathon) because by about 2/3 of the way I don't want to put Anything in my stomach, even Water. If I don't eat before, I completely bonk if I'm going more than about 3-4 miles. I should add that later in the day, say 3 hours after, THEN I'm HUNGRY.

    Leptin and Runner's High

I must really be missing something, where in that article does it talk about exercise? Which page/section?
  25. jess9395

    Leptin and Runner's High

Wait I just read that article and I didn't get that out of it... It says that runners basically have lower leptin levels in general (all that the running needs fuel) and that running with lower leptin levels increases the desire to run further/faster and leads to the "runners high." Am I missing something?
