Carbonation hurts my stomach so no on that. Bread very occasionally but it sits like a lump in my stomach. Now that I am at goal I confess I have a cookie a couple times a month. Sometimes once a week even! I run a lot so I can eat more than some.

When did you buy new clothes?
jess9395 replied to Sara51692's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
PM me for a free $20 at thred up! I love them and have gotten credit for lots of my clothes I've sent in. Have to be solid brands and in really good shape though. Goodwill is totally hit or miss but as you go down in size it's more hits. 8-12 especially, then it gets hit or miss again. Ross TJ Maxx Burlington Coat factory are good. Get a dress clip (or a mitten clip) and you can take in dresses and blouses at the back with it and wear them for longer. Leggings and Maxi skirts. -
So my surgeons medical group wanted to do an article featuring his program for their foundation magazine and the surgeon and his coordinator recommended me for the article. I got to do a photoshoot and they interviewed me for the article. My surgeons office liked the pic so much they asked to use one for their new patient info packet. Wanted to share some of the pix! These were done two weeks post plastics (breast lift/Aug, tummy tuck and brachioplasty) so there's actually some residual swelling, but no complaints here. I've since chopped my hair to above my shoulders so I almost want to get another set of pix done, LOL, to show that off! SW 271 CW 135 Body fat 67% current 18% Size 20/22 now 2/4

I LOVE my slow cooker! Haven't been using it much this summer, but when it gets colder it will be coming out again. One of my favorites is white chicken chilli: Chicken breasts and thighs White canelli Beans Canned Ortega chillies Chopped onion Cumin Chilli powder Chicken broth I use the "fix it and forget it" cookbooks and adjust to make low carb/high Protein.

My TT alone was about $7k I think (I had multiple procedures done so I would have to check to be sure). That was Skin removal and muscle tightening. I shopped around an got seven quotes and they all circled around that same amount. Not to sound stalker ish but I think I might recognize your location from the background of a few of your pics and I wonder if you and I live in the same neck of the woods. If so I'd love to recommend my plastic surgeon and I'd happily share the info from the others I met with. PM me and I will tell you where I live and see if I am right!

Check with your doc. I know many say no NSAIDS, but mine said the occasional NSAID was fine if I had a headache or something since I have no issues with stomach acid. He didn't want me taking it long term or for anything chronic, but is fine with a few here and there (I am a runner so that's a huge boon for me for the occasional injury). Otherwise ask for a prescription of Tramadol. It's a non NSAID non narcotic pain reliever that works quite well.

How do you "remind" yourself to eat?
jess9395 replied to J170's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not sure I agree with this. You want to get your Protein in so you don't lose muscle mass while losing weight. You might be surprised! I hated cottage cheese pre op but don't mind it at all now. Along with Peanut Butter (which I now LOVE) and a few other things!I love PB but I'm not approved to eat it yet.Confession: I've never had cottage cheese but the texture disturbs me. Texture of food can turn me off. I promised myself that I would try it before I hit 1 month post op LOL fair enough. How about ricotta? Different texture. Or laughing cow cheese? Vitamin shoppe has protein pudding. -

I rarely feel hunger. When I do 2-3 spoons of pudding or applesauce do the trick. Which, isn't enough food Especially because it has no protein!!! Substitute Protein rich foods or at least mix some Protein powder in!! -

Some of us dont feel "hunger" anymore... So its not that straight forward ???? Yup! If I ate only when I was hungry I would have stopped eating for about six months ???? -
Thank you for the info. I have much more reading to do. The taste is growing on me. But I am still very sad that my old ones are gone. I haven't tasted the new formulas yet so I may be sad too after all. The two newest flavors (mint choc and s'mores) have always had the corn fiber but they've never been my favorites because they are the "crumbly" kind for want of a better word, like the Cookies and Cream ones and I prefer the smoother tootsie roll textured ones so time will tell!

Set a timer. Do you have a smart phone? Use the timer on it. Or set an alarm clock. Or just a kitchen timer. Use cues through your day, things you do every day like say drive to work, or watch the 6pm news. Use those to cue yourself. And when you do remember try hard to eat protein first. Nothing wrong with the pudding per se, but if you aren't getting in your protein add some protein powder to the pudding or try some Greek yogurt instead. Skip the applesauce and have cottage cheese. When you have sooooo little "real estate" in your new tummy it's important to have protein first always! For when you are out running errands, Eat right before you leave (another possible cue to remember to eat) and bring along a pre mixed protein shake or some powder a water bottle and a shaker bottle. Lots of other options depending on how far out you are, but it sounds like you aren't very far out, so start there. -

Hmmmm I might actually like the change. The old fiber in them was HIGHLY processed chemically: http://blog.fooducate.com/2013/12/30/are-quest-bars-really-as-nutritious-as-claimed/ And the source of the big lawsuit: https://m.reddit.com/r/Fitness/comments/1vihyr/the_quest_bar_lawsuitand_why_science_shows_its/ So I'm game for the change.

Interesting! I just bought a bunch and they have the same old ingredients. Maybe I should stock up!

I'm with @@CowgirlJane I had tummy tuck w muscle repair, brachioplasty and breast lift with augmentation at the same time and the pain was NOT unmanageable at all. I was sore, sure, but more tired than anything. After a couple days was down to Tylenol. -
No clue about CLA but you can continue to lose weight without losing muscle mass. I dropped 135lbs and down to 18% body fat so it can be done!!

Tummy tuck questions about scar
jess9395 replied to Meintraining's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
It really depends on you and your personal situation. When I had mine done my surgeon and I discussed both and decided the inverted T scar wasn't worth the benefit for me. I really only had excess skin, no subcutaneous fat or anything. And it was limited. Yeah I still have some laxity around my middle... I won't be able to show off a six pack ever because it's just covered by some skin still... But I will be able to wear a bikini so I am good! Here are my before and afters, three months out. I DID have the muscle tightening which I needed after two kids and years of yoyo dieting and obesity. The top is before. The middle shows how the scar is covered by bikini cut underwear. The bottom shows the scar. I have a bit of a dog ear at the ends which will be fixed, but my hip bones also poke out which makes for an odd bump at the ends! If I could pick where it went I would gain another 5lbs or so back to cover that up and give it a nice contour there. -
Sleeve Size and Other Questions for PreOp Appointment

@@del112 at three weeks out you are still very swollen. You won't know your true capacity till several months out most likely. For many people about 3-6 months is when we discover our true capacity. -
Sleeve Size and Other Questions for PreOp Appointment
jess9395 replied to ellie123's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor uses a smaller bougie than most (32) and oversews the staple line which make it even smaller. I haven't had an reflux/acid problems, but it is definitely more likely with a smaller sleeve. Even at 20 months out I need a Protein shake daily to get my protein in because my restriction is pretty tight still and I can't eat enough protein without constant grazing. That said, I wouldn't have it any other way. I lost my 135lbs in a year and am easily keeping it off and don't miss large portions at all. Heck that's why I did this! I didn't pick my size, like cowgirl I picked my surgeon and trusted his judgement and am glad j did! -
Lol see I like the lemon meringue and can't stand the s'mores! Everyone is different.
