Hot yoga scares me too and I've been doing yoga for a while now! Lots of different forms and levels of intensity! My 80 year old mother in law still does restorative yoga once a week!
-
All poses can be modified or supported (blocks, bolsters, blankets, etc) to support any physical limitations. Yin and gentle and restorative yoga are good places to begin. Find a teacher who is hands on and willing to help you figure out how to work with your limitations

@@Elode what a day! And you prevailed! Thanks for making me laugh. I had WAY too much coffee supporting/hovering late into the night while my daughter finished her first round of college apps but prevailed as well! And tomorrow will be hump day yes! I am reserving the right to one very low carb high protein meal while we are on the road visiting colleges but NO snacks or candy and liquids the rest of the day. Will check in again tomorrow... Hang tough everyone -

There is so many contradictions It's a typo she meant to say the idea that you CAN'T Incorporate fruit into a healthy diet is ridiculous. No contradictions. -
serious question for fellow "veterans"
jess9395 replied to CowgirlJane's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
Strange, I'm almost two years out and still don't consider myself a veteran. I guess maybe I am. Anyhow I think everyone is relevant and has something to offer. Some people want to hear it some don't. My philosophy is take what you want and leave the rest. I find your posts particularly relevant to me! -

@@Elode you've got this! Thanks for being a great ringleader!!! So glad you've got your Premier Protein shakes now. Made my own blended shake tonight for dinner--threw in some frozen scoops of pumpkin purée (I keep frozen fruit and such in the freezer just for shakes), plain Greek yogurt, vanilla Syntrax matrix some pumpkin pie spice and fair life milk! Felt very virtuous! I tried to tell myself that Panera Butternut squash soup counted as a liquid, but held strong and just had iced coffee! Got in all my water plus several cups of coffee with a splash of half and half. -

Lol yeah the peeing is the worst! I am sitting here at the HS waiting to pick up my freshman and weighing the pros and cons of trying to find a bathroom on campus! I can't live without my PB Cookie Protein shake, I put the powder in yogurt, oatmeal, basically everything! Mint choc is my second fave. Hope you get your Premier Protein soon! And yikes that's early, wow I would be taking zzzquil too! -

Calling Anyone Who's Gained Serious Weight Down The Road?
jess9395 replied to Cape Crooner's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I LOVE this thinking and it's what is currently working for me! I settled at my new weight at a year out. A big part of my new lifestyle is fitness--running and yoga specifically. I held steady easily to 18 months out and my goal of running a full Marathon. Then I gained some (8-10lbs) after inactivity following my plastics. Setting new running goals and scheduling races is what got me back down to "fighting weight" and keeps me on track. So far anyhow. Going on two years now so still a long way to go before I feel like I've got maintenance down, but I think continuing to set new goals will be a HUGE part of it for me. Yes I think you are correct here Yes this exactly -
Wow, good for you for confronting things head on! that shows enormous strength and insight! Wishing you all the help and support you need to get through this for yourself and your kids! This too shall pass, you've got this!

I had very very few symptoms other than lack of a period. A couple of hot flashes a couple of times a month for maybe six months and that's basically it. My on/gyn said they could run a test of some sort to determine if it really was menopause (I was pretty early, like 43) and I said would you do anything differently based on those results? She said no so I said why bother (I've had a tubal ligation so no pregnancy issues). So there is some kind of test (hormonal) to see if it's truly menopause. You should ask about it!

I've been pretty good on my Water recently bc I always hydrate well for my races and it's race season... But also during race season I can get a little carb-y which is fine when I'm actually racing, but it can bleed over! So this is a good thing! Still not sure what I will do this weekend, road trip to visit colleges with my daughter and I know we will try some local eatery so reserving the "right" to take the weekend off and finish my days next week LOL! Here's my Breakfast... Half scoop Fit Frappe chai latte and half scoop HIIT pumpkin spice in unsweetened almond milk! YUM! -
Oops forgot the chopped cilantro!

Hmmmm.... I was thinking of doing something along those lines but wasn't gonna do 5 whole days, LOL! I ate too much sugar over my race weekend and wanted to get back on track. I will do tomorrow and Friday with you for sure. And maybe one meal each day over the weekend and shakes the rest of the time... And then again on Monday/Tuesday, how's that? -
What did your breast's do?
jess9395 replied to meyouus's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
No. Did tons of yoga and planking and all that. I have great muscle tone and low body fat, but it doesn't help retain skin tone or breast tissue and you can't decide where the fat disappears from.
