Most people also subtract sugar alcohols and that's a bit more questionable. Quest bars do have sugar alcohols and the net carbs they advertise subtracts those.

"Dog Ear" After Tummy Tuck?
jess9395 replied to livvsmum's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I'm thrilled with my tummy tuck and didn't need or want the 360. I too have a dog ear on one side and my doc is going to fix it free of charge...I would think yours would too, it's basically fixing their original surgery (they can't always control how it heals but it's their work they are standing behind so they fix it). He said he would do it under local anesthesia in the office. I'm having it done next month. -
Be patient. At a year out and 135lbs down I felt the same way. But a year later now it's soooo much better and I'm 45 and had other plastics because skin elsewhere didn't come back. The neck skin still isn't perfect but it's a LOT better

Survey - at what point did you get your drivers license/ID photo retaken?
jess9395 replied to Daisee68's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I kinda love having my old pic LOL and it proves how few people even look at the pic or compare it to the person standing in front of them! Have only had two people ever mention it and I look like a completely different person. one who had lost the same amount of weight himself so he "got" it and once at airport security where they said I should probably get a new one. -
Fair life Skim? Where are you?

Lucerne has the same product under the name Protein plus milk if you have a grocery that carries Lucerne dairy products. As for whole milk having more nutrition, can you please share what that nutrition is? I know children up to age two are supposed to have full fat milk because they need the fat for the myelination of the neuron sheaths in their brain (the "insulation" on the brain "wires" as it were is made up of fat). But why do adults need it? -
What is Your Exercise Experience Post Plastics...
jess9395 replied to NewSetOfCurves's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
My pre surgery routine was running 20+ miles a week and pretty intense yoga 3-4 times a week (core work including planking, boat pose, etc). I ran a marathon 10 days before plastics and did a Spartan race five days before. I did exactly what my doc asked and waited six weeks before starting back up again. And that was pretty much everything. I think I ran maybe 8 miles that first week and then moved up to 10 the next week. Yoga once first week then twice for a few weeks. But I had very little swelling after about week four. I had tummy tuck, Breast lift and augmentation and arm lift. -

TT scars what's typical
jess9395 replied to Meintraining's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I did embrace scar therapy it's a patented system that removes the tension from the incision. It's pricey but they have clinical research to back it up and I was really impressed with the results. -

I know lots of people wore theirs a very long time so you will get various answers but I only wore my binder for six weeks. The doctor said I was done and I did scar treatments and my scars are wonderful and I just didn't feel I needed the support anymore. -
Oh don't get me wrong I have no issue with you posting again I just didn't want you to miss all the good replies in that discussion because I know a lot of them won't make it over here, that's all!

Beware cc size of implants doesn't equate to any cup size and they can't guarantee cup size. Also depends on your band size. I'm sure you've heard all those statistics about people wearing the wrong size bra--often if you go down in band size to the true size you should be wearing (so the band stays low and snug and doesn't ride up at all) your cup size will be much bigger than you think it should be. I had very little tissue left and only had 300cc implants and am a 32 DDD. When I was my lightest before I thought I wore a 36 band size and now I think I was wearing the wrong size back then. If I currently put on a 36" band I would wear about a C/D cup. In a 32 I wear a DDD. Same size boobs just different band size. And I run just fine with them...20+ miles a week lots of half marathons and one full. -
Lol see another example of different things working for different people! I recently tried a pair of mizuno racing flats w minimal soles and couldn't hack it! I like some cush/support. Lots of running stores will have a 30 day or even 60 day return policy if the shoes don't work out It takes awhile to get used to it, but its much like barefoot running.. a lot of people do not have adequate foot support from too much cushioning. I run pretty much injury free in the shoes I wear now. Is there another reason I should switch?

I had those two and a tummy tuck all together. I was back to normal activities at two weeks but Moving kinda slowly. Most of it was the tummy tuck though. Others have had different experience though. Hopefully you will get a wide response and get an idea, everyone is different. For reference I was back to normal a week after WLS. -
Maybe it was working and you didn't know... Did you have the "hair ball" while you were on it?

Are you on a PPI For acid? Because honestly acid can feel that way. I didn't realize I had acid before surgery because it just felt like I had a hair I just couldn't cough up in my throat. My surgeon said oh yeah that's how reflux feels sometimes!

Exercise on post-op low calorie diet
jess9395 replied to citygirl1962's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was never physically active even in HS, except for a couple of seasons of volleyball. I started couch to 5k at a few weeks out and energy never seemed to be a problem even when I was at 500-800 calories a day. I moved up to at least a mile a day and a couple of yoga classes a week by 5 months out. Trained 10-20 miles a week starting at month 7 and ran a half marathon at 10 months out at 900 calories a day (very low carb). Was doing 3-4 yoga classes a week too by then. I know you say you can't imagine it, but leave your mind open to it and you may surprise yourself. -
Bariatric Specialist VS the Nutritionist, Round 1, Fight!
jess9395 replied to BlueBongo's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
People switch doctors all the time for a variety of reasons. If your concern is your insurance company call and ask, but I can't imagine it will be a problem. If your concern is the new doctor's requirements call them and ask them. Long term success is often much better with more support. If you do stay with your current program make sure you are taking enough Vitamins, especially the B vitamins and Iron if you are a pre menopausal woman. That will help with the energy levels. -

Help! Can't find a protein drink that I can tolerate!
jess9395 replied to talkingmountain's topic in Pre-op Diets and Questions
After many tries these are the ones I like (and I could never stand the premier Protein either) Syntrax Matrix esp vanilla, Peanut Butter cookie, mint cookie Syntrax nectar esp iced tea, lemonade and dragonfruit (these are more clear juice type than shake type) Fit frappe spiced chai Quest especially salted caramel, banana and peanut butter cookie Click coffee ones BSN syntha 6 esp Mochaccino, vanilla ice cream and orange cream (these are for maintenance or if you workout a lot because they are higher carb)
