    I don't miss:
Breaking into a case of lip sweat from walking briskly from one side of a building to another.
Breathing heavy at the top of the steps.
Being self conscious about what I put in my grocery cart.

Telling the dressing room lady that I need a different size even if it's bigger.
Having to roll over to my knees and push myself up off the floor.
Having to use the ladder to get out of the pool.

I remember a time where a girl I thought I was going to marry left me for a guy 100lbs lighter. I'm not going to miss that crap at all.
She left me for a skinny little guy...maybe one day I'll be the skinny guy in the story.

I just got my surgery on the 9th , I'm back home now ! DR GARCIA And his team and everyone at the hospital were excellent and very caring , constantly checking on me and my fellow sleeves for that day and week! The hospital staff kept checking on me frequently and cared for all my needs... The ready 4 change staff were on point all spoke English and made me feel very comfortable. Everything they told me on line or on the phone was exactly what they did! Nothing was different , I never had to say "that's not what you guys told me" Never!!! Because the way the explained me was exactly what occurred , felt very confident and reassured and extremely happy. So don't you worry you ARE in good hands believe me! The Marriott treated us awesome and they were so friendly. The driver Samuel sr and Jr were both professional and spoke English and even gave us a tour of downtown and he even stopped twice for Starbucks and at a convenient store for us. What great guys... Ok take care and font sweat it piece of cake ....good luck anything else just ask. Steve

I would tell you you had a large lunch or a dinner the night before that didn't agree with you. Tell her that you had a bit of water-poo in the day previous and that you need to go easy with some clear broth Soup and perhaps a side salad.

Girl, couldn't you bring her to one of those real swanky French restaurants.. You know the ones that serve you an artfully put together plate that would only feed a gnat and cost a million dollars that most normal people would have to stop at Micky D's after for a meal cause they'd be starving

We all have the fear of failing. But this may also be fear of the unknown also. I had the same type of issue. I was thinking of all the food I would be missing out on instead of the better health and way of life I was about to experience. I'm diabetic and am now controlling it with my diet and exercise alone. No more medication. I feel a lot better and have found a bunch of useful recipes on the site that I can make. Aside from the liquids for three weeks after surgery that I had to endure it has been the best thing I have done for myself. You can and will succeed. If I can do it, you can do it also. Good luck with the rest of your journey and please keep us updated here. Can't wait to hear about your success.

Hi Dani, and welcome to this site. You will find many nice people here and they are so helpful providing information and details about their personal experiences. Be sure to visit the many areas on the site. It has helped me tremendously. I am hoping my surgery will take place in February so we are pretty close on this journey. All of us here have food addictions of some sort or another so we understand and hope that you will find the help and support you need. Thanks for sharing your personal information. We've all been there and we're all just hanging out here to give and to get support in the journey to true health. Janet

Hey, guys...I had my surgery on November 20th. I am not taking in an enormous amount of fluids, but I do think I am getting in a pretty good amount. My surgeon really had no recommendations (as far as Vitamins are concerned...I did it in Mexico). I told him that I wanted to take some and what would be ok. He said that I shouldn't take any kind of pill or chewable. He suggests only having liquid Vitamins, but then he says that most liquid Multivitamins have zinc. He said that zinc is going to be bad on my stomach. The AquADEK's chewables I have have zinc, too. I did break down last night and give the liquid vitamins a try as I am so stressed out about becoming Vitamin deficient. My lips are a little chapped and when I took the liquid vitamins it burned my lips. It scared me because then I was scared of what it was doing to my freshly cut stomach. I don't know if maybe it was due to the vitamins being citrus flavored (my doc said nothing citrus or acidic) or if it was the Vitamin itself. Any suggestions? I really need to be taking something! Any recommendations on a good Multivitamin? I prefer liquid if anyone has any info. I know I can handle swallowing down a less tasty liquid easier than chewing a less tasty chewable that will stay ground in my teeth and last for a while! Thanks!
I was also told that I shouldn't have any Protein powder/drinks or anything at all. My diet right now strictly consists of swanson low sodium chicken broth, Water, and juices. I am not getting much calories, Protein, vitamins...anything really.

I had been at a plateau for a while but I pushed through and the scale DID eventually move! Never, ever quit!

Wow, this is definitely not what I wanted to hear. I am pre surgery and I really do not want to lose any of my hair but I suppose I will have to make a choice...lose weight/lose hair VS keep hair/keep weight. I know I want the weight gone... I will learn to adjust.

One thing I've learned about online blogs is some statements care easily be taken out of context real quick. I try to not take offense too quick while reading online posts/blogs. But I always do say, "Consider the source". Meaning, think about the person you are getting your information from. Then make your opinion.

    food for thought.

Hello Everyone. I thought it might be a good time to post a before and after picture of my journey so far. I started my 3 week liquid diet on May 23, 2013, had my surgery on May 12, 2013. My starting weight was 360 pounds and as of today I am down to 263 pounds. For anyone who is struggling it can be done. I still have another 63 pounds to go before I hit my goal of 200 pounds. I know I have many challenges ahead but I now have the confidence to meet them head on. Thank you to everyone who has supported me on my journey so far.

My advice is get used to it and learn how to make others comfortable with the topic. I lost alot of weight and some people freaked out on me... when I travel to other locations I am often not recognized.
I had a couple of guys really react....like telling me I am hot in a shocked...like who could ever imagine THAT tone. I could be insulted but I took the gracious route. I have so many supporters...I feel blessed by their genuine happiness for me.
I too am a professional career woman.
Of course people noticed we were obese!
This is a mixed blessing part of the journey.
