Yeah, I've had the same experiences. I love the new reflection and I'm starting to have an addiction to shopping. This being thinner and healthier is so much fun.

So Close... But Yet So Far
1Day1Life4Now commented on rhodywoman's blog entry in Onederful Opportunity
Everyone relax. Most people have these same experiences and feelings. If it was as easy as sticking to a diet and never cheating, none of us would have ever needed the surgery. If you can stick to your pre surgery diet and exercise it will enhance your overall success and jump start your weight loss. Just do the best you can and stop beating yourself up. Drink your water and try to drink some protein drinks so you develop a taste for them and start walking every day. The rest will take care of itself. Wishing you all luck with a successful surgery and an easy time of healing. See you on your losers bench. -
Good luck. I hope you win your appeal. Insurance should allow these surgeries for most people as it will save them a ton of money in the long run. Losing weight and getting healthy is such an amazing way to live. I wish you the best.

how much can you eat with the sleeve longterm
1Day1Life4Now replied to SUNNYNYC's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am almost 6 months out from sleeve surgery and I still eat small amounts. I am okay with that. One thing I've noticed is that my tastes have changed considerably and many of the foods that I loved pre surgery just do not appeal to me anymore. That makes it so much easier to live with the food limitations. I just try to eat my Protein and veggies and the rest takes care of itself. This is such an easy lifestyle and I just don't care that much about food anymore. I love being able to fit in all of my clothes. Life is really good. -
when did you go back to work?
1Day1Life4Now replied to Loristi's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I had my surgery on a Tuesday and went back to work on Monday. I had all my food and drinks ready in my lunch cooler so that part was easy. I did get tired and would go to bed shortly after getting home from work. It took me about 5 or 6 weeks to get my stamina back but I felt okay after two weeks. Everybody is different so you will have to play it by ear and do what is best for you.Good luck and hope you have no issues with surgery and a quick recovery. -
4 days post op question!
1Day1Life4Now replied to onthefencejenny's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The first two weeks I just did the best I could. I attempted to drink but didn't get that much down. I ate popsicles, ate chicken broth, and sugar free kool aid, crystal lite, and whatever else I could get to stay down. Never could get more than 3 bites at a time but that is okay. Every day is progress. -
Does anyone regret it?
1Day1Life4Now replied to XForeverYoursX's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am very happy with the sleeve and feel it has really helped me make positive changes in my life for a healthier life. I don't regret having the surgery one bit but to be honest, that first two weeks after surgery was a bit difficult and I kept thinking, WTF have I done to myself. LOL Of course it got easier day by day and once I could start eating food I knew I had made the right choice. I am so happy I had the surgery and would do it again if I had to. I do wish I lost weight a little more quickly as I see some others have but I realize we are all different and we all lose at a different rate. For a 59 yr old I think I'm doing okay. I don't miss that 60 pounds I've lost and can't wait to lose the next 60, -

Have you tried Reglan? Though I have done great with this surgery I had 9 months of nausea and vomiting when pregnant. The Reglan did offer some relief during the second pregnancy. Ask your doc about it. -

Body feels like it is ripping apart, even where there are no incisions!
1Day1Life4Now replied to pik's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know its only been a couple of weeks but walking really does help with the pain. I too have RA and I had a lot of limitations but movement is the key to everything. Even if you are just walking up and down the driveway. Movement will help you heal and it helps with the pain. Good luck and hope you heal soon. -
focus on healing, this part of the weight loss journey will soon just be a memory. You can make it through this, just face the diet one day at a time. You can make it one day. Then the same for the next day. Giving in to your wants put you in a really bad place as far as your weight is concerned. Follow the plan as your doctor h as set forth for you and you will be more successful. Good luck on your weight loss.

Feeling guilty
1Day1Life4Now replied to Butterbeanfly's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Don't feel guilty about spending that money on yourself. Think of it this way...you will be spending a lot less on medical bills for health problems related to obesity once you have started losing weight. This is a health investment and an investment in your future. You are worth it. Good luck with your surgery and enjoy the process of getting healthy. In the long run you will come out ahead in the financial department. -
Breast Reduction & UHC
1Day1Life4Now replied to tebowfan's topic in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
I went to one surgeon and he filed the paper work with my insurance and it was denied. A year later I went to a medical seminar where a Plastic Surgeon was giving a presentation on the various and most popular types of plastic surgery. Afterwards I spoke to him about breast reductions and how my insurance had denied it. He told me to come see him and promised me he could get my insurance company to pay for it. He was true to his word and my insurance company did pay for it. It's all about how it is written up. I had very large breasts, back and neck pain, rashes underneath, indentions in the shoulders. It was medically necessary but it had to be written up just right. They do a lift with the reduction. The reduction and the sleeve have been my two gifts to myself and insurance paid for both of them. Color me happy. :-) -

Stuck at 5 months out?
1Day1Life4Now replied to gastricsleever's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
i had my surgery Feb 10th and I keep hovering between 203 and 205. I just can't seem to get to Onederland. I think its the dreaded 5 month stall. I'm not giving up so you don't either. Maybe we just need to exercise more. I think I'll do a couple of days of liquids and increase my exercise. Somebody else told me I needed to increase my calories but I can't eat any more than I'm eating. Don't get too frustrated, keep in mind that we're not in a race, we are in a life time Quest for a healthy life. Good luck. Let me know if you find the magic bullet. -
No its not too late. Call your doctor monday morning and tell him/her what you want to do. The doctor works for you, you are paying them so you should get what you want. Good luck to you,

sounds like you are almost ready for D day. Good luck.

I started losing my hair as soon as I hit 3 months. It came out in huge clumps when I washed it and flew off my head when I brushed my hair. I had already read all the sites on here so I pretty much knew it was going to happen and that I had to deal with it. I went out and bought a blonde wig about the same color as my hair so I had something to fall back on. I increased my fish and red meat consumption and increased my olive oil on salads. I take the Biotin as a precaution so I don't know if it really works or not. I haven't noticed any extra hair growth on my legs or other areas so maybe it doesn't help at all, who knows. Hair loss continues a bit but has slowed down a lot. I am contributing it to the increased meat and the fact that I have quit stressing about it. I read the book the Alchemist and decided to live in the moment because pretty soon the hair loss will just be a memory. The stress does more damage than anything else. What will be will be so move on and address the things you do have control over. Little hair or no hair....we're all thinner and healthier. Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

Divorce rates and WLS. (link to article inside)
1Day1Life4Now replied to bflblog's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My husband and I will celebrate our 35th anniversary in July. I was small when we married and didn't gain weight till after I had children. He has loved me this long and can't see it changing. He is so proud of me and tells everyone how hard I work at getting healthy. I believe we will be just fine when I get to the goal line. I can see where things might be different in younger couples where people are getting a lot of attention that they didn't get before. The temptation can be overwhelming for some and with the ease of meeting people on line, the possibility of being attracted to somebody else becomes more possible. For us older and settled folks, the temptation for romance is not as great and I think we are more into being healthy, looking good, and being able to be active. -
Oh that makes me laugh. I have a sad history with my former principals. I work for the federal government as a contracting officer.
