Where are the Mississippi Sleevers?
1Day1Life4Now replied to 1Day1Life4Now's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thanks WhoDat, I've been thinking about this surgery for the last 10 years so my anxiety is pretty minimal right now. I'm just ready to get it over and start the journey. Thanks for the offer of advice... I will certainly keep you on quick dial for my many questions once the surgery is done. I feel so fortunate to have this opportunity. Congratulations on yours and your wife's success at this, I know it has added a whole new dimension to your lives. I wish I could talk my husband into this but he is not interested. He has diabetes and high BP and takes lots of medications and could really benefit from it. I am just a happy eater...no health problems and I don't take any medications. I think once I have lost weight my hubby may take a serious look at this option... sure hope so. Stay warm and stay off the roads. Thanks again. -
I think i fell in lovw tonight with my professor lol

Well, if you have to go to class, you might as well enjoy the view. ha ... just enjoy the eye candy since it has zero calories, zero carbs and it's legally on your diet. -

600lb life Chuck and Nissa Story
1Day1Life4Now replied to lynn2win's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The doll thing is just too weird and any doctor that promotes that should have his license revoked. Anyway, Every week when I watch the show "My 600 lb. Life" I learn something new. It's a great show for us WLS folks. Everyone has emotional baggage...it helped us get where we are/were in the Weight game. The people they are showing on TV are not meeting with counselors to address their emotional issues...and it is affecting their relationships and their WL journey. So, that being said, we need to get our heads in the game and address these issues. I am so happy my surgeon makes us go through the classes that address these things. I'll never complain about going again. Losing weight and keeping it off is a whole lot more than dieting and losing the weight...it is a major head game. -
Where are the Mississippi Sleevers?
1Day1Life4Now replied to 1Day1Life4Now's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Oh yeah Who Dat, we are frozen where I am too. Had a beautiful snow today. Too bad I had to work. Since you are very close to Picayune, I am going to consider you a Mississippian. To the rest of the country they lump Ms,LA, Al, and Ark all into one anyway. LOL. We can be the southern fried sleevers with a gumbo kick. We can show em how southern pride loses weight. -
Congratulations. Glad to hear you are doing well and you are not in too much pain. Sounds positive for my upcoming sleeve. Take care and let us hear about your progress.

Urgent help needed!
1Day1Life4Now replied to chanelle102's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I would never tell you what to do but wanted to send you some hugs and let you know regardless of what decisions you make, all will be okay. Use the medical staff for expert opinions and use multiple resources for those opinions. Medicine is a "practice" not an exact science. Doctors can only give you their opinions, they can't predict the future. -
Wow, that's a lot of weight in a short period of time. Good work. Looking good.

Traveling 3 weeks post op. How do I manage?
-
I'll be flying to DC. I will be staying in a hotel and will probably have to eat some meals out. I will have a fridge and a microwave in the room. What can I take to fix?
-
Did you have lap band? I am a little confused. If you had the sleeve, I have no experience. Sorry, hopefully someone can help you out.

Don't worry. All will be well. The echo was part of the regular tests we have to take for my surgeon and it tells a whole lot more than the EKG. You will do fine, it's just a simple test and they will clear you. They just want to make sure. Please don't worry, it will happen. -

my 600 pound life-pennys story
1Day1Life4Now replied to katt1584's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
This show has become one of my favorites too but I was enraged after watching this episode. The woman is delusional and mentally ill and really should not have gotten the surgery. She has no desire to work at having a healthy life or at being at a healthy weight. She enjoys being a victim and having her husband wait on her hand and foot. She is a master manipulator and her husband is her patsy and her enabler. I don't mind my tax dollars going to help people who can't work due to legitimate reasons but this is ridiculous. The husband needs to walk away for 10 hours a day and get a job and if she wants something to eat then Ms. Penny can get her butt up and walk to the kitchen and fix it. I have no compassion for her or her husband but my heart breaks for that little boy and his questionable future. -
I agree with everyone's comments about this woman. In the beginning I was so hopeful that she would progress enough to at least get out of bed and become mobile. I became angry at her when she made the comment that she thought she was a better mother than most women because she was at home with her child while the rest of us went out and had jobs. She perceived it as quality time with her child. Really? How much quality time can you spend with your child when your big butt is laid up in the bed and the father has to do everything for the child? She is very much delusional. The child is young and loves his mother but in a few short years his social interests will take him outside the home and this woman won't be seeing him... so how much quality time does she think she'll spend with him then? Her husband should be arrested for what he is doing to her. She can not stay that large without him feeding her all that junk. I was shocked that she was able to eat all of those solid foods so quickly after surgery, and the massive amounts of them were unbelievable. My heart breaks for that young boy as his future will be bleak if his dad keeps feeding him the junk I saw in their fridge. Why did this woman even agree to the surgery? I am so angry that it all came so easy to her and I've been jumping through hoops for a long time. Okay... rant over.

Want2besleeved... I know how you feel, I am on my pre-op diet too. It is very difficult but we can do this. I got some SF popsicles and sf jello to help me along. they are zero calories and are in the liquid diet so they do help and satisfy me just a bit. YOU CAN DO THIS, be strong. Good luck and let me know if you need some encouragement. I'm here for you.
