    work and complications

my doctor gives 6 weeks off to recoup. I still felt a sore spot in my tummy but it went ok until just recently. I'm 3.5 months post op and might have some issues. I file FMLA paperwork at work to protect my job because you never know how much time you may need to get back to 100%. my job is stressful and i need to be on top of things. so taking pain meds that make me drowsy are out of question. probably why i took so many weeks off
  2. I had my sleeve on Sept 24th. I've always had this little know to the right of my belly button by the incision where the doctor said the stomach was taken out at. It eventually got better but never quite went away. WELL....friday it came back. IT HURTS! It hurts when i go from sitting to standing, a little when i walk, when i lift my leg to walk upstairs or get in bed. Its also tender to touch. I saw the doctor today and he said it could be a hernia or something to do with the muscle that was stitched together. I have my doubts on the hernia idea because i read there would be a noticeable bulge and there is not. I have a ct scan scheduled in a few days but i am not looking forward to another surgery. Has anyone had anything similar? if so, what was it? I would like to hope this will just go away over time but the doctor said its been too long as it is. If anyone is experiencing something similar i'll be sure to keep you updated.
  3. i still dont have regular bms. the doctor said this is normal as long as i dont have any abdominal pain. he said some people it takes a while for everything to return to normal. plus we haven't been eating very much.
  4. it depends on what is eaten. i can eat one scrambled and and feel pretty good. i've had chili, tuna salad and very over cooked vegetables. chicken has to be moist. if meat is dry i can barely eat any of it. i haven't tried anything like pasta, mash potatoes, rice or crackers. i've read alot of people have problems with carbs feeling them up real quickly. i had surgery on 9/24
  5. i had surgery on 9/24 and i'm waiting for appt coming up on friday to get cleared for soft foods. i had a bit of discomfort on a the cream stage and that was just soup. so i'm a bit nervous but i can't help but think about what that first sort of real meal is going to be. even if its only going to be a few bites. i haven't chewed food for about a month. its more of a mental game then i suspected.

  8. i'm from san antonio texas. i'm 3 weeks out today and can start real food hopefully friday. i had to wait a few extra days cuz of my esophagus being lazy. at least thats how i understood it. i'm going to start trying soy milk or lactose free milk and see how those sit with me
