What Is the Craziest Thing You’ve Ordered at a Restaurant?
Terri Lynn1383837796 replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Food and Nutrition
I love the look on the server's face when my honey and I tell them we will share a meal! He is a tall large guy and I am well...still not a little gal. We usually both get Water... I think they must think we are broke or homeless...lol At least they look at us that way...lol -
Is anyone's goal weight higher than the BMI chart weight?
Terri Lynn1383837796 replied to her1981's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I will tell you this as I was 385 when I started my journey. See how YOU feel at 230. You do what works for you! I had 200 in mind...but because of all the lose skin and my collar bones protruding...200 is not going to happen for me. You will know when you get comfortable with you! Best of luck to you! -

Nothing is easy when it comes to clothes period. I can wear a ladies large...no wait...my torso can...my arms still need an XL or 1X. My co-workers say "oh...you must be having so much fun shopping". I just smile and say yeah. No...no I am not. I am thrilled with the weight loss but truthfully shopping is more of a chore now...even tho I can shop in stores instead of ordering from Romans or Woman Within. I have no clue what size to pull off the rack...it's a crap shoot., Just the daily life of a woman who lost 170 lbs...I knew the skin would be an issue but guess I never thought about clothes, I still thank God everyday tho.....and avoid the fitting room! -
Did anyone's spouse lose attractiveness when they got close to goal?
Terri Lynn1383837796 replied to Chrystee's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
I have been with my guy for 20 plus years...he was with me at 385 and with me now. It's funny but when he sees pictures of my former self...he says..."I just don't remember you being that big"! Well I was...and he loved me and found me desirable...he still does! He is a big fellow and I just don't see his size.....no complaints here. Thank goodness because I know a few people that had weight loss surgery are divorced now due to the changes. It happens very frequently. -
NSV - Shopping at a Regular Store
Terri Lynn1383837796 replied to Inner Surfer Girl's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
It's such a great feeling to be able to shop in stores again! I had gotten so big that I was wearing a 5x and could only order from Roaman's or Woman Within. I can now wear a 14/16! Keep up the good work everyone!! -

I weighed 352 the day of surgery. I weigh 217 now. I could probably lose more, but honestly I an skin and bone on shoulder and collar bone area. I have alot of skin in butt, leg and stomach area....so I think I look out of balance now. I had the sleeve 10/21/13. I have been this weight about 10 months. Best wishes to you on which ever you decide!! -

Terri Lynn1383837796 replied to Kindle's topic in WLS Veteran's Forum
I can honestly say I miss nothing...I was a fat ass my whole life...sad but true. I'm still not a skinny gal but a happy one. I have a glass of wine here and there...desert here and there....I am living life and loving it! My only regret is that I waited so long to get my sleeve. -

I am two years out and has the same virus over the weekend...no fruit juice! Do Pedialyte or Gatoraid/Power Aid and make sure you can keep that down. I then started with crackers....then Soup. I had no food for about 48 hours. Good news....my sleeve is working great now!! Hope you feel better soon! -

I had sleeve surgery almost two years ago. I was never able to maintain lost weight and now I am. I am NEVER sorry I had the surgery. I am only sorry I did not have it sooner. With that being said...I had absolutely no complications. I was always heavy...since childhood....btw. Best wishes to you! -

What to do with clothes
Terri Lynn1383837796 replied to Daveo's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I kept one pair of my biggest pants.....everything else to St. Vincent DePaul...they do very good works in my area. I know there was someone out there that needed them as I did once. I spent so much money on clothes...as you know...clothes that large do not come cheap! Now I despise spending money on clothes!!! I'm on the clearance racks...because I can be now!! Yay! -

Qustion to Vets: How did you know you had lost "Enough"?
Terri Lynn1383837796 posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I tried to post this question to the vet forum, but would not let me ..said I had to be a year out which I am...so not really sure what's up with that. Anyway, when starting this journey, I had a weight in mind that I wanted to reach...somewhere between 185 and 200. Over the course of my journey, I have reached 218. Could I lose more? Absolutely. However...it has gotten to a point that my friends and family are asking me when am I going to stop. You see...I have bones protruding on top...but skin at the bottom which I think makes we look "funny" to start with. Plastics are in my future...but no time soon as I do not have the money as I am still paying for my sleeve procedure. So I go back to my question...When did you know you had lost "Enough".. I thank you in advance for your time and answers, Terri:) -
