Struggling :(
Terri Lynn1383837796 replied to p-ruck21's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Don't know if anyone has tried them but I did the Premier Protein from Sams. They got me thru the rough times of not being able to eat. I could not take the powder shakes either...I would just gag! When I was able to eat more...stewed chicken was my saving grace. I still cannot eat grilled chicken as it feels like it's going to choke me to death..I still eat alot of greek yogurt as that has always gone down well. You will make it thru...you are in the toughest times now...I promise you it WILL get much better!! Best to you!! -

Terri Lynn1383837796 replied to RellaBelle's topic in GLP-1 & Other Weight Loss Medications (NEW!)
I took that drug three seperate times....oh yes I would lose ..but as others have said I would gain it back and then some. I lost 85 pounds the last time I took it...put back on 52...then got my sleeve. Best to you! -
I am so excited this morning! 101 lbs down since surgery! This was the best decision of my life, Even when I was getting adjusted to my new tummy, I have not had any regrets. I know I could not have done this on my own.

What is your go to food when you're out and forgot to bring?
Terri Lynn1383837796 replied to teacherlady2133's topic in Post-op Diets and Questions
I eat the middle out of a snack wrap, hamburger, taco when I am on the run. I am almost 7 months out and do not eat bread or tortillias...they blow up and hurt my tummy. I also have tried the new Oscar Meyer Protein packs with meat, cheese and nuts. Very good and filling. -
When you dream...Do you dream big or small?
Terri Lynn1383837796 replied to RJ'S/beginning's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Have any of yall bought clothes without trying them on only to get home and they be huge? I cannot see myself smaller yet I guess.... -
Love it! You have been such an inspiration to me RJ...as you and I were both about the same weight when we started.

My condolences to you. I have not been close to anyone that passed from wls however, a lady in our community passed some years ago from having it done. I believe she had bypass but I am not sure. Of course, we sign a waiver that it could happen...a chance we all took. I must admit that I informed my daughter of where all my important papers were and what to do in case. I was a little scared but KNEW I to do it or I would have been dead anyway soon. I wish peace to you.

How do you feel about eating out after weight loss surgery?
Terri Lynn1383837796 replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I still go out to eat...try to skip the buffets but there is a wonderful little chinese place by my house...we still go there but I get a one trip go box and eat on it for DAYS...lol In regular restaurants, I usually get something small or eat off one of my kids plates..food really doesn't matter that much anymore. I still enjoy the social aspect and can do that with a few bites and Water to drink! lol -

Doubting...please help
Terri Lynn1383837796 replied to hopeful2loose2014's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
All the feelings you mentioned I had them...fear...nerves..hunger...but I can honestly say that not a day goes by that I am not thankful for my sleeve. I did the Premier Protein from Sam's and did fine with those. Everybody is different with different tastes. Just stay on track and I promise you...you will never look back!!! Best to you!! -
Pennys story SUPERSIZED
Terri Lynn1383837796 replied to pinksjo1's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Unfortunately, the last I heard on 600 pound life website is that she is still making excuses for why her surgery didn't work. She is sailing down the river of denial. No help for her I'm afraid. -
Is this too much?
Terri Lynn1383837796 replied to RJ'S/beginning's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
You make me want some too but will wait till I get to a place where no one screams "Hey Koolaid"!! lol You look great girl! Wear those pink jeans with pride!!! -
Sweet tooth...did you love sweets before being sleeved?
Terri Lynn1383837796 replied to Flutterfly19's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was ADDICTED to sweets but no more. If I have a little taste for somthing...I have a sugar free pudding or sugar free hot chocolate. As said before, you lose the taste for it and my tummy will not tolerate them any more which is a good thing. I can't speak for everyone but staying in the bathroom was my experience when I did try some at Valentines...lol Sugar IS definately a drug and Lord have mercy I was out there bad on it. I would stop by the bakery for cake on my way home from work! Very sad but true! The sleeve has stopped my obsession with food and I am forever grateful for not being bound by my addiction. Best to you! -
Weird Water Nausea...suggestions?
Terri Lynn1383837796 replied to Tamosy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I never was a Water drinker and still can't...I have to put one of the little flavor packets in it to stomach it. No problems with that. Warmer liquids are still easier for me however. I am 4 1/2 months out. -
frustrated
Terri Lynn1383837796 replied to Ariella's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I felt the same way early on. Now, I feel satisfied when I eat and move on to something else to do. I eat to live now and it's a great feeling! It will get better when you get "settled in" with your sleeve. Right now, you and the sleeve are still strangers! (so to speak) You will be fine! Best to you! -
How long should it take?
Terri Lynn1383837796 replied to Zoumommy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm four months out and can only eat one egg. -
The need to chew...
Terri Lynn1383837796 replied to Bobbi McGhee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I tried to eat something too quick and threw it up....lesson learned. Try to stick to what the doctor recommended for you. I know it's tough, but throwing up is no picnic...lol Best to you! -
My face is "too thin!"? I'm still over 200 lbs!
Terri Lynn1383837796 replied to Dr-Patient's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I hit 40, I stopped caring what anyone thought of me.....I care less at 49! You do what you want, how you want and do not listen to that negativity! They must be jealous! -
Survey - Carbonated Drinks? Do u drink them?
Terri Lynn1383837796 replied to lapnicky's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Nah...I got off them at surgery and haven't had any. I was ADDICTED to them as well...but I'm not risking stretching this tummy that cost me a small fortune!! lol -
Time off after Sleeve
Terri Lynn1383837796 replied to nursejenny07's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have a desk job and went back in two weeks...I am forced to walk from our parking garage to my office which is quite a track....I was tired and winded after, which I never was before. Take a least 3 if you can would be my suggestion. Best of luck to you! -
Gas Pains (end when)
Terri Lynn1383837796 replied to I love me's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
All I can tell you is to eat the Gas X strips almost non stop...my daughter is an EMT and fed them to me in the hospital. I never had the 1st pain of gas... -
So, should I be 'disappointed', 'flattered' or 'indifferent'?
Terri Lynn1383837796 replied to Madam Reverie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have been feeling the same thing lately at work...I expect someone/anyone to say something...Hey people! I am down 65 pounds!!! But...another day goes by and nothing...zip. I then have to realize I see these people every day...I need to make plans to visit out of town family to get my ego boost!! SOON!!!
