Yes...it is very common after weight loss surgery to have to have your gallbladder removed. Mine was full of stones after an 80 lb weight loss.. -
Baggy or fitted?
Terri Lynn1383837796 replied to gettinghealthymom1's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Check out the thrift stores...I didn't have much luck there...but I did get some jeans and shirts on clearance at wal mart. Heck I still do. Now that I can wear clothes that aren't plus size...I rack up on clearance!!! Don't buy but a few things at a time...you will not be in them long. I had one pair of jeans and one pair of dress pants and a few blouses....Best to all of you!! -

I would not consider YOU a successful WLS patient!
Terri Lynn1383837796 replied to RJ'S/beginning's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
RJ...you have been an inspiration to me! We each have our own journey and unfortunately yours has been a rough one. I appreciate the experience and insight you offer to all. I have lost most of my faith in the medial community...I hate it...but it's currently how I feel. You are needed and wanted here!! You are a sucess story...don't let ANYONE bring you down. You are alive and here....not sure about you but I am not sure I could have said that with the weight still on. You WILL get control of the health issues!! Take care girl and thank you for being here!! -

Terri Lynn1383837796 replied to shannonblindsay's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I haven't has any soda since my surgery in October of 13. I have known people that have...those same people have stretched their sleeve back out and have gained some if not all of their weight back. I would suggest laying them down for good. Best wishes to you! -
How do you guys eat out...
Terri Lynn1383837796 replied to TeacherMommy's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am on the go alot and eat out. I typically eat the inside of a hamburger or taco for fast food. I wll eat off my husband or one of my kids plates or just bring home leftovers from a meal if we go to a sit down restaurant. I still do not eat bread, Pasta, tortillas- they make me uncomfortable. Otherwise, I just eat a few bites till I am full. Food really is not a big deal to me anymore so I don't really put much time into worrying about it. Best to all!! -

Terri Lynn1383837796 replied to Dr-Patient's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My family and I went camping for Thanksgiving! It was great! I prepared turkey, stuffing, sweet peas, corn, and lemon ice box pie. I had a bit of everything and we went for a hike afterwards. I was surprised when I got home with a two pound weight loss! Still loving the sleeve!! -

My gastric sleeve
Terri Lynn1383837796 replied to verna1960's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor said as soon as I was off pain meds...however they are all different. Best wishes to you!! -
Absolutely not! And believe me...Im almost 50 and once weighed 385...I have much skin! But nothing control top panty hose and a good bra can't handle! I went to give blood yesterday and my blood pressure was 119/72 with no meds! I had been on blood pressure meds since I was 18 years old! I went to the beach this year with my family..I wore a one piece and swim shorts and had a ball!! Spent most of my time in the ocean with my kids on a raft...I haven't been able to do that in years!! I wear a size 18 now...almost a 16 and I am thrilled about it! I once wore a 36 pant! And I feel great!! So I say again...absolutely not! I took and still take Biotin for the hair issue...I have a head full again! Also, I take 3 stool softeners a day...you can get them at Sam's for under $10 I believe...problem solved. I wish you the best and pray that you become comfortable with the new you!

What are you telling people?
Terri Lynn1383837796 replied to mom2lscw's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
For me, honesty has been my policy. I tell everyone! I remember thinking back years ago when Star Jones had her weight loss surgery but wouldn't admit it...she knew she had it and everybody else did too! She just looked crazy with the "eating right and exercising" line. People who I work with, went to school with and so on know I have been big my entire life. I have absolutely zero problem telling them I had the sleeve and many ask me about the procedure. Hey...maybe I've helped someone!!
