Hi there everyone. I've been so slack at writing. Maybe because I'm losing so slow and really don't care. I feel good and never gain. I'm in Fanwood, New Jersey with my daughter for awhil, maybe all winter. Her MIL lived with them and babysat and she broke her hip, so need to recover. It's good getting to spend time with my eastern grandchildren!

    Is God real?

Patty Green, God bless you for your willingness to share your knowledge with others. Today was the first time I read your posts because I'm not here very often. I don't believe anyone who has not had the experience of being born again in Christ can understand the change in out hearts that takes place. It's hopeless to try to explain if their hearts are hardened for Jesus. We are so lucky to have recieved the gift of Grace and faith. I think we should pray for everyone that hasn't recieved what we have been so blessed with.
  6. Marge, I love your user name! I'm 68 and have been banded for about 18 mos. Have only lost about 53# but to tell the truth, I haven't really tried. It just slowly comes off. If I could stay away from ice cream it would be faster. I was just reminded last night that this isn't a race. I think I got discouraged from using this site because my loss seemed so slow and I didn't really care so I was feeling guilty. But hey, it isn't a race and I'm feeling so much better and if I'm happy with my loss why should I feel guilty! So I;m going to check in more often and continue with my slow loss. Also one other benefit this way...I don't outgrow my clothes so fast:) Good luck on your journey.

Hi Phyll, I had both of mine done at the same time because they were equally bad and equally painful. If you're a tough old bird like me, do it that way. They have you up and walking the next day either way. A friend of mine did that about 4 mos earlier and he did fine so I asked my Dr if he would do them both and he agreed, I was his first double and now he does a lot of them.

Hi there you losers! Remember me? It's been a long time. I just quit a job that left me no time for anything except work and sleep. It was home nursing. I would drive about 200 miles per day and see 4-6 patients. That was the good part of the job. The bad part was the stacks and stacks of paper work that I just couldn't keep up with. That is the bad part of nursing these days. Now I'm going to go back to private duty and no more than 3 days a week. So now I should have time to open my computer again. As far as the weight loss.....I had been drinking slim fast on the road and pigging out at night and as you all know it's pretty hard to pig out on healthy meat and veggies. I consumed lots of ice cream and candy. In spite of that, once I got enough fills, which took a whole year, I have been slowly losing and feel a lot better. It's so maddening how easy cookies and crackers and ice cream and candy just slide down while good vegtables and meat healthy foods get stuck so easy unless you have lots of time to eat. Anyway I love my band. I don't always use it correctly but I love it.

    Newbie to the Sixties Group

Hi Leelee, My puppie is half bischon and half maltese. She is 18 mos old. weighs 8 pounds and is a sweetheart but was hard to potty train and still has accidents. I saw a bischon boy puppy a few weeks ago and wanted to scoop him up and take him home. He was so cute! Got any pictures?

    Madison area bandsters

Hi Harvest. I'm from Baraboo and had surgery at UW hosp. They do have a support group but I don't like it. Too big! Where do you live?
  13. Hi Wisconsonites. I live in Baraboo. We did survive the floods but my son from Spring Green has probably lost his house. It's still too flooded for FEMA to inspect. A lot of local roads are still being repaired. How about the rest of you?

I'm alive and well but so busy. I went from working 1 day a week to 2 days. Have physical therapy 2 times a week and spending a lot of time at the camp grounds. We now have a permanent site at our favorite campgrounds and have been doing some landscaping there. One of my sons lost his home in the recent floods so have been helping them sort, throw out and wash up what they salvaged. It's so sad. Did any of you see the houses fall into the lake and wash into the river in Lake Deltan? That's about 4 miles from us. Still several roads in the area washed out. I got on a sugar frenzy and can't seeem o get off the carbs. I gained 2 pounds over the weekend. Blame it on s'mores! I just can't seem to get motivated again. I guess I need to come here more often! Hope you are all doing well and getting skinny!

Hi all, I'm still around but haven't been able to sit long enough to post. I've been having some very dreadful back pain. Almost back to normal now. I'm starting PT next week. I hope you are all well and enjoying your summer.
