I cannot eat bananas! The worst thing was one of those cheese bisquits in Red Lobster. Haven't tried eggs because I don't like them.

I had to go back 3 times before I slept enough. The guy doing the study didn't tell me that morning. Someone else called later. Thought I would never get all that gunk out of my hair!

Am I Too Old For Banding Opp
sfeiner replied to damienne's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Damiene, I wish you would join us on the "over 60" or sixties forum. We have maybe 30 members. You will notice that there are very few complaints about pain from the band. Most of us know what real pain is and just took the surgical discomfort from this minor procedure in stride. As one said "we are tough old birds". Hope to see you there. -
This is Sophie and KC (for kitty cat) They were asleep but looked up when pic was taken

I was watching last night and some of those huge men don't weigh as much as me and I don't think I'm bigger than they are. Do you think those weights are right? Ye gads maybe I'm bigger than I think. I looked at by before pictures, front, side and back and I still don't think I'm bigger and I'm only 5'2". I was glad to see the b--ch in pink leave but felt a little sorry for her daughter. Sorry I had to miss Idol to watch it but to lazy to tape it and don't have a tivo.

I love our animal pictures. Would like to meet them all in person. I'm so sorry about Oreo.

That's a wonderful thing for you to do. You have such a big heart. God bless you.

Food? umm , I would go to that group! Nice to hear from you again.

Welcome lapbandaid, Always nice to meet another new "loser". Medicare does pay for my fills. The clinic I go to offers a package deal that includes a year of fills and monthly followup visits. I'm not sure how they would do it in your case where you had the surgery before you were on medicare. Tell us more about yourself.

Hi, Everyone....I think I'll be the contrarian voice here...
sfeiner replied to Headhunter's topic in Rants & Raves
I believe Headhunter story. We all know complications are possible. There are risks with everything in life. Anyone of us could die or be killed before the day is over Does that mean we should spend the rest of our life under the covers? Of course not. We have to weigh the odds of complications or risks in everything we do. If we are going to die of obesity complications unless we do something drastric with a slight risk involved, them I will take the risk. I know that my Dr has had no complications and has never had anyone want their band removed. To me that means the risk is very very slight. Having said that I believe his story, I need to say that I don't believe he should try to get rich from it. Or go on talk shows. My good friend just lost a baby...Does that mean everyone should be warned to avoid pregnancy because there is a risk of losing the baby? No! We all just gotta do what we gotta do and pray for good results. Life is like a box of chocolates.......... -
Sophie (my avator) wants you to know that she can keep up to any big dog when it comes to taking people for walks! She weighs 8#

I have no idea what the local P.T.s have but I'm going to check into it. That underwater treadmill sounds just great. Got a little fill yesterday and haven't noticed any difference yet but mine seem to take a few days to settle in so I will wait. Only .25cc would put me back where I was when too tight. It just doesn't seem possible that such a small amt can make such a difference. Today I'm at work, bored and battleing head hunger.

Hi Gals, Doddie, in answer to your question, It sounds like you are at your sweet spot and Phyliss, I hope this is going to be yours. Sounds good so far. I bet you can make the 100# mark by your anniversary. The question about emotional eating...Wish I knew the answer. It seems like I lose my appitite if I'm extremely upset (like when my son died) and them it does an about face and hunger returns with a vengence and then I just keep eating for comfort. Ideally we would be out there running or exercising our butts off (literally) to deal with stress and emotional pain. That's pretty hard to do with all our aches and pains. I have miserable nights after trying to "work out" too. Sorry, don't mean to complain, esp to you gals who no doubt have the same problems. It is gorgeous today. God loves us. That's enough.

Not much action from our group. I bet everybody is out enjoying spring! I go for another fill this aft. Please pray that I get some restriction without being too tight to swallow. My sweet spot seems to be very hard to find. I've been doing some emotional eating. A good friend lost her baby at birth. The funeral was Fri. and it was so sad. Trying now to focus on this gorgeous weather we are having. How is everybody doing ?

I agree. IBS

Are you dissappointed in your weight loss since banding?
sfeiner replied to wishin4's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm disapointed in my lack of restriction. Concidering that I haven't had much except for my 1 week when I was too tight, I think I've done OK. It's been much harder to get proper restriction then I expected. -
Hi Wisconsinites, I got banded at UW Madison too. Very happy with everyone there. I'm so glad to see others from here.

Pretty nice boo boo!

WOW love that pic at the top. Looks a lot like someone we all know!

Warning about the little dogs. They have little bladders! You might have to go for a walk in the middle of the night and they can't be left alone in an apartment all day. I dearly love mine but she is never left alone for more than 3-4 hours. I had the same problem with my little rat terrior that I had about 15 years ago. On the other hand my 2 black labs seemed to have been born potty trained. (had them many years ago too.) Lots of dog lovers on here. Maybe you'll get more advice.

It looks like no one has (so far) You didn't say how severe it is. You better check with Dr if it's real severe or getting worse. Hope you feel better soon.

Visual: Benefits of Weight Loss Surgery

Thanks for sharing this. The article was interesting too. -
Total meltdown yesterday - just venting
sfeiner replied to Long2BFree's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, stay out of restruaants for now. Why torture yourself? Maybe you should do the liquid diet some people have to do before surgery. I didn't so I can't tell you what it is but I bet someone can, -
I disagree with above. I would say that you are exactly at your sweet spot. If you pb a lot you would probably be too tight and if you can eat as much as you want you would be too loose. Sounds like you are just where some of us have so much trouble getting.

I agree with Wheetsin. I doubt if ppl will notice much anyway. Is it a sit down meal with place cards? That might be harder. If it is a buffet it would be easy to tell everyone you ate already. Or you could always say you tummy is a little upset.
