Yes, I like to hear the positives as well as the negatives. However, don't encourage others not to do one then the other. There is complications with any surgery. Even if its a removal of your tonsil. Things happen and we hope the best and pray for success. People generally knows the risks, trust and believe me when I say, "Your surgeon will or have sat with you to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of all the W.L. procedures...at least the one you've chosen or was recommended." This site is a support site, keep stories coming good or bad, however, don't discourage others not to do it because you or someone you know may have had complications. Again, with any surgery complications is sure to follow. "I'm sorry for all the people whose had any sort of complications. My heart does goes out to you." However, let me take my chances and cross the bridge once I get there. If I don't do this, I may have even more problems...bigger ones with this weight I'm carrying. Either way I'm in a danger zone, and this tool which ever I choose will help me. "If I'm not living, then I'm dying, therefore, I'm ready to LIVE, if I die trying, then at least I tried." Just speaking my mind...not trying to offend anyone. If so, then I apologize, but truth be told.

I've been following a few people on here, and I'm looking forward to doing my lap band in Feb 2014 (self paying) so I got to save money. Question: Have anyone had their surgery done in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida or Sarasota, Florida? If so, what WLS would you recommend?
-
Great!!! Congrats, on your hard work.

I wish you the best on your journey and show your brother you did it. Yes, I do believe these people are being condescending, which I've cut off one by one. I haven't even had the surgery, and already people are attacking me. That being said, "I drop them one by one." Thanks!!! Good luck to you.

I have to look him up. I'll be self paid myself, that's a great price.

Yep, sleeve sounds right up my alley. Thanks! Happy your doing better with the revision. I can't wait to be sleeved.
-
I'm happy you did what was best for you. I've heard many complain about reflux with it.
-
Couldn't have said it better myself. Thanks!!

Whether I get the sleeve or band, I would like to tell my banders, "Thank you! from day one for all the support and advice. I made a few friends here and I enjoyed taking with you guys. I've been on the sleeve forum lately, but had to stop by and read what's good with my friends...hehehe. Ok, carry on."

My surgeon like many in South Fla no longer does the band. Too many are saying the revision rates are higher then the success rates. Thus, the band requires far more maintenance then the sleeve.

"egg" Under My Incision
Essence33 replied to sapMegan's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
If you have a sleeve, then there shouldn't be a port. Its maybe something else going on there. It may be an infection. I can't believe a scar tissue can cause that issue so quickly. Ask the surgeon. Good luck and feel better. -
Congrats on your healthy, happy baby. I meant virginal birth, obviously you did, so it answered my question. Only because many people state they would have to resort to a c-section. Thanks
