First consultation tomorrow
BLK Velvet replied to sweetrose1979's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi!!! I am definately not wanting to lose the weight too quickly. My friend lost weight super fast with RNY and it cost her a great deal of trouble. That is one of the reasons why I picked the band. -
Considering getting banded
BLK Velvet replied to bbyruth's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Hi Ruth! Glad you are taking careful consideration of the Lap-Band! I am aiming to get banded in Jan. I totally feel you on the rude comments from family members. My Dad is constantly asking about my weight. I hate going home to extended family proud of my latest achievements and all someone can say is that how fat I am. Make sure while you are weighing in on your Lap-Band options that you get in touch with the emotional side of things. -

Hey,hey, hey!!!! SA(San Antonio) in the house! I'm in San Antonio too at True Results! Call or text me at (Two-ten) 454- Thirtysix-Fifteen! My insurance...no love there lol! So I am a stash the cash patient! Hope to have surgery some time in Jan. I am with you Rose! I am not doing it to be skinny. I'm in my late 30's and my mother had her first heart attack in her late 40's. Getting asthma finally was the last straw. I don't understand your co-workers comment and thought she would be more understanding since she had a similar procedure. Interesting. -
Hello! My name is Velvet and I am tossing my hat into the lapband ring. I'm done with being overweight and it has been an especially intense struggle the last 6 years. I recently acquired asthma and it has put a big dent in my weight loss efforts. Off and on steriods, breathlessness, and etc., I just need the band to give me an edge so to speak. Right now I have 0 support. 1) My husband is against surgery. 2) Not much for family or friends. Believe it or not, I'm not really worried about the lack of support, I just want to get healthy so I can enjoy my future grandchildren. Kinda of tired of being fat too lol! So my insurance would rather pay for heart attacks, high cholesterol medicine, etc, so I am private pay for the low low price of 9,888. Maybe a little more, because I would like an overnight hospital stay. I don't get the insurance company's metality..but hey sometimes you have to go with the flow. My biggest obstacle right now is PTSD and Depression from being in the military. The VA is dragging it's heels in getting the documentation I need. The Dr. I talked to at True Results said that he may be able to get what he needs by Jan. My psychiatrist feels so-so about it. I feel like the weight that I am at effects the way I metabilize medication, so that's why it hasn't worked consistantly Just keep this area of my life in prayers. At any rate, nice meeting everyone! Thank you all very much! I am really a very positve person, but sometimes when you are fed up you have to let it all hang out! I'm just working like a Hebrew slave to get cash together to pay for this surgery in January. I look so forward to better health of course and better fitting SHOES lol! -
Bariatric surgery is tough marriages! Just make sure you are giving your husband extra tlc before and after the procedure. I think my husband has some of the same insecurites. He married me this size. I just have to show him our love goes way beyond the way that I look.
