3rd Revision- RNY,band over bypass, D—Switch
HamHockSkye replied to HamHockSkye's topic in Revision Weight Loss Surgery Forums (NEW!)
I had the RNY in 2005. And as expected the pouch does tend to stretch over time. At the time in 2013 I chose to do band over bypass because I had loss some restriction. The D-Switch was not being done then and was the band only revision option in my area. It wasn't until last year that I was made aware the D-switch could be done. So I decided to have the band removed and do the d-switch with the intention of not continuing to gain more weight. Since the D-Switch I’ve been pretty stable but I was hoping to see more of a progression. The reason I made the post was in hopes to find someone in a similar situation. I am re-learning my body again. I’m not looking to do another surgery -

Because 10 years after RNY I began regaining weight and with the band I wanted a more permanent option and remove the hardware. -
Hope for all you revisionists!

I haven’t talked to them since my 8 week follow up. I’ll have to make an appt. But from that visit he did say it would be real slow. So I just assumed it was normal -
Hope for all you revisionists!

Am 7.1 in a 10cc band. My stomach has been cramping since Wednesday. The pain goes away when I take a alka seltzer. But once it's worn off the the nagging muscle constricting pain comes back. A couple of times I've dry heeved. I have an appt Monday but just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this

Well here's an update. Went to the Dr. And took a little fluid out. She was thinking it may be constipation due to the increased protein. So I went home and bought stool softeners. Had a pretty good movement and pain went away for a little bit. Now pain only goes away with Alka Seltzer and if I eat frequently during the day. THIS IS SO FRUSTRATING!!!

I'm four weeks and stomach cramps wake me up in the middle of the night. Anyone else have this?? What did you do. Why is this happening

4 weeks out and stomach cramps
HamHockSkye replied to HamHockSkye's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
UPDATE: So I had my first follow up and I told him I've been miserable since surgery. He said the reason my stomach was cramping was because my body was hungry. Told me to eat more and to increase my protein. Also told him about the nausea and he said it was because of the excess mucus just sitting in my pouch. To fix that he suggested drinking warm liquids to help break it up. Did all that he suggested and I'm thankful I can say I feel MUCH better!!! Will still wait a couple of weeks for my first fill to give my body a chance to adjust
