  1. Happy 42nd Birthday queenmum!

  2. 4 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 4th Anniversary queenmum!

  3. :angryI am so frustrated with the 6 month supervised diet. My surgery will be covered by my insurance if I complete a 6 month supervised diet first. Now I know that I should be thankful when so many people have to self pay but I have been on diets for the last 19 years, and I have only gotten heavier. I am afraid for my health and I finally found something that may help me get a handle on things and now I have to wait. And I don't understand all the details yet. Do I have to do the diet and then in 6 months when it hasn't worked well enough then do I start all the other things I have to do before the surgery or can I do them while I am dieting. I am afraid I will lose all hope. I hope someone out there in Bandland can share how it was for them if they had to do this. :help:

    Why are YOU Fat?

I was 15 and weighed 130 pounds and thought I was too heavy. Then it all went down hill. I had my first child and was married at 16 and by the time I gave birth I weighed 197 pounds. I lost alot right after but it came back and increased with each child I have had. A total of 5 over the last 20 years. I eat when I am not hungry, I eat when I am hungry, I eat when I am sad I eat when I want to celebrate. I found that over the years through divorce and depression food was my best friend. It made me feel better if only for a little while. I now understand that I can look for support, comfort, companionship, love and so much more from the wonderful people who have come into my life. I only hope that with the help from a lap band I can regain the body I used to know, and find the life I used to have,
  5. I am soon to see a surgeon in Bend, Oregon and I would love to hear from anyone who has had their surgery there.

  7. Hi. I have been thinking about having the lap band surgery for a long time. I am 36 years old and I weigh 304 pounds, my BMI is 49 so trust me I know that I need the surgery because everything else I have tried has failed but the more research I do the more I wonder if I can handle it. I have read alot of your posts about the varing levels of pain after surgery. I have five children and I don't know how I would be able to care for them if I was in alot of pain. I am also concerned about the PBing that alot of you talk about. How long does this go on? Is it a permenant problem? I would really like to hear how you all cope with things like this. I think it would help me alot. I have alot of fear. :help:
