    Tomorrow is my surgery day

Regular food for me. It seems really easy to eat pretty much everything. I am not getting as much Protein as I would like but so far so good. I've been hitting the gym every other day and spending a minimum of 30 minutes on the elliptical machines and taking walks on the other days. My biggest complaint is I can't burp! I hate it! But if that is the price I must pay then so be it. I hope everyone is doing well.

    In need of encouragement

I am very new to the Band and this forum. I don't really have enough knowledge to even pretend to offer you good advice but that wasn't the point of your post, was it? The one thing that I do know without any doubt whatsoever is that this is not a SPRINT. This is a MARATHON and it is one you and I will be running for many years to come. The fact that you underwent the procedure, that you find yourself on these forums publicly seeking encouragement from relative strangers leads me believe that what you might need above all is a simple reminder. You are very brave and your are special. It takes guts and determination to get this far. Don't Ever Forget, nothing worthwhile is easy. This forum is full of great advice and people that care. Your MD has a vested interest in your success...lean on them. If you need encouragement then please go to the nearest mirror and reintroduce yourself to one of the bravest people you will ever meet...

When should i start exercising after the band?

I walked all over the hospital on day #0, a mile on post-op day #1, 1.5 miles on post-op day #2, and today I am going to walk for a full 3 miles. As an RN I can tell you that unless my patients are on a ventilator or are medically unstable they at least get out of bed and into a recliner on the first day. Walk, walk, walk! It is good for the body and good for the brain and it will get all of that air out of you. I have a month off and I intend to spend a good part of every day outside in the fresh air walking through parks filled with the colors of autumn. Grats to you and good luck!

    Tomorrow is my surgery day

Hey Nay91, you could try and ask your MD if they would give a script for quick dissolve Zofran. It breaks down on the tongue and is a liquid by the time you swallow it. It is a great drug for nausea, one of the best. Oh, btw, I just got home from the hospital and I feel pretty darn good. I have already walked a few blocks twice today and I will go on a 3rd after dinner. Grats on your new life everyone!

    24 hours post op

I just got home from the hospital and I am 24 hours post op as well. Your body will absorb the gas over time and it is true that walking helps. Grats to you and me

    Tomorrow is my surgery day

Grats Mel7!! The nurses and MDs will take good care of you so don't be afraid. My surgery date is tomorrow as well and I am so excited. Great advice from all of the previous posts. Good Luck!!!
  7. Just a guess but time release pills are often designed to protect the drug from the harsh environment of the stomach so that it becomes available for absorption further down the line in the small intestine. Some of the drugs are also coated to protect the stomach like Coated Aspirin because, well, bleeding stomach ulcers are bad....allegedly.... I am also worried about pill sizes because I take 2 large ones twice a day and if they get stuck it is going to be a bummer. Great thread guys.
