  1. I took it and these cramps aren't constipation....my intestines feel like they're in a vice. ..been going on all day. ..I started soft solid food on Thursday so I'm guessing that's it???? I have no Idea but I'm in a lot of crampy pain...ugh. ..
  2. thanks.,.I called the surgeon...she was in surgery and will call me back...just wanted to know if anyone experienced pain at the incision site after a couple weeks..I would be shocked if i'm the only one...but it appears, I am ...
  3. I was about 400lbs at surgery....having lost 37lbs before surgery...so I'm definitely on the larger side of most people I read about on here. This coming Tuesday will be the 2 week post-op mark for me. I feel like I'm eating too much....and too fast.....but am surprised I'm even able to. I'm having about 2 protein shakes a day and 1 bowl of soup with protein added....at first it took me almost an hour to get thru my protein shake.....now....maybe 20mins...maybe! I have been having about 48oz of water per day...no problem! And I am started to feel constant hunger......It's hard to feel hunger...because it makes me think of FOOD.....I'd give my right arm to CHEW...lol....I'm wondering if this is normal in the clear/full liquid stage?
  4. Thank you very much!! that means a lot!
  5. So basically...just because I'm ABLE to drink shakes faster..doesn't mean I should....makes sense! I think the head hunger is definitely part of it....I miss chewing and that's probably manifesting in other ways. I am, however, glad to hear that not feeling the restriction is somewhat normal..that part was freaking me out the most!! I meet with diet group/nutritionist on Wednesday, the 19th.. I think i'll start the next phase of pureed foods after that. thanks so much for the feedback!
  6. Who knew it would be this difficult to drink the 80-90z of liquids ...wowsers!!! I had to stay in the hospital one extra day due to swelling & nausea. But with all the anti nausea meds I was doing great on day three. Day 4...I'm home...set my alarms for 6am to start my drinking.....it's now 5pm and I've only had about 20 ounces....anyone else have this problem...or have any advice...dehydration would mean a trip to the ER and I'm definitely not down for that.....
  7. Thank you all so much!! I'm 1 week out and I feel amazing. I've been off pain and nausea meds for three days now....I'm enjoying protein shakes, yogurt and Popsicles with no issues....vitamins are going well...I'm hitting at least 10k steps a day according to my Fitbit....the only real side effect is gas....but from what I read...that's normal...and I'm still sleeping in a recliner...but it's a comfy one...so it's not too bad. I have to share...PB2...which is powdered peanuts is amazing when added to choc protein shake....it's like a Reese shake...yum!! My husband even loved it and he's a hardcore sweets guy lol. Hope you're all doing great!! ????????
  8. Thanks so much everyone....the surgery went great...I did have to stay an extra night because the sweeping was bad and I wasn't keeping any fluids down...very nauseous! I made sure to walk a lot...that def helps move the gas around. I'm home now...on the mend. I never realized how difficult it'd be to drink 90oz of water/clear liq in one day.....today is my first full day....I'm making it my job...haha
  9. Trying to find out what to do the help physically.....I've been doing great on Liver shrinking diet but am wondering about any other pre surgery tricks....and although I'll only be in hospital for two days...one night....what should I bring...or not bring? Thank you
  10. I am having surgery on Tuesday...so tmrw I'm on clear liquids only....does this mean I can (or should) have a protein shake with water or not....help...I'm panicking....
  11. This is SO helpful. ...thank you all so much! !
  12. Thank you all soooooo much!! I really appreciate all the advice. Tomorrow is my clear liquid day..not sure if that means I can have a Protein shake with Water or not....I want to make sure I have all the protein I can but don't want to mess anything up...I'm nervous about the surgery...and have been sticking to doctors orders but for some reason I can't find anything that tells me about pre op pretend the day before. Thanks again everyone....I hope you're all doing great... I'll definitely keep you posted on my progress ????
  13. oh my word.....this is my dream!! I'm schedule for one week from today and I'm getting really freaked out. I've been watching 1 week post-op video's to see how people are doing. I think I need to get some clarity on clear and full liquids...somehow I thought i'd be on clear liquids for 3 weeks..thank god I was wrong!! So happy to hear your are doing so great...gives me hope!!
  14. I have finally made the decision to undergo weight loss surgery. I've met with the doctors and discussed it with my family and have read various materials regarding surgery. My only question is regarding Gastric Sleeve vs. Gastric Bypass surgery.....I've read the pro's and cons of both, but am looking for some thoughts one why one would choose one over the other.....any guidance would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you so much.
  15. I got my surgery date on friday... I'm very excited and nervous. I have several appointments between now and then...and the "liver shrinking diet" that I hadn't ever heard of...and then surgery. Any other early August patients? Anyone been on the liver shrinking diet?
  16. When I was talking with my surgeon she told me I was on the heavier side of the patients she's dealt with but that it wasn't a problem. I have been watching what I eat and drink and am definitely trying to lose as much as possible before my surguery on 8/4/15. She said the more I lose, the better off I'll be. Any other out there in the 400+ range at the time of surgery? Is it something you discussed at length with your surgeon or was it not that big of a deal?
  17. Such great feedback...thank you all so much!! My doctor did say the more I lost before surgery the more successful i'll be after and that anyone that is "By the book" as far as eating and exercise has more success. And all of that makes perfect sense to me...I just have to buckle down and do it...story of my life. I tend to look forward to eating and NOT look forward to exercise. Part of the reason I embarked on this venture (which started out non-surgical) is that I wanted to explore my relationship with food more and figure out why i'm such an emotional eater. I think I really have to focus on that now and moving forward because I think that is going to dramatically predict my success here. I'm so happy this forum is here..I can already tell it's going to be a very positive resource!
  18. Thank you so much!! That is very helpful. I am not very physically active right now..but anytime I've been successful it's always been when physical activity is involved...sometimes to an extreme. I really like walking...(when it doesn't really hurt my back) and i'm hoping that and some strength training can get me kicked off in the right direction. Do you mind if I ask what a typical workout is for you? We seem to be as closely paired physically as most of the profile I've read..I know everyone's body is different....but I really want to be successful in this journey. thanks so much!!

    My 600 lb Life!

omg, i've watched all 3 seasons!! I love watching and seeing the success stories and can definitely relate to some of the struggles they face.
  20. I'm scheduled for 8/4 so I'm just a week after you. I haven't really gotten into full swing with my pre-op appointments, but I'm anxious and ready

    August 4th surgery day....

That's very exciting!! I'm so nervous...I think it's possible i've read TOO much on the topic..haha. I have to go to some seminar on 7/1 where i'll get a surgical binder. They said it woudl be an hour and a 1/2 of information overload but that i'd be given a binder with all the info so not to worry. then I meet with the nutrionist and go over my pre op diet plan and this "liver shrinking diet" ...which could be one in the same for all I know and then a meeting with surgeon and i'm ready. I was reading yesterday all about how people's taste buds change after surgery. stuff they really liked before they disliked after surgery...that was new news. Is there a way you and I can follow one another on here and stay in touch? I'd love to have someone to chat with after surgery and check in with each other to see how we're both feeling etc. Would you be up for that?
  22. Anyone have this test done pre-Sleeve? I am having a Barium Swallow test done tomorrow and I'm hoping it sounds worse than it actually is......
  23. It wasn't bad at all....over with quickly...but holy white poop batman. Hahah...that was a little shocking lol
  24. Great...thank you all very much for the feedback! I'm much less worried about it now
