I know it is a life changing experience and truthfully its up to us to really decide whats best for us. In the Hispanic cultural we were taught to eat with tortillas as our forks and for 44 yrs thats all ive ever known, so unless u decide to change that homemade fork to a real fork and make it work in ur favor, that alone is a huge accomplishment:). -

I caught myself sleeping on my stomach the other night and well im a big tummy sleeper, I did change to my side just because im still a bit tender. As far as alcohol there is a video that explains about that. I do have to say its all up to u. If u go thru this journey do u really want to still hVe the bad habits we had before? -

I had the same feeling too..no hernia no band fyi im not a dr but im sure if u have been told you have acid reflux u must have a tear. Tonight I kinda took day 10 ahead, I ate a small fish....ohhhh sooooo yummy...had like 7 fries...and yes chewed it up until it was very mushie. I can honestly say "I am full, but a happy full!!! " my mom was like r u sure u are full? U hardly ate nothing. I told her " Yes , Mom, believe it or not im very satisfied" I feel like I accomplish a mile stone tonight. Any other time prior to my band I would had this instead ; 2 margaritas w/ chips and dip plus Ordered extra chips, then an enchilada plate w two torillas. And then drink whatever my mom had left over. When I go to any restaurant w my mom its our time and I love to see her enjoy so its always been a margaritaville with her. But she understands now its for my health. She was very understanding tonight, but a bit sad. I told her its ok we juat need to learn to drink wine but just to slightly enjoy for a once in a while enjoyment:) Im sure yall girls will do fine. Its just the idea of getting all this going and actually doing it. -

I can start walking then slowly work towards more run or whatever im comfortable with. Right now im in the mushie stage, but my friends is a few days ahead of me and shes in the soft foods. The only thing I can say unless u have experienced the stuck feeling its hard to described that you will learn to chew your food and not swallow it entirely. But besides that its all good:) -

I know the feeling, in 2004 and 05 I was losing weight went from 187 to 141. Did it thru WW and lots of hard work. I even wrote an article for our town newspaper. No one knew about the person until I hit my goal the paper wanted me to reveal myself. That was so hard because I knew I had keep this up. Needless to say I had 4 surgeries thru out 2005 to 2011. Gained it all back plus some. I had no motivation no in tend to do anything. Became a diabetic and blood pressure was so bad was hospitalized twice kept over 5 days each time. I was depressed and the months going by made me worse. Went up to a size 18 maybe even a 20. Never in my life even pregnant was I over 200 lbs. I saw a different person, this person had no life, she didnt care on looks or even what people said about the weight. It was one day I decided to go back to school and finish up a degree to get my life back I meet a person who was alot like me except a foot taller..lol..and when she told about what she was gonna do I was like in shocked. I talked to my husband and said enough is enough. I want the old me back!!! I want to be the person who people saw when I walked thru the door and my self confidence was well known. So thats when I decided I had to do whats best for me. My goal is to hit the 140 again but I know I wont be with a flat tummy but at least I know this time im in control. Heres my email melindajorta1969@gmail.com. if u need any info please feel free to contact me:) -

Oh np..my husband is my back bone but ugh.... I can't even suck on a candy, because hes like "Its not on your list" but at the end I know hes right. He keeps me on track and I think thats what helps me the most. So if ur hubby is helping you now, by all means embrace it and utilize it, because not alot of people have that support system. I do have to say two weeks before my surgery my oldest daughter and sister in law did a intervention with me. It hurt so bad because I had no idea they were that against it. I waited for them to leave to call my husband at work and cried. He told me not to take it wrong they just loved me and they were just worried. Well my goal is to prove to them I made the right decision and im using this as a tool to help me get healthy. -

Lol. Right now im just sore, but I am doing everything they instructed me to. I just have billions of questions. One question how can we post a pic here but to show with our name.

Ok day 3 if my surgery. Having a hard time swallowing it seems I tend to swallow alot of air and it hurts going down my chest, even water. Im wondering if my band is too tight? I started at 216 first appt then day of surgery i was 206 now im 201.2. Im not hungry just hurting from my back to my chest. Im barely taking 6oz of protein drink and like 4oz of broth one popsicle maybe 3oz of water or cystal light. Is this normal? -
