Love the nutribullet! Couldn't live without it. Banded 9/13. Use it all the time. Puree everything from chicken, crabmeat for seafood salad, pineapple chunks with yogurt for smoothie, cauliflower that was been microwaved! Best purchase. Looking forward to protein shakes.

Gas pain in shoulder
drsandersrn replied to jakki14's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The pain is from the leftover CO2. Some doctors told me after the fact that I could have positioned pillows under my hips while laying on my back to try and displace the leftover gas from the phrenic nerve which is around the stomach. The pain is actually referring up into the shoulder area. I actually put ice on my shoulder. Moving does help the leftover gas dissipate quicker. In also saw where it is recommended to lay on your side and pull your knees up as close to your chest as possible for 5-15 mins to try and get relief. I asked the office what I could do and they said gas-x but the only way that would have helped would have been if it was intestinal gas, and this isn't. It's that left over CO2 from the lap- -
I have not. I had the hernia repair at the same time so the DC instructions said to limit vigorous exercise for 4-6 weeks. I have done a ton of walking. 6 flags this past weekend and GA game a few weeks ago as well as a couple Braves games. So definitely being active but haven't gotten a routine. That is something I am looking forward to asking him tomorrow during my fill appt. Everything I see online post hernia repair says wait about 4-6 weeks.

I am from the Warner Robins area. Banded 9/13 with the Lap-Band AP. 1st fill tomorrow. My port is also in chest /under left arm area. Loving it. Doing well. Definitely not as hungry. Agree with some on this thread that it's curbing my appetite!

I am newly banded on 9/13 and my surgeon placed my port in my chest. He placed a small incision under my left arm and the port is near there I assume. I can't feel it at all. His rationale is that the chest cavity is the most stationary part of the body and ports there tend not flip. Anyone heard of this?

I have my first fill Thursday 10-17. Had the Lap-Band AP placed 9-13 with no fill at the time of placement. My surgeon puts the port in the chest. Small incision under the arm. I can't feel it so I am not sure exactly where it is. His rational is that the chest cavity undergoes less amounts of movement/manipulation than the abdomen. Hope your post fill goes well.
