  1. Doin' it for me!

    Any other September 2013 bandsters?

Hi! I'm a September Bandster too. Banded on 9/17, first fill 10/28 of 5cc's. I'm wondering what are you eating during a typical day? I hardly eat a thing, and feel like there should be an approximate amount of calorie intake given in order to keep me healthy. My usual is a light smoothie with Protein for breakfast, a cheese quesadilla for lunch (simply a very thin half of tortilla with minimal cheese), and one cup of mac and cheese for dinner. Not the best food choices, I know, but it's yummy, and I'm still losing. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Banded 9/17 at 258.5lbs. Current weight: 228lbs. Total loss: 30.5lbs.

Share ideas, What did you eat today ?

I, too have been wondering what people actually eat during a full day. I have a light smoothie with protein for breakfast, one cheese quesadilla for lunch (nothing on the thin tortilla but minimal cheese), and a cup of mac and cheese for dinner. I have been eating the same for 2 weeks now, and have lost 9 lbs. Would you call this normal? I have 5cc's in my band.

Had my first fill today, and it was a breeze! I currently have 5cc's, and am going back next month. So glad the fill wasn't painful at all...didn't really know what to expect.

Mama had to buy a belt today! Haven't had any belts in my closet for years! Was at the other end of the spectrum just hoping my pants would button! Banded 9/17, 20.5lbs down, water aerobics 5x a week, strength training 1x a week, and yoga with my 7 year old 1x a month. Feeling good, but ready for my first fill on the 28th! Have a great weekend, everyone!

I was banded on the 17th with an empty band. I'm back on normal foods, but can't wait for my first fill because hopefully I won't feel so hungry.

My first fill is October 28th! Excited!
  7. Called the nurse yesterday morning. She said when patients come for their first fill she'd like them to be within a 5 lb. range of where they were at their 1 week post-op appointment. Phew. I've been able to maintain, but it has been hard without the fill. Thanks for your comments!
  8. I have been having shoulder blade pain since I was banded in September. Went for a massage, worked it out, and I was back to pain within days. Never thought it could be band related, but maybe? Interesting.

I was banded on 9/17/13. Can't wait for my first fill! Happy about finding a September group!
  10. Hi! Happy to find an online support group for LapBand patients! During 2 week pre-op diet through one week post op visit, I lost 18.5lbs. Since then, I've only managed to lose a pound. Nurse told me not to be discouraged if I don't lose any weight between one week post op visit and first fill on 10/28/13. I am hungry, and on weekends I tend to push the limits. Anything can slip though this sucker. My understanding is that the band is simply sitting there, so perhaps I should be using this time to heal, and still make good food and beverage choices like I did during my 2 week pre-op diet? Can somebody please confirm this? A 1 pound loss in a month is disheartening, especially since I attend a water aerobics class 4-5 times a week, and do a strength training class once a week. Thanks in advance for your support.
